MOVING, Finally.....

HAH!!!

Now that we are settling in, I decided to make use of my Big attic, and create my hamshack.

Got my G5RV in the air, and 5 band Dipole, it covers 10,15,20,40 and 80 meters, my triband beam up, 10, 15, and 20 meter coverage, and my 12 element 2 meter beam as well. Got my desk set up up there, my HF rig and my 2 meter rig.

SO, if any of you guys are ham, I am usually on 80 meter 3.970 in the evenings, and will be tramping around 40 after work, and then 20 and 15 in the mornings if I am up early enough.

Had some great conversations with Hawaii last night, and down in Oregon on 80, as well as a station in Virginia and a few other eastern states as well.

Ham radio is a ball, if you are interested in becoming a ham, it's a GREAT hobby....

FINALLY moved a couple of weeks ago, got my DSL in last week and my backup cable internet line today. Can't believe how long it's taken for everything to come together. Thought that by buying a new house, I would have no worries, but the past 2 weeks has just seen a PARADE of contractors coming and going to fix various problems left over by the builder. I'll post some pics later the place is pretty nice.

New houses in some respects are worse then old ones. Old ones have normally been taken care of, the maintenance fairly well taken care of, etc, and all the bugs worked out. On a new house, you have all the bugs to work out, landscape to put in, warranties to deal with, contractors stomping in and out, and having to deal with said contractors HAS to be one of the worst parts, and of course, if something does break, it is probably something catastrophic, and needs to be dealt with NOW, and again, said contractors act like they have all year.

I feel for you Darkling, but congratulations!!

Oh, and I got my 2 meter packet machine up and running last night as well, talk about a troubleshooting nightmare!! UGH!!!
