  1. Per Blades last post on page 1 I still have him in Pluto's space at the jump gate for Jupiter.... [rp] Tension on the bridge has been growing exponentially waiting for the other shoe to drop. Where could that GCV-Deterence be? I just love playing Russian Roulette with a loaded pulsar. "Flight Ops, take the last short range probe and send it into Pluto. I want it scanning and reporting before it gets in-system." At the same time the scope reports the scanner Samantha has the recorder going. The Flight Ops officer, McGregor, works the controls maneuvering the probe. A few seconds later the probe vanishes, jumping into Pluto's local space. Samantha's link lasts all of 2 seconds. "Well, anyone interested in following that probe in?" I gently ask, with a slight half-smile. The looks I received back were quite comical considering the fact that I had NO intention of receiving the probes fate. The crew, however, had no such assurance. Not to leave them suffering too long, chuckling I answer their looks "Me neither. Samantha, what was overthere?" Punching the rewind button, she starts the replay in frame by frame mode. "Sir, the GCV-Deterence and the GCV-Tsunami. The probe didnt' last long enough for anymore then that." Yea, but as long as that probe lasted in Pluto's space one or both of them must be parked on the jump point. Which means that in a few minutes the ICV-Drakr could resemble swiss cheese or worse, a solar flare. Now I'm really starting to sweat. "Ngyuen, get me another link to Akira." "McGregor, I want this ship cloaked the instant either of those ships appears." "Samantha, disable PTA, set the IOD at 100%, store the vagrants and load up the slots with whatever STS missles that are left. HOLD all fire until I give the order." Glancing at Ngyuen she gives me the go-ahead nod. ********************** Cmdr. Akira, this is Cmdr. Wold. we just launched a short range probe through the Pluto jump gate. The probe lasted all of two seconds. The GCV-Deterence has been joined by the GCV-Tsunami. Any specific orders, Sir? Cmdr. Wold out. ********************** Ngyuen sends the message as soon as I give her the cut sign and the viewscreen erupts in a flashes of light from the mines marking the entrance of the GCV-Deterence. The officers had already fulfilled my requests except for the missles, only eight were loaded. Samantha, understanding my intent, had also killed the active radar and reactivated the dormant probe.[/rp] ------------------ Cmdr. 2. Jupiter space [rp] Lazing in the command chair chewing on flat, hard biscuit that would resemble pilot bread and spam mixed, thinking "Man this food tasts good! Nothing like battle to make ship-board nutripacs tast better. Oh, crap!" starteling myself and biting the inside of my cheek hard enough to make my eyes water. My logistix officer, Lt. Mark chuckles and responds, "What, forget your aniversery?" "No, not quite that bad, but very close. I forgot to update Cmdr. Akira. Ngyuen, get me a comm link to ICV-Nevermore." "Yes Sir, just a sec." A couple of seconds later, "Link established." **************************** Cmdr. Akira, Cmdr. Wold here. Previous orders received and acknowledged. ICV-Drakr is in Jupiter space and two shuttles and all ICs were dispatched to Varan. Be advised, TacOps spotted the GCV-Deterance in Pluto heading to Jupiter just before we jumped. Cmdr. Wold clear. **************************** Finishing the message I go back to my previous task of gingerly eating the brown, nutricious hockey-puck.[/rp] I'm aware that the real GCV-Deterence is in Sirius. In case someone missed it, Cmdr. Hamblin covered my previous oops by 'borrowing' the GCV-Deterence tag to scare the mad bunny. ------------------ Cmdr. 3. Bored?!?!? I know I'm not bored... I'm too busy trying to think of what to do next in that rp JOY RIDE quagmire that Cmdr. Akuma sucked me into! 4. Okay, I think I can stay with the game plan now... ICV-Drakr has left Pluto to Jupiter and the 'away' team has jumped into Alpha Centari before GCV-Tsunami's arrival into Pluto. [rp] As ICV-Drakr heads back to the Jupiter jump my thoughts get mired down in second-guessing my most receint decissions. Well I conclude to myself, what's done is done. Lt. Ngyuen cocks her head sideways, "Sir, Alpha 21 secure message comming in, patching through to your datapad now." As soon as the message