  1. LOL!!! Yep, he sure is. I can't wait to read it on Sunday morning.
  2. OK, whoever the resident horror movie guinea pig is (no Scriv, you don't count, since you're score may be considered abnormal since you like this sort of trash to a very unhealthy degree methinks), be sure to post the gore scale (1-10) after seeing this. On our gore scale, 10 ranks up there with the likes of Sin City. Whereas 8 is of the Kill Bill 1 variety (KB2 was tame).

  4. http://www.dvdrama.com/ramaplayer.php?nom=...h=237&nostart=1 According to AICN quote: The third Guillermo Del Toro Spanish language "fairy tale". First was CRONOS, then came THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE... This film is on a greater scale than any of those, yet at the same time is vastly more intimate. This will be one of the best films of 2006. It is set during the Spanish Revolution and deals with a little girl in the middle of the revolution that discovers a scary magical world.

  6. LMAO!!! I'm going to go see it this weekend. Some folks already have and it seems as if Uwe hasn't changed one bit.
  7. quote: Originally posted by Darkling: Same here, 64 X2 3800 looking REAL good Yeah, paired with the right motherboard, you can't go wrong with that. There is no point going with the 4000+, because if you can, you might as well splurge and go with the 4800+ For those of you looking for AGP mobos with the 939 socket, the best (I have two) is the Asus A8V-Deluxe if you can find it. Unless you're looking to change your video card within the next year or so, there is no point in spending the money on a PCIe board because then you're going to have to fork out for a new video card.
  8. Yeah, I'll be very interested in knowing how that board is. If its everything and a box of crackers, I may get one for my lab. Just for giggles.
  9. I'm still not convinced. Apart from the fact that it is from a company that only entered the fray in 2002. For one thing, HW reviewers tend to run different rigs themselves. As a game developer and one who has seen every side of HW issues over the years, there is absolutely NO way in hell that anyone is going to convince me that a board that incorporates AGP+PCIe on the same board (via two bridged data paths no less) is stable for prolonged and real world operations. But hey, its your choice, so who am I to judge? Just remember this thread when you've got your rig all built up....and you start tearing out your hair at some point wondering whats going on with your games, the single most intense apps most likely to stress it. As for board pricing, I meant to write 64 X2 3800+. The price is comparable to the single core 3800+ and you get dual core, low heat, low wattage etc.
  10. Who said that getting a dual core proc needs to be paired with apps that support it? You're kidding me, right? And if you think that the difference between those two procs is merely the .6 Ghz difference, then you surely have no idea what you're talking about. Also, before you went out and shelled on that AMD 64 3700+, you could have got a 64 X2 4800+ for a little bit more. And since they're all socket 939, a good mobo is all you really need. btw, that ASrock mobo you're harping on about is rubbish. You could have picked up an Asus A8V Deluxe AGP board instead. By the time you're ready to switch to PCIe, the board would still be cheaper. Buying an AGP + PCIe board is the stuff of consequential n00bism. I doubt that you're even aware of the pitfalls of any board that has to support both data paths. Probably not.
  11. I'm looking to build a new rig this month with the FX-60 chip. Man, AMD is kicking Intel's butt like it was going out of style. That chip - with all its power - runs cool and requires only 110W of power. Compared to the 130W that Intel's PEE 955 requires. ...and its dual core. yikes!

