Good idea, Tac. I had completly forgotten about escort duty missions, which will probably the most common. I'll be sure to include that in my already full training program. And, Gallion, just a little something to think about: if B.A.C. are so obviously superior to a collection of fighters, why do fighters even exsist? Eh? ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Fighter Commander Sationed, Wraith HQ "The underestimated weapon will deal overestimated havoc." =Wraith Fleet=

Great comic! Some people can really cut to the bone! Let me tell you folks something, though...after you get through all these training programs I'm preparing, that maintence fellow isn't going to see you big apes very often! ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Fighter Commander Sationed, Wraith HQ "The underestimated weapon will deal overestimated havoc." =Wraith Fleet=

A fact of life... Yea, sure. Whatever. Who here watchs the Discovery Channel? Ever seen any of those shows where a bunch of small, vicious hyenas take down a big ol' water buffalo? Your going to be that water buffalo, Gallion. While a buffalo can dish out a powerful hind kick, take loads a damage, and is just plain big, it's out numbered. The hyenas swarm on the poor beast, doing small bites here and there, and the buffalo can't make up its mind which hyena to attack, because as soon as one stops another starts. And even if that buffalo does take out a hyena or two, there's still more of them than the buffalo. And, Gallion, how do you intend on fighting us? PTA? A PTA's tracking speed is so slow and does so little damage for a reasonable recharge rate, fighters will have any easy time doging thier puny little blasts. Heck, a flight has 4 fighters, and a BC's PTA only has three turrets. So you won't even have a lock on all of them! Perhpas you'll try to use the main laser for the last one, eh? Can't, you'll never hit it. Your average fighter can outmaneuver even a decoupled laser. Missiles? Don't make me laugh! Modern jamming devices make missiles a moot point for anything that doesn't stand still. And even in the off chance that a missiles makes a lock, the typical fighter can run circles around a homing missile. So if you can't shoot us, Gallion, your only hope would be to rely on your big fancy armor and your big fancy shields. Well, 4 Vagrants up your tailpipe will fix that in a hurry! I hope I'm not scaring you away, Gallion. We can use all the practice we can get! Just make sure you have a shuttle ready in case anything "unfortunate" should happen! No training? Well, okay. (PILOTS! GO PLAY EXTREME CARNAGE!) I can't wait untill we got some regular practice sessions going on, though. Ohh, you guys are gonna love some of the stuff I'm cooking up! But, Gallion, a good amount of stratagy and teamwork is part of being a pilot. As an individual or group of individulas, fighters are not even a threat, I admit that. Saying we can't train beforehand is like saying you can't read the manual you battle us. It isn't even a comparison. Come to think of it, why do you insist that we not practice? You can practice solo arse-whipping any ol' day in your Battlecrusier, but we'll be using ships we haven't even flown yet! Do you not confidence in your B.A.C., so you insist a veteran commander go up against a bunch of green pilots? And perhaps I am jumpimg the gun a bit, since none of us has experience playing as a group in a Battlecruiser fighter. But I am confident that a properly trained flight could take out any capital ship, regardless of size and armament. So bring it on, Boss...*gasp*!I just realized that I've picked a fight with the guy who signs my paycheck! Ho, wait! I got his boss flying with me! He, he! In that case, bring it on, Gallion! You won't just be fighting me, you won't just be fighting the majority of active Wraith people, you'll be fighting TAC! Wee! This is going to be great! ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Fighter Commander Sationed, Wraith HQ "The underestimated weapon will deal overestimated havoc." =Wraith Fleet=

[rp] Okay, so I admit that Earthcom is in bed with Galcom, which is also around to protect its nations from internal warfare. But where did you get this information that states Galcom Navy is composed mostly of Earthcom ships? Sure, Sol has all sorts of Earthcom running about, but as I keep saying, there's more to Galcom than just Sol! Oh! I'm eccentric! I always wanted to do that! And be sure, with Galcom being a free and equal government, I feel no qualms stating that I personally feel that Earth would be in better hands with the Insurrgents, as long as they stuck with thier admirable ideals once they control Earth. Flaw with my logic? Do you think that if the Insurgents don't concentrate on Earth they will get it? True, Galcom is in this because Earthcom wanted help repelling your people, but that is just a part of Galcoms duty to its nations. If the Insurrgents played they're diplomacy good enough, Galcom might even SUPPORT the Insurrgent cause! We'd have to move HQ, though. I never liked it around Earth anyways. I've always though Tramis was a much better location, more central. Of course, I'm rather outspoken with my peers, but that's okay. I have every right to be eccentric! And that's why we're upset. Think about how many episodes of Star Trek we'd miss!