light flashes on the datapad I slap the id plate with my right hand and impatiently wait for clearance process. Finally the message appears on my screen: ********************* ... Belay order. Return to Jupiter space best speed. Readiness report ASAP. Flt. Cmdr. Akira ********************* I thumb the acknowledge button while addressing Ngyuen, "Comms, new orders for awayteam, affective immediatly, transmit when ready. Orders as follows: Lynx team, lemming hunt off, assist base with plan zeta. RTB to home station when completed. Authentication code: jf-7893gd93w32." I finish nod." Several minutes later in Jupiter space not much has changed. There still appears to be a stand-off between the ICV-Nevermore, the GCV-Tenchi, and GCV-Sark. Well, first things first. Time to prepare the offense. Not having an IC screen available I need to come up with some added fire-power. "Tactical, what's our current mine status?" Samantha punches up the loadout screen and her expression turns sour. "Not a full load, Sir. We have five crabs and five leeches and none in inventory." I digest this information for several seconds wondering if I should shoot the wad. "Samantha, put three crabs around the emergance point and two leeches on the emergence point." "Logistix, reconfigure power levels and weapons for close combat." The only exterior visible change was the solar panels folding up and being tucked away into their armor plated hold. Other not so noticable changes was launch control, cloning module, transporter, and tractor beam being disabled. At the same time shields, IOD, and PTA systems were set to maximum. Looking at the count-down clock the wait begins... 15 minutes......10 minutes......5 minutes......1 minute remaining.... "Cloaking engaged....NOW, Cmdr." Meanwile in another far away system.... Flight Engineer Lt. JG Ralphinheimer, otherwise known as Lt. Ralph, was piloting Lt. Cmdr Schlynk and his command through the jump point into Varan space. Lt. Ralph purses his lips and shaking his head, "I don't know, Sir., they cloaked as soon as we hit in system." Schlynk stares at the scope, then the viewscreen, then back at the scope wanting to curse and bless his fortune at the same time. I've got NO training for this, how could Cmdr. Wold pick me for this!? Four ICs against a battlecruiser, oh yea, and two shuttles for targets. At least the BC can shoot back slips into his mind. The avalanch of images triggered by that last thought storms through his mind. Images of the "guilty" condemned to death by his hands at GALCOMS orders. Orders by officers unwilling to do their own dirty intelegance work. Ignorance was 'bliss' at the time but now, now it's the fuel for the guilt. Squeezing his eyes closed while pinching the bridge of his nose with his left hand he pushes the ghosts back with a final thought. I'm not killing unarmed civilians and I finally got a Cmndr. willing to do his own dirty work. With renewed will power and a cleared mind, Schlynk opens his eyes. Just as he opens his mouth to order the destruction of the GCV-Kuri when the shuttle rocks from a blast. Schlynk questions a look at Ralph. Ralph shrugs as he responds "I think they are using their transporter to drop mines on us, Sir." Without thinking Schlynk begins rolling orders out, having no clue as to where the ideas came from. "Shuttles, fluctuating speeds with a zig-zag pattern and as shields drop rotate the leading shuttle back. ALL ICs begine mine sweeping NOW!" Time to ride the wave and hope they ran out of mines real soon. A flashing light gets Schlynks attention. He flips the switch and the comms screen pops up scrolling his new orders. Relieved that he no longer has to send the ICs up against the battlecruiser, he pulls up the zeta plans and contacts the base station. "All right people, new orders. Both shuttles to jump to Varan escorted by ICs 3 & 4. IC's 1 & 2, ground base is reporting a probe, take it out and then fly cover for the shuttles. Execute! Schlynk, clear." As they approach Varan the flight engineer begins rolling off a damage report for all ships. Couple of engines damaged, shield generator, nav computer, armor, atv, and lots more. At least no ships destroyed. Not yet anyway.... Pushing the comms button for the standard GALCOM visual in-system hailing frequency, Schlynks waits. After several seconds a very poor link is