Ok guys, I thought that it would be a good idea to make 3020 easy to play online even through a proxy. I have seen many people on many games forums having this very problem. They use a LAN and have a proxy to connect to the internet but no games frown.gif

The only game working that I know of is QuakeWorld and that by using a third party program like cheapo.exe.

I just thought that maybe it wouldnt be too much extra work for developers to alter the network code and add extra options in order to make this possible. even if it means using only specific proxy programs, even that would be a step forward.

Well, I have an easy solution for the proxy issue. Don't play at work. If you can't navigate around the proxy server, you're probably gonna get busted anyway. Here's an idea. Get to know the IS guys who are in charge of it. There are always backdoors, and they probably know 'em all.

Why is that a solution?

Well guys have a look into any multiplayer games forums on the internet and see how many people is having that kinda problem, using a proxy at home or work for whatever reason(parents running a business, security, permanent connection with more than one PC, etc..). This is a real obstacle and I do think that multiplayer games developers should think about it.

Now I don't have an idea about how much work would this development involve but, I do hope that if it wont take too many resources to achieve, this options be taken into account and eventually provided.
