THEN, maybe these punks will stop being punks, and obey the law..... When nothing else will work, a little physical pain goes a long way to getting the brain of the abusee to connect the dots...

Shadow5731 Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 It all comes down to a bunch of kids getting together to say "This is what I want to do, so I'm gonna do it...screw you!"...I don't think so. Things like this may be a reeeeal good reason why the parents SHOULD be able to punish, teach, and reward...as necessary, for their childs actions, and not get thrown in a jail or fined for doing what they can to teach their kid right from wrong. If the parents have the responsibility to have the child, then they should be able to take them "out-back" and have a little talk with them. As for that "happy slapping" junk going on over there. No matter how you try to justify something like that, it doesn't matter whether it's horse-crap, or fly-crap...it's still crap.
Wolferz Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Forget the orange jumpsuits. Time to take the old pillory and stocks out of mothballs methinks. Slap a few of these jugheads in the stocks for a day or two, along with their parents and I bet it stops very quickly. Especially after the culprits have soiled themselves because they have no way of going to the potty. I think a few days of smelling one's own stench would go a long way toward motivating these kids to straighten up and fly right.

So, what happens when juviniles break the law... With the removal of the death penalty in the US, kids are just going to get a slap on the hand. That won't do it. There needs to be a longer lasting punishment in order to continually remind them. I always thought a missing finger worked well.
