MP Fleet Action Tournament

You should include labels (Black text on White background strip) for each, with the ability to toggle them on/off. Or both. Like the toggel for radar mode to un-clutter the ITD and the cursor-over-blip to display target data in the TRS. Well thats just great. He'll be learning PHP for a while longer. -

quote: Originally posted by street: my poor little dog runs for cover!!..LOL LMAO!! OK, this calls for a game modification. Go to the GFXSOUNDFXOTHER folder and backup the three files in there by copying them to new .BAK file names. e.g. BEEP01.BAK. Note that the BEEP01.WAV and BEEP02.WAV files are just updated (and louder) versions of the same files contained in the MISC.ZIP file. They were added in one of the patches and since they are newer, the game will use them, instead of the same [older] files in the MISC.ZIP archive. Extract the MISC.ZIP into a temp folder. Then copy the BEEP01.WAV and BEEP02.WAV files into the same temp folder. Overwrite the older files when prompted. Using a sound editor (e.g. Audacity), lower the volume of all the sounds you want to change, then save them. When done, zip them up into an MISC.ZIP file and copy back to the SOUNDFXOTHER folder and the game will use them. If you ever decided to revert to the game versions, just delete your MISC.ZIP file and rename the three .BAK files back to their original filenames. *thread moved*

Probably not. It depends on the craft. Rule of thumb: if it doesn't say VTOL, TAXI or HJ - and you're moving forward (quick!! look out the window!) then you're in FTOL. EDIT: I have edited that section of the tutorial again. To download the edited version, check the first post in this thread for the URL. I only added info on how to use the fighters. This meant revising p58-59, the part where you are asked to target a fighter. [ 06-08-2004, 12:56 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -

ALT+D is for docking either with your own asset or with the currently [DIE] targeted asset. Since your current target will be the gunship (or last asset you exited in fp mode), you will get that message about being too far away - from the current target. Because you are. / is used for switching to the asset directly in front of you, regardless of your current target. If you can't switch to a fighter, then the PSP cannot fly that craft. In which case, if you want to try fighter combat/dynamics, start an EFP career as suggested in my previous post and choose a fighter as an asset and start from a space station or planetary base. /me off to edit the tutorial. Again. -

If I can make one post, its better than me having to make two, even three. I really, truly, hate it. And most here already know that I hate repeating myself or embarking on time wasting ventures in the forum. quote: i did restart a new roam career as a psp. started off in my craft looking for the atv. couldn't damage the atvThats because you haven't learned how to do it. A single ATS missile/rocket is enough to destroy an ATV. quote: so found the fighter, landed and ran over to the fighter. that's when i couldn't get in. i tried getting in a couple of other nearby air assets but same thing. If you can't use the asset, it will say "invalid dock target". If you can, but you are too far, it will tell you that you are too far. You need to move closer and be facing the asset. And certain careers can't switch to certain assets. Its on p8 of the game appendix. If you still can't find which fighters the PSP can fly, then start a new ROAM scenario using the EFP career and pick a planetary base (instead of the default space station) to start from. ps: Please fix your sig. You are missing the tags. -

Effective Immediately I have promoted Marvin to Fleet Leader in Prime Fleet The S.C.I.D has been moved out of EarthCOM and into the Prime Fleet structure - where it will better served, until further notice. All Prime Fleet wings - including marine battalions - need to be fleshed out properly and members put on notice for future deployment (mp planetOPs completion is the next big patch target) In the future, marines (like EFPs) will be able to fly shuttles off the current planet and to another. This should make it easier to move forces around without members having multiple profiles. Inactive fleets will be dissolved if they don't get their act in gear (remove old/absent members, show signs of activity etc) by August 1st. Also, anyone who finds that their fleet is suffering due to incompetence by the appointed fleet leaders etc, feel free to send email to [email protected] and the appropriate action will be taken. Similarly, send email if you would like to play an active leadership role in said fleet. I have no problems firing fleet leaders, regardless of tenure here. If people can't live up to their committments, they shouldn't commit. Period. [ 06-08-2004, 08:47 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

You have not patched the game correctly. Read the FAQ (the section about starting from scratch with a patch), then uninstall the game, delete the install folder, and start over with BOTH patches.
