Children please, this wasnt the point of the thread. I wanted to explore the various rivalries between the player fleets, not create new ones. Please take a look at the opening couple of posts before jumpin on the bandwagon and start the sluring. You wanna slur, start a new thread or come to my board. Otherwise, lets just keep with the program.

It's a fairly common niggle that is. When it happens to me, I curse my luck and restore a previous game. However, you could try saving to a different slot. Sometimes thats helped me, but the restoration of an earlier save is your best bet.

Welcome aboard Akuma! You have made a very wise descision in becoming part of the Orion family. I've read through your follow up email, and I am impressed with the various talents you have on offer. Be sure, I will take advantage of all of these in due course. Every Battle Group in the Orion fleet follows the same naming convention. The GoBG will be named after it's command craft, that being the DEATHBRINGER. The group can have an unnoficial nick name, but officially, it's gotta stay within the fleet established naming convention.

Yes, PRIME Fleet has an excellent Commanding Officer ... ... Im sure I should add to that, but I cant think of anything jsut now.

Everyone knows that Orion and the Insurgents are just itching to pound into eachother come BCM. Why do we all know this? Well, it's because several of the active members from both fleets regually dump on eachother on this board, and everyone reads this board. We've all participated in this sort of berating at one point or another. Some light heartedly, some less than light heartedly (But usually in RP tags). Thing is, all of us (This is an assumption, of course) enjoy doing it cos we're prepping ourselves for whats to come at the end of the summer. It's not really a realistic grudge (Me n Rattler, for instance, speak nightly on ICQ about pretty much everything BC and non BC related) but it is interesting to watch and comment on. You should see some of the stuff Aramike regually posts to my board. Theres a semi rp theme goin on right now where he's posing as a Reporter throwing every dirtly little trick he can muster up to slur the good name of my fleet. It's great! Magic stuff. You should probably all go and see. (Plug not intended. ) Anyway, to the main point. As I said in the opening statement, Orion and the Insurgents (In RP only, remember) have a hate hate relationship thing goin on. What I think would be interesting to investigate, is the relationships between the other Galcom fleets. Not just talking about between, say, Wraith and the Insurgents, but between Earthcom and another GalCom fleet. How does one rate/regard the other? Are there personalities from whatever fleet who are well known for one reason or another to another fleet? This doesnt only span RP, but the general day to day interaction that we all see here on the forum. Ok, how about another. Who would you class as a real *character* on the forum, and why? What makes them this way? Anyway, I thought about dumpin this in the General Discussion forum, but since it mostly focuses on the RP side of things, here it is. Like my colegue suggest, Galcom isnt perfect, but it's a damn sight better than the the sort of social unrest that the benevloent Insurgency is causing/will continue to cause should the movement ever gain any real momentum and validity. No thanks necessary. started Savage, going for his glass of whisky. One of the perks of being Fleet Commander is a limitless supply of free crap you can pick up and walk away with. Only the other day, I mailed a shuttle to my cousin back home. Wolfe grinned. A shuttle, sir? Arent there regulations against that sort of thing? Savage downed his whiskey, gasped at the unexpected smoothness of the liquor and failed to suppress a slight grimace. Oh yeah, thats smooth. When he composed himself again, he considered Wolfes question. Regulations? I tend to just flick through the sections of book that Im not particularly interested in. Anything relating to procuring a shuttle, for instance, I tend to browse over. Wolfe couldnt help but smile. From what little he knew of the Fleet Commander, it was obvious that the man had a sense of humour uncommon amongst most of GalComs higher ups. He also seemed to have something of a chaotic streak, perhaps even a little eccentric. He didnt know for sure whether to take the shuttle crack as a joke, or whether he was being serious in a round about way. Whatever the case, it was the first time both men had ever spoken face to face, and it struck Wolfe as strange that the Fleet Commander chose now to spark up a conversation. Is there anything I can do for you, sir? asked Wolfe, a little more bluntly than he had anticipated. Savage put the glass back down on the table and leaded back all the way in his seat. Well, since you want to be all formal, commander, why dont you tell me exactly what happened on your last trip out. Wolfe inwardly frowned. He had a feeling it was going to boil down to this. Im sure youve read my report, sir. Savage nodded. I did, but I got the feeling that there was something missing. Wolfe shook his