PJ O'Rourke: Why Americans Hate foreign Policy
Soback replied to a topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
Jag, he would rather die then see what US might become if the current evolution persues it's course because he lives in Spain, so cut him some slack, he would rather live if the current evolution would persue it's course if he was in US. LOL, but then again, some people like a sociall state. I mean hey, when you live in a big social state, it's just like a huge happy family, and why would you want to break that up into actual families, it's all about unity, love peace, and if that doesn't work, you can nag at big presid.,..sorry, I meant big papa. US represents individualism, which means if you are to suceed it would be individually, by yourself, o solo mia. That's a big threat to some people, so much of a big threat the very notion of it makes them whimper. That's why the UN and the Europe hates US and it's ability to make decissions alone without relying on them... That's why the US is known as a big bully, we don't play by kindergarden rules, we are in highschool now, lol [ 09-18-2004, 02:03 PM: Message edited by: Soback ] -
There is no tax break with Kerry, if you raise taxes for the rich, the poor pay through higher prices at the register. If you own a business, and lets say you make $1000 a day. Taxes for businesses right now are almost 50%. So after paying them you are left over with $500 of your own money. Now you have bills, you have other expenses, and you have a good life style that you like to keep. Lets say since you are rich, your taxes go up to 55%, now you still make $1000 a day but because of tax increase you walk away with $450 instead of the $500 you did before, so you think "damn, I still have to make $500 because I got bills, I have that mansion, and I still want to go to Caribean because I was able to afford it before but now can't" So what do you do? You take out your calculator and think. Now if the tax is 55%, how much would I need to make a day to have $500 left over after 55% have been taken away. Now to come out with $500 profit you have to make $1150 instead of the old $1000, for a 5% increase in tax, you have made a 15% increase in the end prices. Therefore the rich never pay more when taxed more, you still end up paying more, but most people are either too ignorant or too lazy to figure out what you end up paying for each 1% increase in taxes on the rich. Now you might say, hold on, he is raising taxes on the rich, not the businesses. I have to say, slow down there and think again, don't be lazy. Who owns the businesses rich or poor? Who owns the stores, factories, research labs, franchises etc.... the rich or the poor? Now if you still don't understand, I'll make it super simple, remember star wars, remember the fat rich alien? He doesn't work but still gets a paycheck. He gets paid from the businesses he owns, he doesn't do anything but he owns them and that's his paycheck. Now think about yourself, you get a paycheck, you work. If you see less money on your check all of a sudden but you still work the same and still make those $10 an hour (an example, you might be making 8 or 12 or any other ammount, I gotta make it simple though) but you see less on your paycheck then you know you are getting taxed more. Your bills haven't changed though, so you gotta make those 10 an hour to pay them, so you go up to your boss and you say, hey, taxes are more, I get less, I need a raise because I can't live on less. Now here's where the light bulb lights, if that fat alien rich guy gets taxed more, he goes hey I need a raise, well, I guess I will have to increase prices at my businesses to get a higher paycheck. Now who visits and pays for the products in those businesses, and who now has to pay more? So when you tax the rich, you are actually taxing the poor, as you noticed from that example, the ratio is a 5% increase in tax for rich, price increase of 15%. So for every $1 dollar he looses, you pay $3. Did that light bulb go on in your head? or are you still p.oed that there's people in the world who have more money than you do and you think that it will hurt them and help you if Kerry taxes them more?

Large parties means more food ordered which means more business. There shouldn't be any mandatory tips period. If they want to, they can institute a fee for more than 6 people, but then I would recomend breaking down into groups of 3, taking more tables and more space when we would just hang out and mingle at the pizza place, see how they like that. I guess they are learning lessons from the government, everyone wants more and more and more for nothing. Like at National/state/local parks. Why is there an entrance fee? Didn't I already pay for those parks through my taxes? And if I don't go, why am I paying for someone else to visit? It should all be supported either completly through taxes or completly through visitor fees, not both. Same goes for so much more, schools, roads, emergency services (you already paid through taxes, you have to pay again when they show up (in San Francisco), etc... LOL, I can just see the next person running for president. "I promise to lower the taxes". Next time you are filing there is a box "Mandatory 18% tip" It's funny because it's true, fees are just another way to tax us.
-
Putin is in a tough spot. Any president in Russia would be in a tough spot. If you don't listen to enterpenuers, economy gets worse, if you don't listen to the army, you'll have no military, if you don't listen to the mafia, you are dead and replaced. So you have to listen to all and compromise compromise compromise, it's like dancing on daggers 24/7

LOL< what a democracy, now they want to say you can't even run for president, ROFL. You call that democracy?

