Ditto00 Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Guys and gals, I got to thinking.... Lasers are coherent (focused) light correct? Shields can let light through so you can see the universe correct? Bite into this one... Why is it that in every game and show I know, shields block lasers? How is it possible that light from the sun can get through, yet a laser cannot?

Guest Remo Williams Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 That was a very interesting post nomad. Several of the machines I program for are CNC CO2 lasers. We use them to cut 3/8 steel plate into parts for large construction equipment. Its like cutting butter with a hot knife and never stops amazing me how the whole process works. The only draw back is the amount of power required is outrageous. I'm glad I don't pay that power bill.