head. Its all there, sir. Everything. I dont think so. Said Savage, clicking his fingers together and gesturing the waitress back over to his table. Oh, and call me Karl, were not on duty now. That made Wolfe nervous. Getting familiar with a superior officer was one thing, but getting familiar with one of the most powerful men in GalCom was another. Still, Savage wasnt youre average, run of the mill Fleet Commander. He came across more like a pauper than a prince. Maybe that was his gift. Maybe thats why his people respected him. He was down to earth, friendly even. Still, it was unusual. Sir, if you dont mind, Id rather not talk about it. Its . Personal. Im aware of that, commander. I wouldnt be asking otherwise. Wolfe frowned. So, youre asking me because it is personal? Savage sighed. No commander, Im asking you because Im seeing a look in your eyes that frankly, scares the shit outta me. Its the kind of look that if goes unchecked, makes a man do things that he shouldnt. I think youre being a tad melodramatic. Said Wolfe, not even trying to hide his anger. Am I? replied Savage. Why dont you ask yourself that question. Really ask it. If you can honestly tell me that you think youre ok about this, then Ill leave it right here, not another word. For a moment, both officers said nothing. The waitress returned with another round of whiskey, smiled briefly at both men and went on her way. By the time the Fleet Commander had picked up his glass once again, Wolfe had finished contemplating his words. Ok, started Wolfe. Where do you want me to start? Savage took a hefty gulp from his glass, squinted as he swallowed and replaced the beverage back down on a plastic coaster. The beginning, right from the very beginning. *** Hope this isnt over stepping. With the exception of those commanders I already knew couldnt attend and those that were otherwise engaged, there wasnt enough of us there to warrant discussing anything. Savage had been watching Commander Wolfe most of the time he had been in the Lounge that evening. He'd just sat there, staring intently into a glass of whisky, not moving, not even blinking for as long as Savage had watched. Not even when the band had changed from playing gentle jazz tunes to somthing a bit more upbeat, the lighting comming up from a depression enhancing blue to a mix of psychadelic colors, did Commander Wolfe notice. Savage knew why of course. He'd read the reports, spoken at length with both his Intelligence and Executive Officer about it, he'd even considered getting the stations counselor involved. However, somthing made him hold back. He didnt think that forcing the man to talk to a counsellor would help resolve things. Some people, some traumas cant be cured by a gentle hand and well meaning gestures. The problem was, figuring out what would help him, if anything. Maybe I shouldnt do anything at all, he mused. Maybe I should just let him deal with it in his own way, whatever that is. Savages flinched when his comlink bleeped. "Savage here." "Sir, I've pulled up those sensor logs you requested. Shall I have them transfered to your office?" Savage nodded, then chided himself for forgetting that it was an audio only link. "Sure Reynolds, have it downloaded into my personal database. I'll review them in the morning." "Yes, sir. Have a good evening Fleet Commander." With that, Reynolds linked off and the leader of the mighty Orion Fleet was once again left to his thoughts. Just then, he noticed that Wolfe had drained his whisky glass and didnt seem to be in any hurry to replenish it. This gave him the oppurtunity step on over, break the ice with the offer of a drink. Maybe get the solemn officer to open up a little. It couldnt hurt. Quickly, Savage called the attention of a waitress and ordered two whiskys for immediate delivery to Wolfes table. When she had gone, he quietly stood, steadied his pressed uniform and casually drifted over to Wolfes table. "Mind if I join you?" he said, stopping short of seating himself and awaiting approval from his would be companion. Wolf seemed surprised, then a little annoyed. "I come bearing gifts." said the Fleet Commander, gesturing to the approaching waitress who carried a tray with two glasses of neat whisky. Wolfe exhailed, and politely offered the other seat to his superior. Savage sat, the waitress deposited the two glasses and waltzed away with a wink and a smile. Could it be just me, or is anybody else not getting email notification to replies to their topics? While Im at it, Im useless when it comes to rememberin passwords. As such, whenever I lose my system for one reason or another, I generally re-request my password so I can post to the forum. These are all the ones that are, or have been ACTIVE. By active (As you should all well know by now) I mean vocal often enough to post more than once in a blue moon. Most others tend to have a shout when there is somthing directly relivant to them goin on. We the ones with the big gobs. 'nuff said.

... and only so many times you can hit the refresh button ... just think of the finger cramp. And with the average age of some of our commanders, we dont need no extra cramp ...