established. Using a soft, quiet yet somehow un-nerving voice, "Remember me Cmdr. Hasaki? My orders have just been changed. If you are still in this region when I'm finished with my current orders, I will come after you." Back in Jupiter's space: The chess game has begun and I'm losing.... No ship and cloaking has been on for six minutes and a total of twenty minutes has passed since jumping in. Disengaging the cloaking device I punch the all-ship hail; "Alright, I don't know where they are but we are staying right here until something gives or a superior tells us otherwise. We are maintaining a red alert. I want everyone to get something to eat, on station. And leave your combat suits on. I know the plumbings bloody uncomfortable and creates a red spot with the urge to itch, but better safe then sorry." I finish with a slight shrug and the old clich`e. Sitting down I notice that my own food has appeared. Nothing like getting shot at with a full stomach. The wait... the worst part besides laying there in agony...[/rp] ------------------ Cmdr. 5. I use a microsoft force feedback joystick for flight control and a couple of programmed commands. Keyboard/mouse for the rest. Though I've wondered about future voice commands..... TacOps for big picture and planet work. quote:I also have a force feedback stick, I asked SC if BCM was going to support force feedback and unfortunately the answer was no. I believe SC was refering to the midi files needed for the force feedback functions as not being supported. I am betting that the joystick will work with BCM just as it does with BC3K. PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong in my er, interpretation, SC. ------------------ Cmdr. Wold Spectre Fleet Spectre Starstation ICV Drakr "Do or do not, there is no try!" 6. uhm, uh, ooops... Thanks Cmdr. Hamblin for fixing my Tactical error. I would hate to have to rewrite all that. I was in Fairbanks on a road trip and was going from memory on a late night. Anyway, I am new at this rp thing and I need a clarification on where Orion is. I'm using the map from the BC3K manual which has Orion orbiting Jupiter's moon Eropa and Vanguard on Ronus IV. From Akuma's 1st post she never left the planetary system where Orion was orbiting and everyone's converging on Jupiter. I'm confused becuase I was under the impression that Blades, Hamblin, and Akuma all started from Orion Starstation which would put them all in Jupiter's space when they launched from Orion, but they aren't there. I seriously hope I just didn't screw things up...! ------------------ Cmdr. Wold Spectre Fleet Spectre Starstation ICV Drakr "Do or do not, there is no try!" 7. getting more confused by 'light-second'..... [rp] Approaching the jump to Pluto IC1 and 2 take their flanking positions at a standard escort distance. Still no response from Cmdr. Akira from that message.... Glancing at the Perscan computer I notice that the 15 marines sweeping the battlecruiser had the last of the intruders cornered. Another few seconds and that problem would go away. I also notice that the cloaking radiation has diminished to zip. Probes limited and hating to jump in hostle territory both blind and wide open.... "Helm, initiate cloaking just before jump. Tactical, put radar on passive and link to the ICs for an active read-out." Computer systems sorting themselves out far faster then I or the rest of my crew lets out that nerve shattering warning of hostles. Being already tense from the day's activities I cant resist glaring at the tacops computer thinking 'Of course there's an enemy in the area! There's ALWAYS an enemy in this area you ....' STOP, yanking my thoughts back under control. Okay... deep breath and hit the red acknowledge button bringing blessed silence. That's better... now, what do we have here? Well, well, what a surprise. That bloody red dot IS the GCV-Deterrence. "Samantha, Let me guess, they're right on course for Jupiter?" She flips me a quick thumbs up. I mutter an exasperated "That's great!" I knew it.... That ship is definately appropriately named. No way am I letting them sneak up on the Insurgents SIC. But my orders...hhhmmmm.. Hah, good, intruders gone. "Schlynk, you've just been 'promoted'. THAT got a startled response! He flinches and looks at me with that uh-oh, I-don't-think-I'm-gonna-like-this stare. I continue on, unfazzed, "grab 