Down loading drivers now. I assume if I follow the instructions my old Intel video card won't wake up and try to take over and become the primary card again?

Every time I try to take a ship to a planet or send a fighter into a planet the game locks up hard. I'm not sure if this is a video card issue or not so that is why I posted here. I have played the game for up to an hour in space with no problems, but anything on a planet cause a lockup in minutes. Here are my specs P3 1mhz 511 mb ram (1 mb dedicated to crappy Intel 810 video card which is disabled.) ATI Radeon 32 mb PCI card 55.8 gb harddrive with 36. 9 gb free I have direct x 8.1 installed and the latest patch installed. I have followed the faq for my video card except I have not messed with the drivers because I am not sure how to go about this with out messing up the computer. I want to make sure its a video card issue before I do that. I'm afraid of messing with the drivers because this computer has an intel 810 video card and it was a nightmare disabling it and getting the computer to accept the Radeon card. Well I just printed it and it only printed the left half of the screen, because the screen was too wide. O well, thanks for the help. I'll figure it out one of these days. I've never wasted so much time trying to print something, so this is definitely a testiment to how enthralled I am by this fantastic, epic game that you created Mr. Smart. Thanks for making it!

All right I've had family and friends look at this and none of us can figure out how to poster print. I'm desperately looking for the printer manual, but I'm not sure if I can find it. I really need some help here.

How do you poster print? Ive messed with all kinds of menus and I have not found an option to poster print. Where would I find this option?

What I mean is when I pring the cruiser page I get the Asset Class, Asset Type, craft speed, qty of turrets, qty of main guns, and then the rest of the stats are off the page. The page is too wide to print. How did you manage to print the Cruiser appendix with all the stats for each cruiser on the same page? I'm sure this is one of those times when I'm missing something extremely obvious.

Ok maybe Im an idiot but when I go to print out the carriers for example the only thing that is going to print is the picture of the carrier and the first few stats. The picture is too wide, so most of the stats won't fit and won't print. Also I was hoping that it was possible to buy a printed Appendix. I think it is a vital thing to have. (Btw I was hoping another player could help, the last thing I wanted was to get Mr. Smart involved in this little dumb thing.)

So is there any printable version of the appendix? I can't figure out how to print out the stats of things like the ships without most of the information running off the page. How else can you know what missile is what and all that?

I figured this might be a safe place to post this question. Is there a good place to get the stats of all the ships, missiles etc, in the game and print it out. The appendix that can be viewed on the cd is great, but it would be nice to have it handy while playing the game. So, is there a website that has a nice printable version of the appendix or will there be a printed version available to buy? With all the ships and missiles and stuff its just impossible to remember what is what.

The same thing happened to me. After the patch I could not run the game. I checked this forum, installed DX 8.1 and now it works. Great technical support! Thanks SC.

Thanks to everyone for the answers about the AI. I guess I'm like a kid in a candy store who can't get the candy yet, so he just wants a detailed description on how it tastes. My questions were answered beyond what I had hoped to get and I can't wait until the game is delivered to my door.

Kush, the last thing I'm trying to do is create trouble, Im just curios as to how the AI works, thats all. I never understood why people care who Derek Smart is, I just care about the game, and have no desires to get into the flame wars about Mr. Smart. And I do know what AI stands for, but I'm not a computer programmer, just a guy who has played a lot of pc games. TO get back on topic, I'm still wondering about the last answer the SC gave me when I asked him if the AI ships randomly appeared and his answer was "yes and no." That one still confuses me. Basically I was just wondering what the capabilities of the AI controlled races would be? If I understood the SC correctly, they can not plan a attack on a certain planet as part of a grand strategy to wipe out another race, so I just want to know what they can do, and since this thread was titled "Everything you want to ask", well this is something I've been wondering about since I bought the first Battle Cruiser game.

I didn't have a question about the demo. And don't worry, I have a 3 day weekend so I am relaxed. Just curious about the AI, thats all.
