Guest Mike Bakke
I know it's been said that ACM will be done away with upon the release of 3020 but I'll try anyway. I'd like to see an acm scenario in which each mission's outcome changes some small variable in the game universe. A player cannot "fail" in acm but can make the universe a very bad place for Galcom. Little things like if a player fails to escort a ship then the race that was on the ship will be a little less friendly. If a player was supposed to intercept a shipment then maybe those hi-tech parts will advanve one race slightly more than another. I hope you see what I mean. ACM where you keep replaying until you get it right isn't my idea of realism. ACM where you play through the good times and bad is much more realistic I think. Gallion
A good idea but a full version of GBS will be part of BC3020AD. Pratice now and scipt your own ACM. SC has stated that he will not include ACM missions with BC3020AD release. With multi-play, choice of race and castes who needs any "canned" ACM missions? Guest Zach Gaskins
Here's an interesting question: You mentioned "choice of caste". Does this mean that each caste will have different goals to accomplish and different behavior rules with other castes/races? Like what would being a Trader do to my multiplayer experience? This sounds like a more long-term game like UO or Everquest...a need to dock somewhere and stay for the "night"...I mean, unless we're playing at 10x compression, how long are you gonna play in one sitting? (laugh it up but some of us work and go to school!) ------------------ Zach Gaskins "That boy's head is like Sputnik! Round but quite pointy in parts!" Gallion
I'm not privy to the inside details but think of it this way [using v2.04 as reference]: Currently you have three choices; Galcom ACM, Free Flight - Scientist, and Free Flight - Insurgent. All start from Galcom HQ. The way I vision choice of race/castes is that I would start a game from the main SS of what race I choose to be. Galcom HQ - Terran, Gammula - Gammulan, Rattlers Den - Terran Insurgent, etc.. As far as castes goes, instead of being TER/MIL, GAM/MIL, INS/MIL, or TER/SCI I would have a choice from other castes; i.g. Merchant, Police, Raider, etc.Goals would be what ever I wanted them to be single or M/P..no script, no responsibility to anything but my survival and material acquisition.I do not know how M/P sessions go but if a player can only enter/exit a session from a SS or SB then the rest of the dynamic universe will continue whilst I sleep. As I will soon do now ------------------ Cmdr Gallion GCV-Graf Spee, Corsair Wing Wraith Fleet [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 02-12-99).]

Guest Zach Gaskins
Ouch. "So be good, for goodness sake!"So for all of you who require sleep, buy "The Club " from your local starstation. Millions of shipowners swear by it!No longer will your ship be blown up/stolen while you're snoozing amongst your collection of I/Artwork.(...yeah, it would kinda suck to have your ship blown up while you're offline...or do you put Paul "Chief Wiggum" Resnig in charge?)------------------ Commander Zach Gaskins GCV Hypercephalic "That boy's head is like Sputnik! Unfortunatly I will need him in some ACM situations. The Horror.... [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 02-12-99).]