I am unhappy that I will be made to live as a slave for all societies whims if the alternate evolution pursues it's course. -
OMG, first I want to thank Derreck/mods for keeping this forum clean. The sims2 forum is a mess, I can't browse it for more than 30 mins, I go nuts. Here's an example of some of the posts there: "I installed the sims2 on two computers but i own them both so that shouldnt matter. the first computer i installed it on, well the game runs fine on that computer. but the second one, the games runs EXTREMELY slow and EXTREMELY choppy. i can hardly play! and plus the sims thoughts are fuzzy looking and the graphics dont seem to be as great as those on my first computer. why is this? i want an explanation. " Two different computers, two different configurations/hardware and he wonders why it runs differently, and then there's a myrriad of posts in the same thread wondering the same thing. Their forums don't even break down the topics, questions go into general discussion topics, tips and tricks topics I mean everywhere, makes it impossible to browse and find things. Then there's the millions repetition of the same post made by about a thousand people and everyone wants their post answered in their thread instead of actually looking for the answer which makes a lot of posts a one entry thread. Then there are the questions themselfs, good questions, bad questions and whoever said there's no such thing as a dumb question has never been to a Sims2 forum. It's scary how there's so many people who don't only know the basics but actually don't even know how to properly look, search and learn which is I guess why they are the way they are in the first place. There's only one answer to all that madness, rules and bans. Who said ban is an extreeme? If you can't post right then you should just stick with reading. All I have to say is OMG....
-
Hey Tac, it's very simple to dispute those charges, especially if they are on a credit card, simply say that the product wasn't delivered as promised and wasn't usable in a promised capacity. Also, post that advice on their forum so that other players can dispute the charges. Talk with your money man.

Hmm... interesting, the first parkan wasn't even a space sim. Oh well, it's coming out relatively soon I guess, we'll see how it turns out.

ROFL, hampered by the restriction, dude you gotta be kidding. If you want to kill people you don't need an assault weapon. There's millions upon millions of ways to do mass murder. A guy going to the store to buy an assault weapon and go shoot up the mall is a ludicrous belief. It's like me going to the grocery store to buy a knife to stab the first person I see when I walk out of that grocery store. Anyway, my blood is starting to boil again....see ya...sucks when society tries to bend Darwins theory, really sucks.....

As for nice graphics I don't know, they look kinda cartoonish, also the size of the ships seems completly out of wack aka 1980s where they are all the same size.
-
In the movie in looks like the ship is controlled by the mouse kinda like Freelancer style. I don't know, most people gripe about that, works great for me, anyone else notice that?
-
That ban was a total waste of money and just a pander to those who don't know any better. We all know who we have to thank for that (those who scream unconstitutional are actually the ones disabiding the constitution), we also know who is screaming that the ban is dead and who let it die. Interesting.....
-
The game reminds me of starflight meshed with that game (cant remember the name) where you had a capital ship, traveled from system to system colonizing and builing up planets for fuel/money/ships to build up your armada. Interesting to see how it turns out, supposed to be released soon.

Yeah, Gothic 2 is like Morrowind on double steroids. They say you can do pretty much everything in Morrowind, well in Gothic it's tripple that. Personally though, I can't wait till Vampires Bloodlines. The first one was alright, but too linear, I hope they don't screw this one up. The ultimate would be something along the lines of merging Vampires and Gothic 2.

Search yahoo or google for webdwarf, it's a program that lets you create a website, really easy real simple. If you can use microsoft word you can use that.

It was one of those little things from Diablos dungeon. What you need is a good sword and shield, some armor plates and you're all set. I bet you can find a competent black smith somewhere in the country side. Freaky stuff, we see what we want to see, over thousands of years of evolutions our brains have learned to discount what's unimportant and register the things in the immediate influence, kinda like singling out a converstation in a crowded room and discarding the rest. Think about all the things we don't see just because our brains don't register them.

Uniformed troops should bring a sense of shame
Soback replied to a topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
I don't know, all I see is people who follow his and Ghandis example to the letter and them and their families end up dying, and I see people picking up the sword to fight evil and them and their families end up living. You tell me.... It's nice to have men who have these ideals, but they only have those ideals when there's other men in front of them that carry the sword and shield that protects them and their families. You, your kids and your kids kids wouldn't be able to live and practice your passive peaceful life without other men who stand between your way of life and those who try to kill you. So by badmouthing and attacking the military you are thereby badmouthing and attacking the very people that protect you against those that would kill you. That's why I get very frustrated when someone says there's other ways, we should just negotiate and yap yap yap, and that military is bad bad bad, I just want to shove them in front of the military, in the front lines, not behind the front lines and see if they come back with the same attitude, or if they come back at all. -

Kerry speaking has always made me sick, not only the things he says but also how he says them. It's no wonder the people who cheer when he speaks don't understand what he's saying, that's one of the requirments. Another thing I don't get, during his speaches he always screams, I am yet to figure out who he is screaming at, gives me a headache at best, and when I watch the history channel reminds me of Hitler (no punts, no jokes, totally serious) at worst. After thinking about it, the screaming is actually used to incite the people who don't have the ability to analyze and comprehend the context of the speech, it rallies them and makes them think that something good is going on, well, I guess that's the kind of public Democrats have to cator to. It's scary and shamefull that that's the majority of public.

If you are using Jesus as an example, where did it get him rising above violence? He was killed. And those many others you are talking about, my guess is all of them were killed and none of them died of old age. -

Hey check this out... something not related to the US!
Soback replied to TARWMSRK's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
Funny how when it all goes down you don't see street or any of the liberals posting, just like that article said, when our soldiers kill a terrorist with a bomb and a gun they scream that you are killing a freedom fighter, but when a terrorist kills hundreds of civillians and children they are all quiet. Makes you wonder a lot of things.... So street, go ahead, what have you to say now? Maybe you can tell us again about your military career and if you were actually in the US army for the US army or in the US army making sure they don't harm any freedom fighters as you like calling them.