Its an old, old beef against socialism, and all that's ever been said has been said. You asked for a poll, I give you poll. Sorry I got evangelical, I'll take that first URL off now. Look into history and what Marx wrote, that's all I'll say to defend my beliefs. I have no intrest in stirring up dust here. All that's been said either way has already been said, and I'd hate to screw up your poll just to get into an old debate that would be mostly mud-slinging. This will be the last time I post on this thread.

Good point, Hector. Guess that "car" still needs a little more time in the "shop", eh?

Democrats, Republicans, Democrats,Republicans.... Sigh. It's a shame that only the richest and most meida-friendly canidates from the Big Three (Demos, Repubs, and Indipens) get reconized. What about the perfeclty good folks running who you never even hear of? Well, you're about to hear of one of them. I haven't the faintest idea what "wing" I'm sitting on...but I am sure of what I want in a president.A fellow who thinks the way I do. That's the democratic process, right? Voting for the guy who represents your opinion? And instead of telling you folks my opinions, I'll tell you who I'd vote for. David Ernest McReynolds. What, never heard of him? I'll give you a hint on the sort of politician he is. You can find his name on the Socialist ballot. Now I'm not pushing socialism here, I'm just encourging anyone who doesn't like any of the Big runners to check out this site: http://www.vote-smart.org/ , which gives all the runners equal space to represent themselves. You'd be downright shocked to look at the HUGE list they have of people hankerin' to lead America. Opp, sorry, off topic. Well, I'm a voting Socialist, that's my input in this little poll. quote:But it would seem that we are at war with GALCOM as well, though why isn't clear. Just that ingame GALCOM ships fire on Insurgents. Now, see? This is what might be at the heart of this topic. Note: what I am about to say puts into question one the most favorite institutions on this board, the hate/hate realationship between Galcomers and Insurrgents. This doesn't mean I really think we should all get together and hold hands, 'cause that's not very fun! But think about it. Why did Galcom and the Insurrgents start fighting each other? After looking throught the manual, I found this (not quoting): as Sol became aware and began assoicating with alien races, they also spent an increasing amount of resources on millitary and exploration, areas which the Insurrgents believed were already highly over budget. When Galcom was formed, under the consent of Earthcom and the Emperian and Vesperon governments, the starstaion around Earth was converted into Galcom HQ. Now, I have a theroy: to a people already weary of alien intervention, the Insurrgents saw this as the final straw, in which Earthcom had now annexed entire alien nations. Believing Earthcom was the real ruler of this new galactic union, the Insurrgents merely declared war on this new manifestation of thier old enemy. Nowadays, Earthcom has sunken into the backround, while the Insurrgents have apperered to all but forgotten about thier real foe, and spend the vast amount of thier resources fighting three unified nations, instead of just one little planet. [rp] "Freedom for Earth!", you often cry, so why do you fight a govenment that holds no direct jurisdiction of Earth? If you're going to wage a war, Insurrgents, wage it with the right folks! Galcom's still in this fray because you people keep attacking us! If you just concentrate on Earth, you'll probably get it! [rp] Insurrgents have anything to say about this? All satements of fact are from the Almighty Manual Herself , and all the stipulations are gleaned from it. Anyone have a different idea of what went on? ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Fighter Commander Sationed, Wraith HQ "The underestimated weapon will deal overestimated havoc." =Wraith Fleet=