20 of those marines and shuttles" I glance at the screen, "and shuttles 3 and 4. I can't be in two places at once, so you're going to fulfill Cmdr. Akir's orders regarding GCV-Kurai. If they abandon ship, tow it to Spectre Starstation, you have 2 minutes to launch." The Insurgency, spitting in the face of tradition, ALWAYS renames Galcom captured ships, and we could use the hardware. Schlynk snaps me a solute, slaves the Nav computer to my station and bolts for the hatch. The logistix officer overhearing my orders powers up the launch control and TacOps barking over the intercom to the marines to grab their crap and hit the decks and prep on the shuttles. During that 2 minutes we're busy disengaging the cloaking device, doing a 180 back to the Jupiter jump point, and launching the 2 shuttles and remaining 2 IC's with orders to all ICs for shuttle escort. I wonder what Cmdr. Foss is going to think when we jump BACK into Jupiter space after launching our brood? "Samantha, Get me an ETA for Cmdr. Foss's arrival into Jupiter, with a count-down." If I time this right and things 'go' as planned (hah) I'll be just right for a wee little ambush and still fulfill my orders.[/rp] ------------------ Cmdr. 8. "Phew" LOL, LOL,LOL....yea, this is making me sweat just thinking about it. Thanks Akira...here goes another 4 hours coming up with a response [rp] Bridge activity has just taken a dramatic jump. Juniors picking up all the 'lost' articles from the sudden panic. Several corpsmen removing Adams carcass for disposal out the nearest airlock with cleaining-bots scrubbing the surrounding deck and walls. Unfortunately for a rookie ensign, the computer cleaning required a human touch. Officers too busy to notice all this as they were putting emergency hatches and safties back in stand-by and then getting back into their normal duties. Schlynk working out several alternative destinations. While Ngyuen, angry and frustrated with herself for not cracking the messages, putting said messages together for immediate send-off. Samantha squeaking information from passive radars. Judging the concentration on her face having about as much success as pulling teeth from a mad dog. Having the feeling that our previous plans had been jeopordized, thanks to Adam, I begin working out new plans. Little did I know that my time would have been better spent NOT making new plans. Our time-table forgotten, cloaking hadn't been enabled, which could be a blessing in disguise. And apperantly Blades and his lemmings were more concerned with GCV-Tenchi then the ICV-Drakr. At least we weren't being lit up like a Christmas tree anyway. "Samantha, we need to know what's going on out there. Go active on the radar." The tactical scanner immediatly lit up with a myriad of mutlit-colored dots. Within a second all fluff information vanashed as Samantha kicked the filters on leaving only the angry red dots.... and one green dot?? Samantha knowing the coming question, "Sir, it's" INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT Drakr's AI suddenly interupts with a non-compasionate but very strong female voice. My eyes roll to the speaker in the ceiling with a glare, thinking I've got to find that intruder cloaning module. Knowing SOP is already ingaged Samantha continues as if nothing happened "Cmder. Akira and the ICV-Nevermore." Surprise, surprise! A big grin breaks across my face. "Ngyuen?" I ask and get an immediate response, "Yes Sir, the package on Adams is ready." "Excellent!" I respond as an after thought hits me.. "Append that text message sent from GCV-Tenchi to Cmdr. Foss to that package. Mark the whole package TOP PRIORITY, IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED, code it and send it ASAP!" Good, won't have to wait to notify my superiors after all! Just before Ngyuen can comply with my request the comm-link light flashes showing an incoming message with an auto-acknowledgement being sent back. quote:Your orders are to procede best speed to Varan. Disable one GCV-Kurai. Ensure that her records are destroyed by any means possible. Raven group will be nearby if you need assistance. Schlynk throws a quick glance at me and begins making course changes again with a slight shake of his head. Probably with wry amusemnet. "Alright people, Cmdr. Akira may change his orders after he reads that package, however; we'll procede as ordered." Drakr turns and leaps into hyperspace heading for the Pluto jump point as an order races to IC1 and 2 to have them join their mothership there. [/rp] follow the bouncing ball as it goes from ship to ship my head begins to swim as my eyes keep up the trip my stomach a swimming i began to phlemming I look at the deck to see a lemming. 