  1. I have released the RC7 patch. It is an rtPatch executable which can be installed on 1.00.01 (retail CDROM) or higher. Saved games WILL BE deleted. So if you are using RC3 or higher, backup the contents of your SAVE folder, patch, then restore your saved file contents. This is a minor rev which fixes the problem with quitting mp servers, introduced in RC6. It also fixes the repair levels exceeding 100 in some cases. If you don't care about these two issues, you don't need RC7.
  2. This was related to repair levels exceeding 100 (which is legal for some parts) and not the units armor level. It has been corrected in RC7
  3. NPCs will not use flux fields because they are unpredicatable.
  4. Did you READ the part where I said that they are NOT yours? And do you know what SUL actually means?

  6. Well, now that I've reworked the game saving and put in quick save (in RC6), you gonna salute me again?

I hope I'm right, because I have no goats and you're not getting my Guinness. quote: Originally posted by Olias7: Yeah, if the engine was out, I imagine it must have dropped like a rock. Shoulda used Beagle2 to break your fall. At any rate, keep in mind that either through the Tactical>Launch or Logistix>Crafts (can't remember which off the top of my head) you can get an exact readout of what condition your fighters are in, so in the future try that rather than running to the airlock with a wrench in hand. There's always a bright side; with the crater you must have made, your widow should save some serious bling bling on the burial. ROTFLMAO!!! Funniest. Thread. Evar!!!
  8. quote: Originally posted by Darkken Nightshade: Would it be possible to have your 4 escorts to be listed as a Support Craft, that way they would be easily filtered on the radar screen? Would help game play (mine at least anyway) and easier to select them for assigning orders. My RC6 comment is: Awesome Updates! They are not yours, so that are support crafts. If you actually learned how to use the TOM and the PLV, you won't have to worry about this. To the rest of the posts, this RC6 build I only did a few things and NOTHING to do with thrust, control issues or whatever. In fact, I only released it because of the mining drone issue. And I seem to have broken the ability to quit an mp server (I accidentally commented out a line when I put in Quick Save). Gonna release RC7 later tonite to address this. Anyway, I take it that the game save revisions are fine then?
  9. Yeah, DIE is fairly easy to use. As long as you're not getting shot at.
  10. quote: Originally posted by Banquet: Infact the second waypoint doesn't even need to be right over the drone.. I just place it somewhere on the same map and it works Yeah, thats because range checking is disabled. If it were enabled, then the shuttle would always have to keep chasing the drone, vehicle, personnel etc if they were moving when it got to the waypoint. Doing that means that it would never land and thus never complete the op. So, as long as the waypoint is relatively close to the unit, once the shuttle lands, it will perform the op. I was planning on putting in the ability to mark drones and vehicles for evac (the same way as is done for personnel), which would case them to stop, but I never got around to it. I'll probably include it in a future patch or somethin'.

That's interesting because I just replaced my old GforceII, because it didn't have a vertex shader. Ignore him. Its rubbish. I guess he didn't read the part where I was saying that nVidia was faking it in the drivers.
  13. Just as I thought. By now, I think every gamer knows that those tools, Alcohol 120% etc all cause problems with copy protection schemes. As such, I'm not putting in the FAQ because NO third-party programs should be running in the background when the game is being installed or run.
  14. Earlier today while I was testing mining drone ops, I took the crew out for some R&R. Of course, I left Kendrick behind to keep an eye on things. I bet most of you haven't seen some of the amazing vistas in the game. But mzone earth14 is my favorite area. Below are some shots I took. Basically I had a shuttle landed closeby, after deploying the drone. Then I shoved everyone into the transporter and pushed the button. Cool thing was we deployed before the shuttle came over and as it landed, we could see it from our vantage point. After we'd finished training (we did try to lose Resnig, but that didn't work), I designated the shuttle as my target, then selected each of the crew and ordered them (using the TOM) to dock with the shuttle. I then changed the shuttle's orders from LAND to RTB and it took off. Since I had two fighters on escort, they followed it back to space. Once they'd egressed, I accessed Tacops, selected myself for evac and returned to the CC. If you have some postcards, be sure to post them. No space shots please, planets are more interesting. www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo809.jpg www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo810.jpg www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo811.jpg www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo812.jpg www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo813.jpg www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo814.jpg www.3000ad.com/pics/uc/photo815.jpg

