Jude Law? James Bond? HIGHLY unlikely. He doesn't even fit the part; let alone have that Bond flair. -

As long as the activation code you were sent by BMT Micro works, you have nothing to worry about. -
Too bad. IMO he was the best next gen Bond. Lets see if they sign up Daniel Craig (Layer Cake) to be the next Bond or not. [ 10-15-2005, 07:59 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

The next person to post a tech support issue in this thread - or post anywhere on this board without a profile sig, will be perma-banned. No exceptions. There is a tech support forum. There is a forum - containing an email address - for CD-Key registration issues. The game is 100% stable and we have NO CTDs to speak off. If your system does not meet with the requirements for the game - or you're running on a borderline system or have been screwing around with the Config options without paying attention to the warnings, you only have yourself to blame.

You should have run the program on your home computer which is the machine on which you intended to install and run the game. You will soon find out why you were able to generate a hardware code more than once. -
LOL!!!

The TryMedia version should be online by the weekend. Latest Monday they said. I will update this post once I get notification that it has gone online for sale. -
LOL!! Yeah, I remember that one. Hey, at least the search function still works. As for that mad cow flash, dunno. We gotta dig for it. That was a classic. EDIT: FOUND IT!!! [ 08-16-2005, 07:46 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

You should be aware how much gamers hate this kind of intrusion. First of all. You're an idiot. An IDIOT who - like most - just spouts the first rubbish that comes to mind. I use Starforce ProActive. It is specifically designed for e-commerce games and has NOTHING to do with the CD-ROM protection (which requires special hardware at the CD-ROM replicators) used in games that DO use a CD-ROM based protection scheme. All ProActive does is asks you to enter a validation code and is NO different from the scheme I use for my own multiplayer validation. The ONLY reason I chose StarForce for this single player auth method (instead of using the same version I have to mp), is so that I don't have to babysit the servers and because StarForce already have the infrastructure to support online or offline activation. I don't have the manpower nor resources to do that. EVERY single e-commerce game has some form of DRM protection. I have implemented no less than five for UCAWA and UCG. These include StarForce ProActive for BMT and other sites that don't offer downloads. Software Passport (previously Armadillo before DR bought the company) for Digital River sites. StarForce ProActive for www.boonty.com. ActiveMark for www.trymedia.com and yet another proprietary scheme for sites that are based on www.streamtheory.com. Even Turner's www.gametap.com service, which uses Exent's technology (which was just signed on by Microsoft as well), has their own DRM scheme. quote: I'll keep my money. Your loss. See if I care. Now get the hell off my site. You've been perma-banned for being a stupid idiot. -
A must read for every gamer. Its quite long; so be warned.

Activation website quote: Originally posted by Matchoo: This probably belongs in the tech support section, but it wouldn't let me create a new post there. I got my UCAWA CD from BMT yesterday, but I don't have a internet connection at home so I need to get my activation code elsewhere. I wrote down my CD key and my hardware code, but I forgot to write down the website I go to to active it. If someone could post the web address or a link to the activation website, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. EDIT: If you have a problem with your CD-KEY registration, send email - and the CD-KEY number - to [email protected]. Be sure to explain the problem and mention the game (UCAWA, UCG etc) in the email! [ 10-24-2005, 08:30 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

This is a minor update to the ASSETS.INI file which fixes a reported issue about incorrect index numbers for the artifact shield/reactor upgrades. Use the game Updater to download and apply the patch. The online VCF has also been updated. NOTE: Because this is only a data file update, the game's version number will NOT change. We were doing a lot of updating over the last few days, so the chances of this happening were greater than normal. Our system stacks the orders and completes them after the reboot, but the customer sometimes get the errors since the next step cannot be loaded yet. quote: Originally posted by almostpilot: Please, any (new) prevision about online sales from download sites ? Nope. They're on their own schedule. They already have the game. I'm sure they have other games stacked and ready to go online, so ours is hardly a priority. -

Instead of a Tacyon Anagram it read I/Audio_Tapes. I/Audio_Tapes is #419 in the Items.ini I think it should be #439 (T.A. Anagram). This is in several of the assets in the assets.ini file. I don't really want to mess with these scripts...(scared). I've actually fixed that in the upcoming patch. I'll probably upload the revised .INI file in a bit. Problem is that I removed an item but forgot to update the table. doh! EDIT:I have released an updated INI file to solve this. Check here. quote: Originally posted by sckid1108: Keep getting CTD's every 30 minutes. Looks like you have the same problem you did with UC. That leaves me to conclude that you have issues on your machine. Nothing I can do about that unfortunately. quote: Originally posted by macinlew: Any chance of supporting wide screen resolutions? I would like to play at my monitors native 1920x1200. Read the FAQ; I think I added an entry which shows you how to hard code a resolution by editing the UCCONFIG.INI file. Its 100% NOT supported; so if you get display glitches, you're on your own. Even then, I seriously doubt that you'd be able to get good performance at that resolution. If you are still running these aging OSes, then the installer may not have created the shortcuts. If this is the case, download this small installer and run it. This will - hopefully - create the shortcuts for your system. If not...well, let us know. EDIT: This is ONLY if you have CD-ROM version 1.00.03 or earlier. The installer was revised in newer versions. [ 10-05-2005, 09:19 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

UCG has an Updater which checks the server for updates. If an update is found, it will download it for you, copy it to the game folder and run it. The downloaded patch file will remain in the game folder. If no patch is found - or if you already have the current version - the Updater will just quit. Note that the Updater will ONLY download officially released patches. If you want to re-download a patch e.g. if the same patch version was re-issued (e.g. due to mishap, missing files etc). Open up the SETTINGS.INI file (in the game runtime folder) in Notepad and edit the version= line to the previous version. e.g. If you updated to 1.00.02 and that same patch was re-issued. You need to delete the patch file (e.g. ucAWA_1.00.02.exe), then change version = 1.00.02 to version = 1.00.01. When you run Updater again, it will re-download the 1.00.02 patch. NOTE: All e-commerce versions of the game, use various DRM based copy protection schemes. For this reason, each requires its own unique patch. e.g. you cannot download the patch for a version of the game that uses Starforce ProActive (e.g. BMT Micro) for your TryMedia purchase (which uses their own ActiveMark DRM scheme). For this reason, each version of the game has a unique game Updater settings which will download the correct patch if available on our servers. When patches are released, they are released for all versions of the game. So, if you go and [manually] download a StarForce patch version and install on your ActiveMark DRM version, you won't be able to run the game. I took quite a considerable bit of time designing, scripting and testing both (they are different in some aspects btw) campaign scenarios. As such, its not the usual run-and-gun that you folks are used to. Particularly the EFP campaign version. The first few scenarios MAY seem like milk runs. If you think so, wait until things ramp up. In fact, I bet most people are going to get hit with negative EPs by the time the first mission ends.

Ample references about game shipment. I'm curious, has anybody received the game yet? Have they began shipment of any copies? 3000AD is NOT the entity shipping the game, is it? Common sense SHOULD dictate that IF you have an issue with your shipping, that you contact the entity you ORDERED from. And yes, a bunch of people already sent me email that they've receive the game etc etc. Then again, they probably ordered express delivery. Dunno. -

Lemme send that over to Kim at BMT. Try adding CLR=0 to the end of the shortcut so that it clears your shopping cart. Either that or use IE.