9. Um, Akuma, you know you this started out as such a seemingly mellow RP. [RP] As things appeared to be under control I began to think of my more immediate problem and how it relates to GCV-Trenchi. If that message really was correct and those officers were breaking procedure that baddly then Blades is going to tie that commander's tail in a serious krink....if not then Drakr could find herself in the crab pot. As plans swirrled around in my adrenalian-heightened mind, my eyes noticed my second working his way around the bridge. Adam seemed to have a need to mother-hen the officers, yet something was different. He seemed more tense then normal, especially with things under 'control'. It was that tale-tell thing that is more sensed then actually seen. Maybe his face was a bit harder or eyes moving a slightly faster or maybe the flare of his nostrels. Whatever it was I begin to follow his movement from the corners of my eys. Somewhere in that brief time-frame the self-preservation mode of my subconscience kicked in. As Adam begin to approach the unoccupied right side of the command deck my right hand started moving. My hand slowly slid down the outside edge of my command chair until a hidden id plate sensed it. A small snick was heard as an access panel suddenly opened droping an archaic Desert Eagle 50 cal. into my awaiting fingers. Adam, alerted by the unaccustomed sound started turning towards me. The reflection on the bridge door showed a compact needler appearing in his left hand.... The door flies open as an ensign bringing coffee and doughnuts enters the bridge. The sudden, thundering crash accumpanied by the fire flash caused a myriad of events on the bridge. The poor ensign entering the bridge sees his superior officer explode a mere meter from his face causing him, soaked in blood and to dive back through the door. The instinctive reaction of combat experienced officers snapping helmets closed and starting hull-breech procedures and in the process scattering stylus', cups, hard-copy across the bridge. And the stunned, dumb-founded expression of those frozen into immobility. My eyes were locked on Adam. Fifteen hundred foot-pounds of force slamming through his rib cage from the 50 cal. hand cannon. The impact had blown his heart, lungs, and some ribs past his left shoulder-blade bouncing him off the bulkhead with such force to nearly break his neck and to fling the needler 20ft across the deck. As the life was fading from his face the look of a question in his eyes.... "Unauthorized scrambled coms, Adam." I said through the ringing pain in my ears. As I survey the carnage on the bridge there isn't a soul moving. The stunned stares from polaxed minds of everyone trying to comprehened this insanity that has overcome their commander and wondering, I'm sure, who is next? "Yes, Sir?", a war battered face with a distinctly female voice answers the inter-ship com. "Sargeant, I beleive the question has been resolved, rather pointedly I might add. The meeting wont be needed. Please inform Comms Officer Ngyuen to join us on the bridge." The very nervous and semi-frantic gestures from Samantha catch my eye. She hesitates then says "There's a comm-call for you, Sir, from GCV-Tenchi" "Tell them I'm not in the mood to surrender." I respond with far too much snap and bite. "un, Sir, it's a visual from Cmdr. Akuma with an Insurgent scramble..here's what she said Sir." quote:....that you just tried to knock off his agent, well..." She shrugged. "Look, tell Rattler I miss him okay?" Oh, crap... what next? burns through my mind.. "Sir," says Schlynk with a dry, normal sounding voice and the only one with enough guts to further irritate a ticked-off commander with a smoking gun, "maybe we should add to the name Drakr and call her Drakr san Murphy." Despite the gravity of the situation that did bring a chuckle from around the bridge. My mind races through what to say to why bother...just ignore her.... "On screen, full bridge visual." "As you can