I've seen Battle Angel, also called Gunnm (Gun Dream) there's some story behind it and I think only 1 episode was ever made, kinda like Dragon Half where only two were made. Seen a few ep's of Lodoss Wars. Ghost in the Shell was one of the first ones I've ever seen. Mononoke Hime (I refuse to use the english name) as far as I recall, was the second anime to ever be shown in american/canadian theatres in its unedited form. (save dubbing) Ghost in the Shell being the first. Never seen Mononoke Hime, myself, but heard it's okay. I downloaded a trailor for the Final Fantasy movie. If Square Japan's got anything to do with that, I'm sure it will be incredable. In the trailor, I can hardly tell some of this stuff is CG! well, I went through many names over the years before I used Hidama. started with 'QFinger' on IRC, got that one from playing video games, friends nicknamed me QuickFinger (beat 400 kids at Super Mario World when I was 8 and got a $100 prize! ) I IRC'd quite a bit over the last few years, RPing and fighting channel wars (nuking, flooding, etc). So my next name was Firesoul, don't know why I chose it, it just came to me. Anyway, during an RP session, my char died and was reincarnated, losing his memories and becoming a viscious killer, named Soulhunter. About two years ago I got Ultima Online, my friend and I decided to play brothers in the game, and being rather obsessed with Japan, decided to pick Japanese names. He came up with 'Hasaki' which is now our cyber family name that stuck even after UO. His first name is Yuchiro, just picked it out of a book or some such thing. I chose Hidama, which means 'Fireball' or 'meteor' in Japanese. and that's my life's story ------------------ Cmdr. well, I use an optic mouse when I use my mom's computer, my dad and I each have boring normal mice, but I AM rebuilding my comp soon and will change that. First off, Tac, I am now on a quest to kill you, or at least tie you up and lock you in a closet, and take your place on that trip to Japan Saw original Sailor Moon eps d/l'd from some page long forgotten, caught a scene where all the scouts were naked and sprouted wings. I've read Inu Yasha manga a few years back, it's pretty cool. and I can't believe I forgot about SMJ!!!!! a friend of mine's got 3 copies of the Utena movie, don't remember the real name of it though... I read the X manga and really want to see the movie, sadly, it's quite rare here. I implore you all, don't get me started on the evils and horrors brought about by those accursed american companies who butcher any anime they get their hands on! Sailor Moon in its original form, sure as hell ain't a kids show, Dragon Ball Z actually gets pretty cool in later seasons that weren't shown in the west, they're bringing Escaflowne over as well, I shudder to think what they'll do to THAT. wow, managed to graze the surface without swearing! ------------------ Cmdr. well well I love Kenshin, Nuku Nuku's kawaii, my friends love Escaflowne, Lain and Fushigi Yugi (sp?) although all three of them either confuse or bore me. I like anything with mecha. Captain Tyler's hilarious, Hyper Police and Battle Angel (Gunnm A.K.A. Thanatos, don't worry about exposing your kid to that stuff, at 14 years he's probably seen a great deal of nudity, more than a single movie can possibly offer. These days, kids are exposed to things much earlier, wether their parents want them to be or not. that's just my opinion, but I got the inside scoop, having been 14 just 3 years ago

I rented the WC movie on several occations, since there's no other space combat movie that can match it, IMHO. but story is based on a game (no further explanation needed) and the kilrathi were screwed up garbage-bag costumes... but other than that I thought the movie kicked ass! as for The Cell, I'm planning on watching that sometime this week if I somehow find the time. ------------------ Cmdr. sorry bout my last post...I was a tad intoxicated I was attempting to agree with you aramike anyway, I believe that anyone who dreams up these worlds HAS to be crazy! But my definition of crazy has been described as a paradox wrapped in an enigma. Approx size of my ship, well, haven't measured it out yet, but it's huge, it's the size of, say, 3 Ottawa's stacked on top of one-another. and I don't want to measure it out right now so use your imagination. one thing I'd like to ask you Zeke: Although I haven't done the math, at a glance, the size of your multiple fighter bays added together seem to be larger than the ship itself, I may be wrong of course. perhaps it was a mix of factors, the revolutionaries that began it all (bell, the wright's, etc) but after that, people began to build on it. refine it, expand it. From the first aeroplane to the 'Hyper-X'. the first phone line to satelite communication. I'm sure you get the idea. so I agree with you that a few people started it all, but many people have built on that foundation these recent years.

Technology has taken leaps and bounds in the last 75 years because there are more people working to develop it. more people are FREE to develop it. That includes women, who weren't allowed to do anything outside the house in the last millenium. Thoughts were restricted and dictated, mostly by the church.