So if you are using RC3 or higher, backup the contents of your SAVE folder, patch, then restore your saved file contents. The only fix in this is the mining drone issue, but I also added some goodies, which are probably hard to spot in the VCF, but they are : Added Auick Save while in game Added A new ROAM scenario with AG disabled Added Designate Target command to fp mode. This makes it easier to designate a target without having to use the TDU. Though you still need the TDU if you want NPCs (or you) to have access to that target matrix. e.g. if you have NPC marines running around on the terrain and you want them to evac to a landed shuttle, you could just fire up the DIE, switch to SUL mode, locate the shuttle and designate it. Then locate the NPC troops, use the TOM menu and give them the F10 order (the designate target becomes the target of the order).

  17. OK, I was right about this. The new supposed fix (heh), I did for Shingen's missing drone problem, is whats causing this anomaly. Whats happening is that the drone is collected (as normal), then removed from the game world (as normal), but its status was being set to destroyed (because it was removed from the world by normal means, instead of actually being destroyed) - and thats why the game kernel was showing it as destroyed. OK, you miners can put the pitchforks down now because I'm about to pack up and upload RC6. Will post a message when its up. To compensate for the pain and suffering I have re-implemented quick save (CTRL+Q) and it seems to work.
  18. LMAO!!!! Man, that was funny as hell.
  19. They are doing short acceleration bursts, then throttling back. Thats how escorts operate and they can't exceed the speed of the craft, they're just showing you what you should know already.
  20. quote: Originally posted by Magnum Milspire: As for my topic choice .. what can i say, It was bothering me lol... my apologies. heh, damn n00bs. Hey wait, you're not a n00b!! You should know better! Anyway, I'm going to look into this now when I'm investigating Shingen's flipped ground units issue to see how best to address it.
  21. You didn't indicate what program you used to create this virtual CDROM drive.
  22. heh, maybe the status check in RC5 which is now accurate is correctly damaging the drone. Drones are just like vehicles. They take damage either on the terrain or in the shuttle. But I'm going to check this one out later this evening to ensure that the status revision in RC5, has not introduced this anomaly. And whats with you n00bs and brain dead topics? I mean, dead drones wtf? *topic changed*
  23. Whats a simulated CD-ROM? And how and by what is it installed. And why would anyone need one?
  24. In the time it took you write up that, you could simply have just confirmed what I was asking. Is this in ANY way related to the order being issued while in hyperspace or not? I have no interest in your assumptions. If its a bug, I need to fix it. I have no interest in anything else - especially entire paragraphs of assumptions based things that are not documented anywhere in my game manual. If it a tech support issue (a CTD definitely qualifies as one of those), it needs to be CLEAR, PRECISE and TO THE POINT.
  25. quote: Originally posted by gnowor: quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Were you in hyperspace in SC4 when you gave the order to collect cargo? Yes I was hyperspacing SC. Now you see my point. Why is that you simply cannot be clear about ANYTHING?? I barely guessed from your post that you were in hyperspace when you tried to give an order which resulted in a CTD. Yet, this never did occur to you. But instead, you created a topic with a ludicrous and off base subject. Now, go try it again and if a crash occurs, its a bug that I need to investigate. Any orders issued to a ship that is in hyperspace are ignored. I mean, how exactly does it make sense that, while in hyperspace transit (which you can't drop out of until you reach the destination) and en-route to some destination, that giving an order to the shuttle you are in, would even work?