Orion Starstation: The Orion Lounge part #2
Whisper replied to Joseph Bosch's topic in Role Playing Discussions
[rp] As Damas ordered a bowl of chile, Liev couls smell the strong orange stench of Tang on his pilots breath. And considering Liev had a cold, that was saying somthing. He was drinking some highly watered down Tang now, so that should bring his high down a little. Liev contemplated his current drink, and decided that he would pass on the pineapple juce untill he washed the sharp feeling of soda water out with a glass of water. Fizzy pineapple juice was something to disgusting to dwell upon. Speaking of disgusting, Damas had recivied his meal (quick service!) and had begun slurping and chomping it quite excessively, producing large amounts of questionable noise. Normal a neat and reserved eater, the mixture of Tang and Mexican spices had sent his pilot into a, how did he put it?, "snarf fest". The spectacle to his side rather disturbing, Liev looked about the room. Aside from the usual intoxicated inhabitants of a bar, he noticed two gentlemen seated in a booth in one of the better lighten areas of the room. One of them looked quite happy as he brought his glass up to his campanion. Liev also noticed one of the few solitary figuers in the room, nursing a glass of gin or water. He looked just a tad bored, as if he came here for more than just drink. Definetly water, then. Suddenly an idea lept into Liev's mind. Ho ho!, what a sight this will be!, he thought. Liev turned to Klark, who had finished his chili and was belching contentedly. "Damas..." Klark looked up suddenly, as if returning from a dream. Or in the state he's in, getting back into one, thoought Liev wryly. "Damas, why don't you talnk to that lonely lookng fellow over tere?" "Who...him?" "Yea, I tink heet lookingt ftor someun to talnk to." Liev sniffed and blew his nose. "Why don't you go talke to him?" That was slightly uncalled for. Damas knew that his commander suffered from the socially crippling inability to open a converstion. However, by the sound of his voice, Liev figured his pilot was playing with him. "I don wan to spreand tis colnd." Liev replied raspingly. "Oh. Okay!" Damas replied cheerfully, then strolled off to the solitary figure. You're looking that up, but I'd just like to throw this in. I may be wrong, but the negative energy would create a...let me put it this way. The hypothetical car would be traveling through the air. The air on the outside is the same on the inside (read: physical laws and nature), but the car has a barrier of metal (read: negative energy). SO the "outside" and "inside" are exactly the same, it's just the stuff in between that makes everything screwy.

And in regards to recruiting, I'm just going to wait around a bit untill the actual GAME comes out. I plan on grabbing people of the public servers. What do we do? Well, I could answer that, but intead I'll do something that is much more time consuming and ultimately better. I'm working on a WFC "handbook" so to speak, so that "what we do" will be explained to excruciating detail, like the RTFM that everyone keeps talking about. As soon it is done and approved and stuff, I'll send it out to all of ya. Oh, and I'd appreciate it if post concerning how puny and weak fighters are would be put into the "Fighter Command" topic thread. This place is fo recruiting, not chasing away, Gallion. ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Sationed, Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet= [This message has been edited by Whisper (edited 06-13-2000).]

[rp, somewhat] All right, Gallion, I offically challenge you to a fight! Me, and my fellow "pea-shooters" as you so eliquently put it, will wipe that air of smugness from your face after BCM comes out! As soon as possibly, I am going to personelly oversee the training of Wraith pilots! Training! Let's see how your big, fancy B.A.C. (love that acronym!) will fare under a well trained flight of the fighting forces of WFC (Wraith Fighter COmmand)! I bet when you were wipping up space with the poor, innocent NPC's you didn't see a Interceptor fly backwards while pumping a fistul of Vagrents into your nice plush B.A.C.'s bridge! Better yet, when was the last time you saw two NPCs performing a complex evasive maneuver while leading you into the gaping jaws of death? Perhaps that smile from your face, oh dear CO, while be found missing when a crafty shuttle renders your oh so mighty carrier a sitting duck for the forces of the many and skilled! But we don't need you to be holding still. Oh no! A massive carrier lumbbers along slow enough that it might as well be stopped, compared with the speed and grace of a Viper! And who needs Vagrent missiles? Are you familliar with "counting cu"? Give me a squadron, and I'll give you the smoldering remains of a pompous commander! HAHAHAHAHA! A fight then, you who cowers behind tons of titanium, big guns, shields, turrets, missles, mines...uh...no, no! Yes! We CAN and we WILL defeat you! You who hides behind massive weapons of massive destruction! Wraith Fighter Command will show you what REALLY triumphs in modern space combat: brute and unfocused power, or the sharp cutting lasers of skilled men and women piloting fine weapons of death! I'm betting on the cutting edge! [rp] While it will be a few months, Gallion, mark my words. When we have finished our training programs, we will TAKE YOU ON! Message to pilots: a life insurance upgrade package is being offered by Galactic Goodbye Insurence Inc. Upgrade today, recive two additional clones, and a little more compensation in case you forgot to submit your blood samples. ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Sationed, Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet= [This message has been edited by Whisper (edited 06-13-2000).]

