Those screen shots don't show me anything meaningful or remotely useful. I want to see the two objects stuck together - and since this didn't occur to you yet - you can only show that from an external (F9 or F10) camera view of the targets.

There's no reward for command incompetence. Use waypoints before entering a planet. Thats why they were developed. quote: Oddly enough I remember reading back somewhere in the Tech support that this guy uses /l3 and it stops the crashing. I tried it and it works for me too, but without it it does the thingy above. The console server defaults to /l1 if no logging is entered. If its crashing without that parameter, then somethings wrong because, unlike the graphical server, the console server REQUIRES some form of logging. So, setting /l3 just determines the level of logging; which means that even /l1 or /l2 will produce the same results, but with fewer items being logged. quote: Originally posted by Darkling: Not sure if this is an RC4 Issue, but on RC3 I turned off the Music, copied the MP3's into a CD and after I got the game going changed the Game CD for the Music CD for better performace. (Figured MP3's require decompression and more CPU time than a Wav file on a CD). At any rate, every time that I would do that, I ended up needing to reboot the Computer for it to recognize the UC CD again, so I figured "forget it" and turned the Music back on after I patched with RC4. Only problem is the Music won't come back on? On a side note, is there a way to get UC to play Wav files for music instead of MP3'? (1) did you see ANYTHING in the VCF related to music changes? (2) WHY are you posting in a tech support thread about an issue related your pissing around with the game's files? (3) what have I said about hijaaking my threads and taking them off-topic? e.g. your asking about WAV files, when in fact, it is widely known - and documented in the FAQ - that the game only uses MP3 files for music? Objects getting stuck to others is a problem with the support structure code. The shuttle is a support structure, as is the gunships, buildings etc. But I do want that saved game or screen shots, so that I can see what exactly is going on in your report.

quote: Originally posted by FishGills: I'm having the same issue. Though my server has a GeForce FX 5200 (cheap FX). I see ucmp.exe in the process list but that's it. No errors, nothing. On Windows Server 2003? Remo, you are using RC4 for these tests, right? And are you doing this while sat in front of the machine? If so, have you tried using UltraVNC to see if that makes a difference? I can't think of ANY reason why the console server won't start on Windows Server 2003, especially if the game is installed properly, the server config tool configured correctly etc.

Kicked Out of Game with RC4

For the record, nVidia FX cards are crap and not worth the money given the current crop of drivers. There, I've said it. -

This has already been discussed. The answer was and will remain NO. -
Yeah, you got it right, but did you read bug #10 in the VCF? Right. So why are you posting this again after I deleted it yesterday? Anyway, send in the saved game along with a copy of this report.

Your DIE system as access to all your craft's backup systems, which is why u were able to do this.

Yeah, it was the Logistix power setting that wasn't synched with the new 1-9 thrust setting which was added in RC3. And Factor 9 is not higher. It just seems higher now because Logistix has been correctly slaved to the thrust setting. So at 9, you are at the craft's max speed assuming Logistix is a level 10. I describe it in detail in the VCF, in order to avoid any further confusion.

Kicked Out of Game with RC4

You're right, leave it here because I would certainly have deleted it if i saw it in the tech support forum. I don't go on wild geese chases and I don't try to fix anything I can't reproduce. Since nobody has this problem with RC4 - and I certainly don't - you're on your own. If you feel its RC4, then reinstall, apply RC1 and stick with it. Or apply the RC3 on top of it if you are so inclined. RC4 saved games are backwards compatible with RC3 -
Just think; you could just have read the first post in this thread.

Looks like Kevin is going to be helming this one in 2005.

btw, this thread is for posting issues newly discoverd in RC4, general comments etc. It is not for existing issues, which may/may not have appeared in this build.

quote: Originally posted by JCMan: Console server works good, but I still need to use the /l1 command to get it to work without "generating errors". The console server does not require any parameters except "/s /console" You only need /l if want to log server events. It is an optional parameter. So, what errors are you getting? quote: Originally posted by Shingen: Did the intruder probabilities get raised? Let me post this again. If its NOT in the VCF, I did NOT touch it. OK, lemme rephrase that a bit. If you don't see it in the VCF, its beyond the scope of comprehension and is not listed. e.g. if I optimize a function, I'm not going to list it in the VCF. Another example, though I reduced the egress altitude to 14K feet, I also dampened the engine stats so that it doesn't stall easily as it approaches the egress altitude. I have released an RC4 patch update. This requires that you had previously installed the RC1 or higher update. This patch is not available for public download. To grab it, you have to login to your profile and there you will see the download link. I will continued to release RC patches until the existing critical issues are resolved, then the final 1.00.02 patch will be available for public download.

Go ahead. You know you want to.

Thanks. It sounds like a good review. I should be getting my copy of the issue soon.
