It's not so much that it is blind but there is some pressure into getting that conviction that people are willing cross lines in order to do it even if that means breaking laws themselves.

I think the system needs to change in this area in that in such cases the individual, who perpetrated the evidence wrong doing, should be held accountable only and not the government. Then these individuals will think twice about doing something like this ever again. At this point what do they care they walk away scott free while the tax payer is left with the lawsuit bill.

It is one thing to do something underhand to secure a conviction against someone whom you know personally for yourself is guilty, but its another to deliberately let, or lie to send an innocent person to prison.