Before I move on to the topic, I'd just like to say something about Damas, whom I've had the pleasure to work with for several years: If he ever psots something that was not intened to be off the wall, silly, and outrageuosly illogical, someone has hacked into his account 'cause it ain't Damas that's posting! Topic: My understanding of realitivity is that if any ship attempted to reach the speed of light, it would require infinite (there's that "i" word again!) fuel, would have infinite mass, and anyone insdie would get crushed into an rather thin film of grease. Now what Aramike said about something needing to achive the properties of light to go that fast is true, but not very useful in terms of travel. If an object could achive the same properties of light, it WOULD be light, and particles don't make very good sailboats. With this "warp drive" I mentioned, as the hypothosis goes, the negative energy bubble would create a seperation between the outside and inside of the, er, field. The inside would act a little like its own little universe, and doesn't interact with ours. By that I mean traveling really (+FTL) fast in this universe would have no affect on the "mini-verse" inside the bubble. The best way to picture it (from what I understand) is like traveling in a car: even though the outside is moving real fast and winds is blowing this way and that, the passengers in the car don't feel anything. If one would read the wind as being such forces as gravity and intertia, and the car is this "warp drive" thing, perhaps this is the general idea of negative energy travel. Tac- So what if I have the Star Trek orginal tech manual, Next Generation tech manual, and the blueprints for Picard's Enterprise, as well as models of all the Enterprises and Voyager, and could quote any episode from any series besides DS9 (which is evil)? Does that really make me a Trekker?
-
What sort of shovel would one use? Seriously, any ideas on a mechanism for a FTL drive? I'd like to put forward an idea a extracted from Scientific American: use exotic matter to create negative energies, and doing it in such a way that would produce a wormhole. Aramike, you know anything about negitive energy? I picked up the term in that article (forget issue, will look it up) a metioned above. Sounds kinda nifity. Another mode of transport the author suggested was a "warp drive", where the negitive energy would do that tunneling thing sort of. If there was a "thicker" amount of negitive energy at the rear of this "warp bubble" around the ship, then it could travel faster than light. Don't ask me for explainations, I don't understand the mechanics of any of it. But does anyone have an intriging idea on how a device could exploit tunneling through space/time? [This message has been edited by Whisper (edited 06-12-2000).]

I'm terribly sorry, Aramike. I had reseverations about that post, but I did it anyway becasue I thought I worded it in a way that would be non-insulting. I was obviously wrong. I in no way whatsoever intened to call you a liar, or be insulting, and I didn't read your posts well enough, as inturns out. Everything that you said I agree with, it all seemed okay. I had no intention of a debate or anything. The only reason I made the post was because your posts were sounding a little matter-of-facty. Not knowing your writing style well enough, I misread and thought people who aren't acquainted with quantum physics would assum that everything you mentioned was proven to be true. It is shown to be now that you knew waht you were doing. (Note: no scarasm intened.)

[rp] I do admit that Cmdr. Hugo has ben a bit ling on his propaganda and a bit short on his history, but look at it this way: there will ALWAYS be a better way of running things, and there will ALWAYS be someone saying they know it and others don't. But look at Galcom. Most humans tend to forget that while Galcom's headquarters is orbiting Earth, Galcom does not just reperesent Earth or the Sol system. Galcom is the only inherently peaceful collation of races in the galaxy. While it is true that Galcom has done some pretty despicable things in it's past, our core goal has always been to extend peace to other races and worlds, because with peace come safty, security, and happiness. While I admit I admire the goal of the Insurgency to bring down a corrupt governement, I am disapointed by the Insurrgent goal to bring down Galcom. As we speak, the worlds of Galcom are trying to liberate a repressed and exploited people, the Falakries, from what I belive we can all agree is the most frightening and dangerous race in the galaxy, the Gammulans. You Insurgents, to me, seem to be confused. You lash out at Galactic Command, a group that strives for harmony of all people, of all planets, of all civillizations, while your real enemy is Earth Command. I openly admit I have no love for Earth. I was born and raised on beatiful Centris, and my entire carrer I have spent defending our brother Empirians from raiders, Gammulans, mercnearys, and even Insurrgents. I look upon Earth in pity, for while it is the home of my race, it has fallen into corruption. This I admit. And while I also admit killing your people, Insurgents, I also feel very sad. I see you attacking a peacful people who have done you no wrong, and courageus and idealistic lives are wasted because you are misdirected in your actions. When I left home, I had tw paths I could have gone down, two groups I could have strenghtend. In the begining, I was tempted to join the Insurrgent cause, because they strove toward freedom and liberty for Sol. But instead I chose Galcom, which strived for liberty and freedom for the galaxy. But there is another reason I chose Galcom. While the Insurrgents are by nesscity a millitary driven organization, Galcom strives for freedom by non-violoent venues. If the Insurrgents "take over", they will control and organize the only way they know how, by millitary action. But Galcom, already a group that knows how to run a governement, rules by vote and peace, and strives for the good for all. Even in my short time in Wraith, I have seen Galcom at its very best. Even now, brave men and women are spending thier lives in the hope that the Falakries, our nieghbors and brothers in this small galaxy, will soon once again remember what it is like to be free. Insurrgents, you have a most powerful hate, and use it like a sharp knife to cut down your enemies. But your aim is poor, and instead of lashing out at your true foes, you damage a people that might have even helped you in your quest. [rp] That's long. And a bit futile I suppose. You think the SC would let Galcom help the Insurrgence and take out EarthCom ? Boy, that would be a turn of the tables . ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Sationed, Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet= [This message has been edited by Whisper (edited 06-10-2000).]