  13. Yeah, I'm registered there too actually. I hardly post though.
  14. OK, this is just wicked!
  15. Use the game Updater to download and apply the patch. The online VCF has also been updated. NOTES: If you use the game's Updater, the process will go like this: If you have any version lower than 1.00.07, it will download the 1.00.07 update first. After applying this, you need to run Updater again so that it can download the incremental update to the latest version. You will have to run the Update multiple times to get all the updates to the latest version. If you already have 1.00.07 or higher installed, it will download only the incremental update to the latest version. Also, you can now view the VCF directly from the Updater (once it has self-updated itself to the newer version which supports this). If you don't want to use the Updater, then you have to check one of the public mirrors for a link to the full v1.00.11 patch; which you should then copy into the game's folder and execute from there. If the Updater downloads the patch but it doesn't run or you discover that it didn't patch, you may need to edit the SETTINGS.INI file in Notepad and make the following changes : version=1.00.11 to version=1.00.10 (or change this to whatever the previous version was) location=. to location=%updater% Then save the file and run the Updater again. WARNING: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PUBLIC PATCHES AVAILABLE ON DOWNLOAD MIRRORS IF YOU HAVE THE DOWNLOAD (DIRECT2DRIVE, TRYMEDIA ETC) VERSION OF THE GAME!! USE THE UPDATER INSTEAD. ONCE THE PUBLISHERS MAKE THEIR VERSIONS OF THE PATCH AVAILABLE, THE UPDATER WILL DOWNLOAD THEM. THE TIMETABLE FOR THOSE PATCH RELEASES IS UP TO THE PUBLISHER DUE TO HOW THEIR PROTECTION SYSTEM WORKS. 16. WARNING: If you're at work, do NOT click on this link. You have been warned.
  17. The movie wrapped up a bunch of loose ends that weren't explained in the first (and only) season. And yep, they already knew that she was a reader. We already had hints that she was some sort of weapon etc etc. Maybe your friend needs to go back and watch the series DVD again. I think I know why they killed one character in the film. I mean , seriously, how believable was it that he was married to her? What are those odds?
  18. If copy the MP3 files from the BCM sound folder into the UCAWA music folder, the game will play them automatically as it loops through the available songs in that folder.
  19. Is this version out on DVD yet?
  20. quote: Originally posted by Grimm Spector: Cruiser I understand the cloaking device concept, but it happens so often that it's simply not possible. As far as your other comments go Mr. Smart, you evidently didn't properly read the post, I understand the pilot get's injured. I doubt your AI is terribly advanced, you spend too much time praising yourself for that, and the fact that your shuttles do my aforementioned issue of failing in their simple script of bringing an object to me and activating the 'recovery routine' as it were, shows that there is a flaw. Since you are failing to provide product support at this point, since you don't want to hear about your bug, you will receive a charge back, as I'm unsatisfied with the quality of the purchase. Have a nice day. The AI system is not running a script. The AI system is self learning and adaptive. The orders to tow a ship and return it is not running on a script. You have already exhibited numerous times (and sevral deleted posts), that you have NO clue what you're talking about. You think that throwing out conjecture and nonsensical theories which are in no way, shape or form based on facts, let alone reality is going to go down well around here. Here - as has been said numerous times - we value quality over quantity. This is not a kiddie forum and everyone here is required to have a fully functioning brain. Everyone here is also required to check their egos at the browser refresh button. If you can't take time to learn how to play the game, then don't play it. What makes you any better than, say, Cruiser? He reported what he thought was an issue with the PTA coverage on his favorite ship. His post sparked my interest and I immediately investigated and was able to find - and fix - the problem. Thats how we do things around here. Thanks for stopping by.
  21. The solnar does not have turrets which can shoot straight down. Not at all. If they were to shoot straight down, they would be hitting the ship. Load the model in BCStudio (its part of GBS). Then turn on Model/Tag/Primitives and take a look at the positions of those turrets (2&3). Anyway, please don't get carried away and waste my time. I've solved the PTA issue and I don't want to have to waste my time explaining stuff that has been discussed here before or which is covered in the manual.
  22. PTA turrets do not pick targets depending on whether or not they can destroy them. They just pick whatever happens to be within their firing cone. The Solnar works just fine when I tried it; and the turrets don't fire at the same time. They are independent of each other and fire based on whatever target is within their firing cone.
  23. I have actually watched the entire season 1 DVD (which has three unaired episodes) twice already. My fav episode is Trash. I wish they had continued the series, because she was fast becoming the thorn in his side.
  24. A 6600GT should be fine. btw, I sent you two emails. You need to read them both carefully.