see, I'm a bit busy right now. No then, your AI's shot didn't do this carnage. This is me keeping my ship. A mostly unoccupied section of deck 2 was your AI's doing. Adam, my SIC (second in command hehe), was (the operative word here) a lemming intel officer. I've had my Comms Officer locked up in sickbay for 2 weeks trying to crack some messages he sent. Your ship sitting in the middle of space with it's pants down presented me with safest opportunity to deal with him or bag an apperent 'incompetent' officer. As for Rattler, I've staked my life on the fact that he judges his commanders actions based on their knowledge at that time. Since I had no prior knowledge of you..." I finish with a shrug. "Oh, Akuma, 2 last things: First, if you need my assitance I'll need more evidence from you besides a possible breached security channel. Second, we copied this unscrammbled text message leaving your ship before the attack." quote:Commander David Foss, I don't think you'll like what I'm going to tell you. The whole crews drinking...And they're on duty. Just thought you should know. -Aleshia Montgomery "Hope you enjoy the pickle your in, glad it isn't mine. "All right people, now you know, back to work." I say sitting down trying to gather my wits about me before some more of 'it' hits the fan. With activity picking up around me I put my sidearm away thinking about the 'harasments' received from others over my prefernce to such an antique weapon. Well, it certainly was effective today. Maybe not as 'clean' as a modern weapon, but it sure can make an impression. I wonder what is running through Cmdr. Akuma's mind about now...? 12. And now the wait.... and the thoughts that come unbidden. One can just feel the tension in Drakr begining to climb as the infernal clock ticks down as we approach the jumb point. The nervous glances by ensigns wondering if their Skipper got it right...the taps on keyboards by officers double-checking their work or the operational status of equipment already verified. And those of us who left GalCOM wondering if there are former friends on that battlecruiser we're about to attack. What about Hughhh... Oh I hate that feeling stomach-twisted-seven-different ways, my inner-ear telling me I'm on a spin cycle in the old style clothes dryer and that lovely acid flavor at the back of my throat. I HATE jumps, but they are effective in getting the mind back on track... Schlynk did a bang-up job again, right on track and thank The Good Lord, no mines! Passive radar shows no apparent changes and four minutes to target. A brief, emotional 'lull' before the sudden slam of adrenelian from shots fired in combat. "Missles away, PTA active...cloaking systems deactivate...probe shut down..." The roll of combat converstation flooding the bridge from officers too busy to bother waiting for a response. WHUUUMMP!! The deck surges and Drakr rolls drunkenly to one side like an old navy ship rolling with a wave at sea. DANG, either they WERE awake or that battlecruiser's AI was active. At least we should be clear now and it would take a miracle for them to be able to hit us again. "Engineering, give me a damage report!" A breathless, hoarse response comes in over the intercom. "Sir, looks like", couple of racking coughs, "a slight hull breech on deck two, multiple injuries and no fatalities. Good thing that deck was cleared except for some engineering personnel. Lots of smoke. Hey, GET THAT HELMET ON, NOW! Gotta go, Sir, engineering out." "Nav, get us out of here." "Eye, eye, Sir." came the calm, unruffled response accompanied by a glance from Schlynk. That glance has a lot of shadows dancing around in the depths of those eyes. There may be some truth to the rummors that he used to work in the Intel section of GalCOM. Ghosts from the work that he used to do. No wonder he's so calm in battle, probably hoping for that final release. Makes my skin crawl thinking about the things he has seen. "Sir?" came the youthful yet professional voice of Samantha with barely suppresed exitement. "I just caught a noncoded message from that battlecruiser. From the signature it's the GCV-Tenchi. Sounds like they did sustain some damage but there aren't any specifics and with us on passive I can't get any readings." ------------------ Cmdr. 13. Well, there's a first time for everything so here goes "Yes, Samantha?" Lt