Orion Starstation: The Orion Lounge part #2

[rp] At first Liev did not notice the newcomer, to caught up in his own affairs. But then the newcomer began to make himself extremely noticable, attempting to convice a chair that the comments to his mother were unwarrented. After a brief but heated debate, the newcomer had apparently lost the argument. He then looked up, spotted Liev, and qickly and with much haste strolls over to him. Liev now realizes that the newcomer is Damasceus Klark, a new pilot in Wraith. At first surprised that he had failed to recognize his old friend, Liev realized that his error was to due to the most strangley shaped wig that his pilot was wearing. Liev sighed, and rememered his comrade's past "experiments" with Tang. Depending on when his forst drink was and how many he had afterward, Damas would be in this state for another 2-3 days. The best anyone could do was cope. Liev accepted the drink and took a sip. Damas proceeded to inhale his, and then began ranting to what apperaed to be the air duct about the state of disrepair his guest quarters were in. Liev settled back and prepared himself to enjoy the spectacle. Perhpas it would take his mind off work for a little while. "Glad you coulnd make it, Damas. Pardon my voice, I tink I have a colnd." Liev rasped. "ACHOOO!" [rp] Pardon the mess, fellows, but Damas' mind tends to be a lttle untidy on weekends . ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Sationed, Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet= -
Pretty niffty stuff there, Aramike. I've dabbled in a little bit of quantum physics myself, taking a class or two. Just a little reminder for you though; almost nothing in quantum physics is proved, and alot of the ideas that are out there right now are eqaully valid (deja vu too? A scientist always has an open mind...). I forget who, but some really high-up quantum physicst guy once said, "Anyone who claims to understand quantum physics is lying." I'm not saying your lying, per say, but perhaps a little...to sure. I'm no expert either, I;m just giving you a little freindly warning. If one is too deeply seated in ones beliefs, one should be aware that the airbag of truth misses he who is deepest in his knowalge . And fer all those who haven't a clue wih what dear Aramike is jabbering about, might I suggest a lovely little book on entry-level quantum physics: "Alice in Quantumland", by Robert Gilmore. Great little read, no math (YEA!) and this dude IS a physicst!

