*Stands up and applauds Aramike* Exactly, exactly, exactly. Its not like the US is going into military conflict happy and excited, but what else can we do?? Negotiations, diplomacy, sanctions, don't work against these people, we've tried it for twenty years, and its done nothing. I hate war just as much as any civilized person, but in some cases, there is NO other alternative. Its us or them, thats gotta be clear by now. These protests on college campuses for peaceful resolution and no war make me, frankly, afraid. One, it could divide our nation ala Vietnam, although this is an enemy who attacked our home and killed our civilians. Two, I'm afraid for the future of America if these people are left in charge. Violence is NEVER the first option, but sometimes it is the ONLY option. Some people will not be swayed by words or threats, and so one must use other means. Seems that Berkeley has to protest EVERYTHING that could unite the American people. I myself am a liberal, but on many issues, including this one, I can't understand the reasoning of these bleeding-hearts.

For me, cant wait for LOTR and the new Star Wars movie, just hope GL comes to his senses and changes the title.

I've got EU, and its a great game. Have you tried going to the Paradox/Europa Universalis website? Their the game developers, and they have a great fanbase that helps people out with tech issues. The devs also post on the forum alot. Paradox is a great dev team that really cares about their customers, so please to rag on them without even visiting the site. Yeah Soback, Simsville, looks like it will be really cool. My advice, go for the Sims, just my personal opinion for the reasons stated above.

My question, how would the clock know what year it is, huh? The ship's clock would simply keep time normally, it couldn't "sense" a jump forward in time. Even if the ending could be explained, doesn't make the movie any better.

All they were trying to do with the ending was suprise and shock the audience like the original did. Needless to say, it didn't work. Everyone knew that Lincoln would be an ape as soon as he landed in Washington, even if it made no sense. To reiterate, two things that made the original great: Charlton Heston, and a good, understandable, yet shocking ending. It ran fine on my system, but it got REALLY monotonous after a few days, the creature's more of a pain in the a** than any real help, and being good is WAY to hard because the villager AI is so bad. They can't do anything for themselves. Its more computer art than a game.

I thought it was absolute junk. It couldn't hold a candle to the original, and the love storie(s?) felt very tacked on and extraneous. The main character was not very likable, and his constant tough guy attitude didn't seem to fit. What made the original Planet of the Apes great was the suprise ending that it was actually Earth all along. In this film, the audience knows this going in, and so it takes a lot from the film. That, coupled with the fact the the technical elements of the film were not particalarly notable (not the special effects, other elements, like camera angles and cut sequences) and the confusing and bad ending, make this film sub-par.

Loonies, heh Luc, been playin a little game called Anachronox? . That was a cool game, if a little short and easy. For me, its gotta be Freelancer, I've been lookin forward to it for soooo long now. Of course, when Operation Flashpoint comes, I'll buy it, provide a break from my frequent Counter-Strike sessions.

Yeah, The Critic was funny Luc, they still air reruns all the time on Comedy Central, and I catch them whenever I can.

If you guys liked games like Imperialism you absolutely MUST check out a game by Paradox called Europa Universalis. It is the best historical simulation I've ever played. It covers economy, warfare, colonization, and religion very, very well.

Yeah, I think its a really funny show, a little too crude for my tastes but still hilarious, although i would rate it below The Simpsons and slightly below Futurama.

Thanks guys, I think I'll pick it up while I'm waiting for BCM. I downloaded the first episode of BCM, it was fun, although i must admit for someone who hasn't played BC3K the learning curve was pretty steep. I know in the final there will be a manual and tutorials, so maybe then i'll learn how to play more effectively. I'd download BC3K from fileplanet, but with my 56k itd just take too long, and w/ electricity costs in california, im keeping as many appliances off as possible. Thanx again for the suggestions.

I've only been into computer games for a couple of years, which means i missed out on all the great old games, like Elite and Privateer. While I was going through gamespots list of classic sci-fi games, though, I ran into "X" and thought it looked interesting. Since "X" is the same type of game as BC, I was wondering if anyone here had played it and whether they could tell me if its worth the $5 I'd have to pay for it.

I can't seem to find the shows playing near me. I've looked throught the entire sci-fi channel listing for the past few weeks and i can't find a trace of the show. I'm in southern california, so i figured it would be on at 4:30 a.m., but still cant find it.

how do you adjust the z-buffer? i go to My computer, Control panel, display options, the settings tap, then the advanced button in the bottom right. After that i get a tab with 5 options: General, Adapter, monitor, performance, and color management. no mention of z-buffer anywhere, not even in the help section.

While i haven't been able to play the demo yet (minor technical difficulties im trying to sort out) i have listened to the music included with the demo and the bcstudio.exe, and the music and the graphics for the ships are absolutely amazing. i cant wait till i get this thing running on my pc.

SC, sorry to ask again, but what part of the Video Card FAQ? Im really not that great w/ tech problems, so the whole thing is kinda confusing. Does my problem have to do w/ the BIOS or the nVidia board? Im running the latest drivers also. Im real sorry, and id really appreciate if someone helped me out with his, im new to this type of thing.

Ok, first off, here are my specs PIII 550 w/ 100Mhz Sytem Bus 192 MB RAM Sound Blaster PCI512 Sound Card 9 GB Hard Drive Using Win98 w/ DirX 8 3d Blaster Annihilator 2 Video card, uses GeForce 2 GTS Rev chip with 64 Mb DDR Now the problem, whenever i start the program, my hard drive will load and my screen will go black for about a second, then im immediatly back to windows. I tried adjusting my desktop settings to 1024x768x16 to make sure it wasnt the resolution problem. Its the High Content Demo and i downloaded it from ZDnet. The BCStudio works, the ships look absolutely fantastic Thanks for any help, i cant wait to get this thing running.
