  1. Time to get active again Alpha Wing, I know that christmas is very busy time, but atleast post that you are still there, alive and ready to kick some butt. I'd like to see everybody to post to the Prime roll call in Prime fleet's forum.
  2. GBS II is coming!!! Now back to get some practice with GBS I.
  3. Hi Saint19, try filtering enemies out in tacops and try to look if you can find your troops. I've noticed that sometimes I had to do it before I could find my support crafts in crowded enemy territory.
  4. From Pugwash's page you can find some very useful info.
  5. It's certainly is video card, I can tell you. I have not yet updated my system info, but I just bought Abit Siluro geforce 2 T400 and I'm getting around 35-45 fps if there's not much action in the region (that's little different from V3's 9-12 fps at the best )

  7. Great review! Two thumbs up for it and The Game Great job Stephanos, you ought to be a translator! [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
  8. Four great years I've been in these forums, and enjoyed and learned a lot from them. Thanks SC. Now it seems that we have to pull out our community to the next generation. I know that support to this game won't come to an end, that's for sure, so have no fear. No matter where the forum will continue, we betatesters will be there ready to try your "mysterious" bugs, and report them to SC if necessary. I think that it's not bad way to be, betatesters as a buffer between developer and gamers, so we can filter out all wild goose chases before it goes to SC. This is one way to give the man the peace he needs to concentrate on the real subjects. And maybe (hopefully) one day these forums will open again. You were like part of my family for four years, and it will always be like it.

Congrats $ilk, and give my best to the lady too. [ 12-14-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
  11. GBS II is basically the same as GBS I. So, you can get a head on if you start learning GBS I. You can find some of the modifications in BCM beta version control file. Surely there will be many things different from GBS I, but I remember that SC said that it's at least 80% the same.
  12. quote: original message by Simparadox: A random mission generator would probably be a huge task since there's nothing like it in BCM right now. It'd probably just be a waste of time to get into a debate about it (eh.. which we are now anyway, so..) since it's just not likely. I suppose a random script generator might be a good idea, but how is it really going to be that different from what Roam mode is anyway? Whenver I play Roam mode I always find plenty of things to do. I can be sitting near a station, minding my own business, when suddenly I need to defend said station from some sort of attack force. I think it really just comes down to not fixing what isn't broken. True, and it's possible to script acm missions with dates, times and when ever you want a new mission. It's quite simple to create objects to pop up every now and then and you are offered escort job or whatever and it's you're choice to take the job or not. While in the between missions you can do what ever you like. GBS is very flexible. It's all in the way you make it. But random generator... hhmmm, I can't say it's impossible, but very unlikely with my knowledge of the GBS. (Which is not very much I must admit)
  13. lol, you don't neet it.
  14. Good luck SmileyMan , but first take a look into GBS scripting tools which is for BC3K. You can dl it from here. Try your hands on that first (you'll need bc3k of course to do it). Atleast open one of the script files (eg. beginning with acm*.scr) and take a look at it, so you know what you're dealing with. No offence, but from time to time there pops up people who say that they can come up with user friendly GUI or like you now, script generator. Be my guest, but... If I were you I'd use my time more efficiently by trying out the basic usage of GBS I until GBS II is released. GBS II will be much like GBS I. Just my 0.2 cents [ 12-13-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
  15. Not yet Gallion, just warming up and gathering tools . So far it's been more like "masochistic" I got some real stuff cooking, so be ready. This is just one of my "finger practice" (I'm not sure how to say it in english) to get my technics better to be sadistic
  16. I have loaded the second version of this little script for you to try. This time it works as intended
  17. Just unzip all files into scripts folder, start new game and select "BASIC TRAINING: STATION CAPTURING" mission from miscon. Although this works too, there is few flaws in the script that I will change, I'll load new file when I have found a workaround. Thanks for trying this.
  18. Happy b-day, Remo! Gotta mark this day to my calendar, because ICQ didn't warn me on this one . I found a little "bug" in my script. TO should warn when Pixan's integrity is 75% and when it's disabled, but it doesn't work . It did work before I made some last modifications to the script. Well I just have to go through it to find out what's wrong. I'll update the file when I get it fixed.