Orion Starstation: The Orion Lounge part #2
Whisper replied to Joseph Bosch's topic in Role Playing Discussions
[rp] "AHHCHOOO!" Liev snarled, wipped his oversized Welsh nose, and continued to the bar. While he was thankful of his recent promotion, the last few weeks had been hell. When Liev took his postion as Fighter Commander for Wraith Fleet, he knew his work was cut out for him. Ever since that fiasco with the Gammulans, Wraith support units have been being ripped to shreds, requiring a massive recruitment campain to keep those capital craft stocked with pilots. On top of that, a solid infrastructure for support craft was never really set up in Wraith, leaving Liev to oversee ALL the mundane craft reqs, training results, readiness reports, fuel prices, ect ect. In a desperate effort to make things into something coherent, Liev had been fliting around from station to station, for the past several weeks, assinging subordinates so that he might have time for acutally doing his job, planning strategy, and getting the rosters filled up. He also needed time to get accquantied with Wraith's...unique... operations structure. But the Type 1 shuttle he was using (all the larger ships were busy with the Insurgies and Gammulans) was not designed for such extend use without servicing. Since last Monday, Liev's shuttle had developed life support problems, bringing his cabin temperture to about -2 Celcius. Thanks to the inept flight technicans, the Fighter Commander of Wraith Fleet had developed an accute cold, and was now beging to suspect he had the flu as well. However, on Centris he had of the legendary Orion Lounge, hub of hobb-nobbing Galcom executives and place were heroes were born. His commrades on Centris insisted that he bring back a few momentos from this bar of champions, and Liev had agreed to bring a mug or two when he returned for a vist. Later, Liev discovered that at the exact same time he had a few days rest, he would be in the Jupiter system. Deciding that now was the time to collect the promised trinkets, he decided to take a well-neeeded break and stay in Orion for a few days. Liev also secretly admitted to himself that he wanted to take a peek at the giants of Galcom, and perhaps even meet one! His C.O. was also rummored to hand around these parts, and Liev was eager to meet the one called Gallion. Liev stepped into the fabled Orion Lounge, and took in the sights when his eyes ajusted to the dim light. Liev saw numerous drunkards, boasters, braggers, and even just a few passed out with the evenings pleasures. This is it?, he thought. The Centris Cantina had more warriors then this place! Smelled better too, he thought, as the stench of rotten beer breath reached his honker. Perhaps I'll see what this place is all about during my stay. With another violent sneeze, Liev placed himself at the bar. "Milk and soda", he rasped to the barkeep, the cold reducing his voice to a whisper. As the drink was prepared, Liev looked about for a news datapad. [rp] And thus, humble me enters the rp sence ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Sationed, Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet= [This message has been edited by Whisper (edited 06-08-2000).] -
When I read that article the SC put up, it peaked my intrest. I know now this is going to sound incredible, but...before now I have never heard of John Romero. I don't subcribe to any gaming magazines or Times or anything, so that may be it. Anyways, I eventually got the Daikatana message board at http://www.ionstorm.com/ubb/cgi-bin/forumd...=100&LastLogin= Big URL. But check this thing out! I was shocked! On this message board we have a supportive and hospitable group of gamers who all have at least one thing in common. But on THAT message board...whoa. Looking Glass died for that!? What a waste, waste waste. Edios should have pulled the plug on that disaster (the game) after the third year, when the entire bloody team walked out on Romero. Read what most of those people say about the game. And THAT replaced Thief III, System Shock III, and who knows what other titles Looking Glass would have dreamed up. Sick, sick, sick.
-
As aramike stated, his method is a simpler way to get some cash. For those people who are intimidated by command line operations, this is an effective (but sloooow) way of getting them big bucks. Hm! Vagrants on the shuttles! I never thought of that! Of course, why bother with missiles at all when you have the Trans-Matrix cloak and PAD? After all, if your going to cheat, you might as well go all the way.
-
Alright...you're all in. Except for ol' spoilsport Gallion. Now that we there are enough people, I have activated a new flight, somewhat S.O.G. As time goes by, you new recruits will find yourself promoted up to command postionsm like Squaderon and Fighter Group COmmander. This new flight group, known henceforth as Flight Wraith, is composed of the vets...well, the people who will be vets after the game comes out. Every once in a while I might decide that you old boys need some action, so I'll bring Flight Wraith togehter and remind you fellows what's it's like to fly. Flgiht Wraith is not attached to any squadron or fighter group, and it won't go into action very frequently. It's mostly there as a reminder to all the pilots (once we get them) that the big boys were once n the cockpit too. Shiva, Bandus, and J.Smith are now the members of Flight Wraith, lead by the first pilot of them all, Ranger. Just thought you'd like to know, in case one day I send you commanders off to take out New America all by yourselfs. ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Sationed, Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet=

Man oh man oh man. No Looking Glass? Darn. They gave me new hope in the tired old first person shooter genre when I played Thief. It's not many time when a company makes ONE orginal title, but Looking Glass made it their speciality. Show's where the Industry has it's priorities, eh?
-
Straight from our Fleet Commanders mouth: "All Wraith personnel will be in Fighter Command as well." You heard it! From the sounds of it, all non-executives in Wraith Fleet (i.e. Battlecruiser Cmdr.) are strongly encourged under penalty of death and no dessert to sign up with Wraith Fighter Command. Don't worry, I'll make sure all you pansies get nice safe cargo runs. Promotions are based on seniority, so sign up quick before you're hauling magazines and combat kits fer the rest of your life. ------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Wraith Fleet Fighter Command Wraith HQ "We Will Be There" =Wraith Fleet=