Samantha is one of the best tacops commanders I've seen. She can make those sensors burp up information that isn't supposed to be possible. Maybe it's that intuition of her's. "I just received some odd readings off the probe around Jupiter. I'm not sure but....." My gut does this instant flip. In the past that "odd" statement ment some BIG BAD NASTY THING was about to happen to my ship. After several seconds of silence I couldn't take anymore. "Samantha, talk to me please. I like to think that I'm a competant Commander but I can't read minds yet." "uh, Sorry Sir! Well, it shows that a BC just wandered out into the middle of the system there and just stopped. It's been sitting there for about 4 hrs with shields and weapons off-line." "What about the rest of the battlegroup?" "They are just sitting there, Sir." We've been playing showdow for quite a while now keeping tabs on the Deterrance Battlegroup from a nearby system. Time's about up for our stint and just maybe we can pot us a lemming BC before we head back..... "Sir?" Samantha again, "The probe just reported a text message sent from that BC to Vanguard Starbase directed to a Cmdr. Foss. Apparently there is a party occuring on the bridge which is more then likely why Aleshia Montgomery couldn't scramble the message. There's been no return comms to the BC." A party on an active duty GalCOM BC?!?!? Hummm..... okay, what to do? What to do? "Aaron, Have engineering get out a radiation control unit for the cloaking device and have the surronding decks cleared. Also have logistix get the 2nd rcu ready and verify it passes self diagnostics." "Schlynk,(no one knows if that's his real name) I want 2 deceptive run-up courses to and from that BC with a return course to here. I want to pass that BC at maximum speed. If this is some trap I don't want to be caught with a slow boat. Also update the hardcopy nav charts incase we get thumped. We'll cloak before we hit insystem and stay cloaked until we fire. We'll stay uncloaked 2 minutes before recloaking. Also have 2 of the IC's left on patrol here with orders to stay incognito." "Kim, I want 5 questor missles on that BC! PTA active on the flyby and if a shot with the IOD is available, take it. Launch missles 1st from 15k out before any active firing." "Samantha, have the radar on passive just before we hit the system and after the 1st shot is fired I want a tight-beam sent to that probe with a shut-down order. We may need it later." After the chorus of "Yes Sir!" Adam, my second, approaches. "Sir, what about our orders to not stir the nest?" "Well, we've known that the Cmdr. Foss has been on Vanguard for a while and judging from that message routing I'm guessing that he's on that shuttle headed back to Orion for his flagship. That could mean that they are getting ready to move on. If thumping that BC puts a monkey wrench into their plans so much the better. We may not get a 'kill' but it should be in 'dry-dock' for a while.I also know the general plans of Cmdr. Kristophers. Besides, this'll give Cmder Blades a good reason to take his lemmings to task and add stories to the viciousness of the Monty Python Bunnies." As I push the call to general quarters button I hear over the ship's intercom..."All right Ladies, IT'S TIME TO ROCK!!"[/RP] ------------------ Cmdr. 14. Hello Cmdr Zeke Stone, I too would like to encourage you in your quest. The world need dreamers who actually do something about that vision. Since everything in existance started with a dream, that's a great place to start! If my understanding is correct about your movie you may want to get the book Mutineers' Moon by David Weber. In this story the Earth's moon is actually a battleship. Here's a quote from page 26 of said book [QU0TE] The Utu-class were designed both for the line of battle and for independant, long-term survey and picket deployment, with core crews of two hundered and fifty thousand. Intended optimum deployment time is twenty-five Terran years, with provision for a sixty percent increase in personnel during that period. Maximum deployment time is virtually unlimited, assuming crew expansion is contained. In addition to small, two-seat fighters that may be employed in either attack or defense, Dahak deploys sublight parasite warships massing up to eighty thousand tons. Shipboard weaponry centers around hyper-capable missile batteries backed up by direct-fire energy weapons. Weapon payloads range from chemical warheads through fusion, anti-matter, and gravitonic warheads. Essentiall, Commander, this ship could vaporize your planet."
