I announce the creation of Cloud Centris! A new world (officially named CCentris) It was a long time project of mine, and with the help of a couple of friends we bought a shiny new world, a p-40-5, which means 800x800 meters with a user limit of 5 at one time. Currently there is practically nothing to see. I'm still building my objects and searching for an adequate skybox. Cloud Centris theme is not necessarily BC related, it depends of what the allowed builders want to do. The official theme is a large floating city. There is no set ground. If I can get a good skybox (I want the one from awgate ) I can make day and night cycles, at an accelerated speed (one day would last one hour, so it looks cool) with the use of a bot that have caretaker rights. For now there is little to see... I'm still working and testing the world and what I can do with the objects. I was mainly inspired my a small world I visited recently, Meta3D2

I thought the FC were supposed to get get asset distribution sheets of some sort and set fixed assets for each member of a fleet...? example : each member of a fleet adds 100 ship alloc points to the fleet, and 1 heavy cruiser is 50 points, 1 super-cruiser 75, a bc/violon is 100, a megaron/nightstar 125, an Aëstrom 150, a Firestorm 175, and a StormCarrier 200.

I made a few simple pictures in Truespace showing Earth and Centris with their respective suns, and so far people that looked at them liked them. I was supposed to post about it earlier but I either forgot or was busy. Better late than never. Each of them is roughly 400kb, all are 1280x1024 high quality jpegs. They're on my server and my upload speed is capped at 16ks, so don't complain First picture of Earth featuring a moonlight glow The first picture is made as much realistic as possible. Sizes, distances, they're true. Don't try to look for GHQ, it ain't there, would have been too small anyway I couldn't get a yellow lens flare since the program always put them reddier. Second picture of Earth : sunset? sunrise? That one has a cool sun I might try to put an atmosphere around the Earth later. Centris with true suns Even wondered about double sunsets and sunrises? You get the idea. Alpha Centauri is really a trinary star system, oen being faint and distant. I cheated a bit on this one, the moons were too far to be seen, but it does look good. I used BCM backdrops and planetary/moon textures for the pics. If anyone wants a custom pic at different resolution or in a different star system (or different camera position), you can ask. I can find the planets/moons textures ingame easily, same for the backdrop. I can probably get the star colors and sizes with a little search with google, since all the bc stars are less or more known real stars. I can make jpg, tga and bmp files. Static pictures, no videos, I'm not good at animating stuff and I had trouble making the lens flare move (trying to figure out that one) I cannot have any bc ship/station unless I get the source models... and yet I have to convert the models in Truespace cob format. Pasting pictures from the bcstudio WILL damage the picture by altering the glow and ghosts effects, so do it yourself if you really want to. [ 01-24-2002: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
