Guest phairfan
I think it would be good to actually include a manual with BC3020 that contains everything. Sure, I know that having the manuals on the CD would conserve trees and all that, but an online manual isn't much help if I need to look up some stuff and I'm playing the game...Heck, if an actual manual is included with the game, I'll even plant some trees to make up for the ones you chopped down to make the manual. Rattler
A manual included with the game? Surely you jest here! Me thinks one of Derek's loudest outcries from the beginning has been that all publishers, latest included, have short-changed the Gamers with a woefully inadequate manual provided in the shipment. He even went so far as to almost cancel the deal with Interplay over their ordering his provided manual to be tailored way down below what you actually received. You guys out there didn't know this, and maybe I will go back to the Detention Hold for telling you this. Ultimately, the end result was that you got the manual that you have, paper form, and complete manual on CD or no deal. That's how it ended up on CD instead of being shipped with complete manual. That being said, I think you'll be pleased with what comes with BC3020. Derek won't let us down. Never HAS, Never Will!SC, If I'm incorrect on this, please advise, and provide correct data.------------------ Rattler, Spectre, Insurgent One Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104
Guest Ron Wallin
phairfan, DS has also made a printed (paper) version of the manual for the existing game avail at the Galcom Online Store: http://www.bc3000ad.com/store/ Please, in the future, do some research before blindly posting ideas that have already been addressed.Cmdr. Guest Antti Junkkari
Yup, a manual with The Game would be welcome. I think a 'paperbook' manual works better than digital. You can read it sametime your BC is driving with AP on, and you don't have to turn pause on, or just slow down your computer. I always get pissed off when MS Flightsims don't have real manuals, just electronics. Man it was great on the good old MSFS4 days, I used to put my Learjet to AP, and to fly it from LA to Seattle and read the whole manual from page to page, again and again, and that's why I'm so good at sims hehe Anyway, please, no digital manual!------------------ Cmdr Junkkari at GCV-Karhu Orion Fleet Leader www.orionf.pp.fi icq: 2506142 "If you want peace, you must prepare for war.." Gallion
Use your printer and kill some trees or place an order through TRADCOM if you want a hardcopy manual. I enjoy killing trees, keeps the inkjet heads clean on my printer.
Supreme Cmdr
I guess someone was not reading GNN when I was up in arms against Interplay for trimming the manual from 166 pages to 40 pages. Thanks for mentioning that Rattler.Apart from that, v2.0 is a value title and you don't get into that price range by printing 166 page manuals. At least that was Interplay's stance. Only problem is, I was told this after after I signed. Frontline titles get full manuals and BC:3020AD won't be any different. In fact, this is why I took it upon myself to do a printed manual. Check the store.[This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 02-13-99).]
Guest Antti Junkkari
Yes, I very well do know that there is already a printed manual in the 'store'. Since next thing I'm purchasing is BC3020AD, I hope there's a manual with it. Because I'm not gonna buy that manual what is available now.------------------ Cmdr Junkkari at GCV-Karhu Orion Fleet Leader www.orionf.pp.fi icq: 2506142 "If you want peace, you must prepare for war.." Guest Psycho
Interplay do do full manuals for their full price games. I have Baldurs Gate, comes with 160 page manual, and you need every page.
Guest
Like Gallion said, Kill some trees dude!!! My inkjet is real clean now. over 200 pages all together including the trade docs and all the rest. I'll be putting them in a 3 ring binder with indexes for quick reference. Run your printer ragged or order it from the Galcom store, but leave the SC alone, he's working hard on 3020 and doesn't have time for things that have already been addressed.