  15. Interesting "play-on-words" I guess.. I did get a small chuckle with the pencil and mirror...the rest of it must have been over my head... or under my feet... or maybe I'm just in another system 'cause I didn't get the humor in most it. Eh, oh well.... ------------------ Cmdr. Wold Spectre Fleet Spectre Starstation ICV Drakr "Do or do not, there is no try!"
  16. I too have emailed Eric, though not quite with the persuasive wording that aramike has managed. But then again, my education was down a different track. If anyone wants to know what I sent Eric let me know and I can email you a copy. ------------------ Cmdr. Wold Spectre Fleet Spectre Starstation ICV Drakr "Do or do not, there is no try!"
  17. Hehehe, I envy you! When I was in Oregon I came real close to taking scuba lessons...couldn't quite wedge it in between school classes though. I could learn here in AK but I just cant bring myself to scuba diving in a swimming pool... and the "outdoor" water is downright fridged POSTED: WARNING Don't feed the sharks, just the fish! ------------------ Cmdr. 18. Okay, my heart felt viewpoint is in there. I bit my tounge (blood oozing...may need stitches) as far as some of the other posts went but....some slipped through. ------------------ Cmdr. Wold Spectre Fleet Spectre Starstation ICV Drakr "Do or do not, there is no try!"
  19. Welcome aboard Keyne....hope you and your ship survived the first 5 minutes of space. I had intruders right off and lost shuttles and intercepters and.... Anyway, it IS a LOT of fun! If you're open to suggestions read on otherwise IGNORE me..hehe If you have a tech question...set the date flag to show all dates and do a search & read. The TIPS & TRICKS is another excelent source.... There's even a story writen by an Insurgent Cmdr. Kristophers, even got a great review by the head lemming of Orion--Blades himself (although I'm sure it pained him to do so. ). You'll have to find that story on your own, but trust me, it is WORTH the hunt! Take care and watch out for short brown mouse looking thingy called a lemming.... ------------------ Cmdr. 22. "Steal is such a naughty word, we never steal, we just sort of borrow a bit from those who can aford it"--robin hood to little john c_s_hang....Are you going to be joining us Insurgents? That borrowing from other ships is an Insurgent tactic you know... If you're going to join us Insurgents then please read further. Enjoy ------------------ Cmdr. 23. If memory serves me correctly ...This is the one where you have to work with SC Reins? You have to capture the starstation in eori AFTER starstation systems are disabled. Get up close to the station, shoot the tar out of it until the shields and armor go down. I just use the IOD. Watch the green status numbers in the CVD... 2 of those numbers have to be 10 or lower then the station will scream SOS. At that time you can dock with the station and it will ask you if you want to capture it. NOTE: when any of the green numbers drop to around 30 drop the IOD to 10% pwr. IF any of the status numbers get below 0 then BOOM no station, mission over. Later... ------------------ Cmdr. Wold Spectre Fleet Spectre Starstation ICV Drakr "Do or do not, there is no try!"
  24. Ha! No crashes! Correct and updated mouse driver (windows in its "infinate" wisdom grabbed the wrong driver-didn't notice cause it worked at the deskgop...grrr) FIXED the save game and quit to main menu crashes... Setting DPMI memory on BC3K shortcut to 65535 (I have 128meg) SOLVED a 2nd issue which I hadn't mentioned earlier... If I quit BC3K did anything at the Win desktop and then tried to play BC3K again I would sometimes (intermittant again) have a blank screen AFTER loading a saved game/continue game. Once it started I would have to reboot to clear that issue. Thanks again everyone for your help! ------------------ Cmdr. 25. Seems to me to work as promised! Take time to READ 'cause if you have a question/problem someones Been There Done That! My problem was learning all the things to do and responding fast enough to situations. It's a BLAST, sometimes to my own BC. Happy Hunting! ------------------ Cmdr.
