quote: 2)Cruiser: Garid It Looks cool, its fast and it has good firepower. I have to agree; those lines, that colour, the FIREPOWER! Took out a Merc. Warmonger who was targeting me, with just my main guns and didn't get a scratch. Also took down a Credian Merc. Starstation and it's accompanying fighters, again with barely a dent in my shields (would have captured the damn thing, but forgot to turn off my PTA. D'oh!)

quote: I can't wait to delete that report as soon as I see it. Please post it soon. I'll only report it if I can repeat it. Didn't happen all the time. Not sure if 300mph was correct, in fact he was accelerating and I only glanced at the speed. But he was out of the base and long gone in a matter of seconds. Might actually come in useful......

quote:Originally posted by Gallion: The fix is very simple - get rid of the v5 and get a v-card with drivers that support Dx8.1 TTFN First of all, I didn't think the problem was driver related (marine strafing at 300mph while crouched?), secondly, because of my set up, I can't use nVidia based accelerators (long explanation), and I can't afford to buy one anyway. I'm happy the way it plays at the moment thank you very much.

Uhm, why? Why not get into the fighter first, then launch and do some sightseeing.

Been thinking about this cloaking thing. As an assassin, I should be able to sneak up on my prey, kill them and get the hell out of there before anyone realises. But then, being restricted to cruisers completely negates that tactic (no cloak, for those who don't realise). What gives Are all assassins in your face, 'look at me before you die', upfront types in the BC universe?

They may take 2 - 3 days to reply.

quote: You might want to try the -ng option to solve the ground plane issue. That solves the problem for me. Did find some other issues in the marine training scenarios, but won't report them till I've investigated further (ie not in -ng mode, which isn't supported, I know).

Got a 85%, Mr. Bean myself actually. Strange, seeing as where I live an' all.

How British are you?

First impression: where's the box? doesn't matter, I throw them away anyway. Second impression: who the hell folded this map, because I'm buggered if I can fold it back the same way Probably won't be till the weekend till I get down and play it much, my missus is on nights, so no *****ing from her about me staying up half the night.

Oo, got mine today (having asked the missus 'Any post today' and getting a 'Nothing special' reply, promptly found the package on my desk). Will install and dl patch accordingly. Trying to register, but CD serial number not accepted, see post in relevant forum.

The guy is no worse than a mercenary, except he fights for his beliefs, whether you agree with them or not, whereas mercenaries simply fight for money and really don't give a shit who pays them. What is interesting is that this ties up with $ilk's racial profiling thread. Give this guy a shave, a wash, some nice clothes and a few flying lessons.... I would hardly call him a traitor based on the current evidence, there has been no US ground involvement, so he can't have come into direct conflict with US troops and there's no evidence he actually fought Northern Alliance troops. He probably surrendered without firing a shot, along with 1000s of his Taliban mates. Just a case of a misguided loon if you ask me. [ 12-05-2001: Message edited by: Paddy Gregory ]

quote: My only qualms about Ireland is Guiness. Why is it that the Guiness there taste like heaven and the one that we get internationally taste like p*ss. Oh, how true. Mind you, the Guiness over here isn't that bad (had a few tonight and thoroughly enjoyed them ) On a more serious note, the IRA, UDA, UVF, INLA etc etc are nothing more than gangsters, and have been so for several years now. They try and maintain this political front to try and justify their existance, when all they are doing is controlling the drug trade. All these 'punishments' they carry out are nothing more than taking out the competition.

quote: It really gets to me when people say stuff about my Irish friends here back home as they are all assumed to be terrorrists even though they come from Rep of Ireland. Guess they know now how the Arabs felt. I know what you mean Fendi, my wife is from a town just outside Belfast. When people over here find out she is Irish and I'm English, they seem surprised that we are together as they assume that the Irish and English detest each other with a passion. Talk about preconceptions. They also assume that Northern Ireland is a battleground, with 'peace walls' separating communities all over the place. Needless to say that's a load of bollocks. I've been to NI numerous times and have only encountered any problem just the once; we'd been out to dinner in belfast and HAD JUST paid the bill, when the restaurant had to be evacuated because of a bomb scare. 10 minutes earlier, and we'd have had a free meal.

Nice story Schmendrick.

At the weekend, I was on the Underground travelling on the Northern line. A man of Arabic appearance got off the train and I noticed that he had left his bag behind. I grabbed the bag and ran after him, caught up with him at the top of the escalator and handed him back his bag. He was extremely grateful to me and opened his bag which appeared to contain large bundles of banknotes. He looked round, made sure nobody was looking and whispered to me: "I can never repay your kindness sir, but I will try to with a word of advice for you. Stay away from Manchester this weekend." I was terrified. "Is there going to be an attack?" I whispered. "No, sir" he whispered back "It's a shit hole." [ 11-29-2001: Message edited by: Paddy Gregory ]
