lol, you've got a relic there

Just to keep you posted DMraven, i am slowly working on the guide, i'm sorry it's taking more than i expected but there's nothing i can do about it right now. I really have a lot of school work to do...
-
Ok, i'll write the guide, you'll find that while the commander career is challenging things wont go out of hands even though you get the feeling that there seems to be a very huge task of maintaining dozens of operations on your ship... Give me some time, i'll try to get it done this night, and if i can't for this night maybe tomorrow afternoon or night. (i got to study since school is almost over and the finals are coming soon and since we got elections May 16 things are heating up to boiling point when it comes to school work because the congress *sp?* is in front of us and these streets will be closed for a full week)

Remeber that there are 2 roam scenarios as of the latest patch, one that has no npc generation and one that does so be sure to check what you choose. well, if you want i could write a getting started guide for you, with some tips and directions of what todo at the beginning of the game and get into some action very quickly... just post again and say yes and i will do it.

by the way, i'm sorry if i sounded a bit harsh, i didn't mean to, i'm here to help you not to flame you.

lol man... i doubt you even bothered to read the manual and try to comprehend what was there! No, you didn't buy an incomplete version of this game pal, so here is a little help to get you started: About the joystick i cant really answer for sure because i don't use one but i'm pretty sure that there's an option to turn throttle on or off at the options menu, under controls. Also, beware that you must set the thrust to your engines (press 9 and or the W key and see what i mean)for them to speed. Then your joystick may work. Be sure that at least 5 power units are asigned to your engines, you can check that at the logistix computer under power settings (Alt-L). -There is only one campaign and it is for the commander career only! -well well well, oh my... i wont answer this one, i think you should read the manual again. Just one hint, you could try jumping to another space region or simply you could fly to one of these jump gates and wait for enemies to arrive and trust me, they will get there and crush you if you don't know how to deal with them, and FYI they appear at a very reasonable rate (that varies depending on certain conditions but basically you can expect enemies and friendlies & neutrals to show up once in every few minutes) Feel free to ask anything else

Best Carrier or Cruiser???
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to Elric_Sloan's topic in Universal Combat Series
When you start, the Megaron givs you a great advantage over the other carriers and it's that it has 3500 shield points, equalled only by the Nightstar. Just imagine when you upgrade it... Also, it has one of the best PTA coverage i've seen, it can shatter planetary military bases without having to turn or roll the ship and the PTAs can shoot above and below the carrier! Plus, the total is 10 turrets so expect a lot of Damage to be done. The fighter compliment is good also, 2 zenstars and 2 starfighters. Not the Firestorm top-notch of 4 zenstars and 4 s24 ravens but it works. Just the shielding and the PTA protection make this carrier a major advantage. -
Bioware has handled along with Atari quite nicely, shall they go with microsoft now, my only wish is that they can carry along with them the rights for the forgotten realms setting (and i get the feeling that they wont be able to), which is what has made them famous... Baldurs Gate and NWN with all of its expansions.

Better than Universal Combat
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to EbonyKnight's topic in Battlecruiser Series
Get UC, it has been patched too and is very stable as it is right now. UC is BCMG and then some more. It keeps the tradition of the original titles and improves considerably in some areas. -
Just so that you know, there is a thread out there to continue this... look for it under the politics and religion section.

nVidia unveils GeForce6
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
uhh, the battle is heating up again, things should be getting really interesting and neat (prices dropping for the older models too!) From all that info it seems that we have a big monster of a card coming out. -
...its ready. That almighty powerful phrase that solves so many mysteries in life (well, maybe not). Seriously, these patches are always worth it so we should wait patiently guys.

Man to bet all on Vegas roulette spin

He might be thinking that with another 250K he could almost assure his retirement and never worry about working again. -
Man to bet all on Vegas roulette spin
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Chatter
Yup, he said he wouldn't bet again but who knows. The house always wins. I wouldn't take the risk, if i have earned so much (or maybe not so much) from my own hard work i would not go the crazy way and play with my life that way, never. And i assume he doesn't have a family to maintain or something like that, does he? This world is full of so much incompetence, inmaturity, irrational-i-do-what-i-feel type of persons that they hide behind them the way things should be done, therefore, dragging the new generations (yeah, mine included and i can assure all this because i'm still in school and always see live evidence of all this mess) to its doom, and very few stand against what is going on or even notice it at all. Well, nothing more to say here. -
I just wanted to say that the link to download the patch from dreamcatcher doesnt download the rc7, the only one there is RC1 (it says rc1 and is around 10 mb, instead of 12mb), the same for fileplanet, i don't know the others but i think it would be worth checking. Sorry if i'm wrong.

Battlefield Vietnam
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
Ouch... to say the least, well, looks like they wanted to kick their own asses? that could have been their goal you know.... Either way, i got a very very bad impression of the game. Edit: heh, that guy is very creative, isn't he? i found myself laughing a lot after seeing his anti EA games pro UT2K4 advertisement, and the last 2 pictures in the first post too... lol!!! -

Multiplayer patch status
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
I got nothing important to add, but i feel i must say that it is very good to see that you really care about fixing your games and keeping the community updated, the continued support is one of the most remarkable things of your company, keep it up and thank you! well, maybe i really got something to add: it's good to see all that mp stuff forthcoming... you can get really frustrated with multiplayer sometimes, and you can really feel the difference between the retail and the patched verion of the game...all those bugs! they cant stop you from playing the game but heck! dont you hate them!!! -

Ship's Maximum Speed
Pedro Pablo Laracuente replied to chrismoney7's topic in Universal Combat Series
About deploying drones, after you launch the shuttles tell them to fly to (NOT jump at...) a navigation object or anything far away and they'll jump, then tell them to resume waypoints. They travel a longer journey but in less than 1/4 of the time. -
And it is clear that he did not dig into the game enough to make a good review, i second what Bandus said, pure b***s**t.

That GBS III will not be released to the public does not mean any of the beta testers would not be willing to help you with the scripting of an idea. There are many good people around here and i don't see why they would not help you create some missions, just ask them nicely and show your true intentions. In fact, pugwash (if i remember correctly) once created a script for BCMG where you had to defend galcom from a ncreasing number of hostiles jumping in every once in a scripted amount of time. Then i asked him to change some things and give you control over a fleet and he did it. If you're not a troublemaker you will get along with people very nicely. Cheers!