  19. Well... maybe I can consider myself as a vet (looks at reg date , damn we lost our original reg date awhile back ) I gotta say that these guys take the job from betatesters . Everytime when I thought I found new thing to report, some of the noobs already are on it. Well, then again it leaves me more time just to play and enjoy without bughunt and figuring all those mindless things that noobs are supposed try to do, 'cause they are already doing it themselfs. (Just joking) Really these newbreeds are more than welcome to the community. And about mp, just lets wait until it's available, then we'll know . [ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
  20. Here's my idea, only way to successfully mod BCM you have to have basic GBS I skills, right? So, now is the time to start training. Even though GBS II is not yet available, we have GBS I to play around with. I think only way to have feedback on our scripting skills is to publish the work we're on. So far only Gallion and Pugwash has done that. Now it's my turn, and I hope to see many of you do the same. It don't have to be very "complexed" (like you can see from my script ). This script is for BC3K only and very, very simple station capturing training mission (did I have too many -ing's there ). Actually first part of the series of GalCom Academy scripts I've been playing around with. It's more of a training for me to train my skills in scripting . Maybe I'll port them to the BCM when GBS II becomes available, if there's enough interest. Well, that's about it, here it is. Have fun [ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
  21. Here's finally link to one of my scripts, I will post more later. This script is for BC3K only and very, very simple station capturing training mission (did I have too many -ing's there ). Actually first part of the series of GalCom Academy scripts I've been playing around with. It's more of a training for me to train my skills in scripting . 22. Hey Rico, if you still have time and want to try ol' BC3K missions, I'll send you some (I heard that you just got your BCM) Sry I didn't send those earlier, there might still be some things to have a finishing touch, few problems not solved (like how can I set the condition/flag that player has captured a station, Gallion.... can you hear me!!!), but anyway I'll send them to you tonight. (And I mean our european time ) (My problem is perfectionism, naah... ) I'd like to hear any comments too, and if you have some of your scripts, send them on my way too. CYA Edit: I found a solution on my "Station captured proplem" , I already had it right in my script, but the trigger was wrong [ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
  23. Nice pics there, especially that last one
  24. quote: Originally posted by Steve Schacher: I need a little abuse today, so I thought I'd post here. I loaded the game from the CD and it worked great. Then I loaded the patches and it didn't work -- it bounced me right back to the desktop. I read the bright red warnings about upgrading to DirectX 8.1, but I didn't do it at first. Then I got smart and did upgrade to DirectX 8.1. This got me further in that it didn't bounce me, but it locked me up instead. Now comes the fun part. I read the posts in the video threads regarding box text mentioning Voodoo3 support, not support but just tested, etc. My question is: now that the very first patch requires an upgrade to DirectX 8.1, and that you also mention that 8.1 drivers must be used as well, does this completely, finally, and once and for all, eliminate Voodoo3 from use beyond the CD version? Is my problem (aside from personal observations) that I'm using DirectX 8.1 with final Voodoo3 drivers? Yep, time for a v-card with drivers that Dx8.1 Good thing that XMAS is just around the corner.TTFN Not necesseraly, but recommended, YES. Papi Has anyone with a Voodoo3 card been able to run with the patches, or is it just me? I'm not ruling out that something on my machine is messing me up -- I'm searching for information at this time. I still have voodoo 3 and I'm running BCM.. well not fine, but... it's running. I use x3dfx 1.08.03 drivers. I don't know if it makes any difference for you, but if you want to try them you can find them here.
  25. Just wanted to inform that cmdr McMahon is listed in fleet db as a Alpha wing member although he belongs to Gamma. And how about cmdr Ra, is he in Alpha or where? Never got confirmation about it, he is also listed as a Alpha wing member in fleet db. Edit: I just read from Prime fleet homepage that cmdr Ra belongs to Delta wing. So there's two corrections that should be done in fleet db. [ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: Papi ]
