  1. Try this apply the 2.08 to 2.09 install the Voodoo2 drivers available on the downloads page. Read the included text file first! The above have nothing to do with the problem you are having btw. I just want to make sure those two issues were covered. Once you've done that, edit the bc3k3dfx.bat file and add /v1 to the commandline that executes the program. Do NOT install SDD. because you don't need it. This should now work. If it doesn't, then you may want to use /n in the bc3k3dfx.bat file to bypass the intro. I doubt that this is the problem, but you never know. I am assuming that you setup your sound card before attempting to run the game? btw, if you search the FAQ on the downloads page for the word savage, you will see what it says.
  2. If that 2.09-PATCH folder contains the 2.08 to 2.09 patch, then you can also run it before deleting the temporary folder. The file should read bc3k208-209.exe
  3. I contacted BMT and this is what they sent me back. quote: Sigh, Yes - that was my bust. I was trying to put the 2.09 patch on the CD and we sent out exactly 10 of the funky ones. It's the _setup.dll file that isn't copying and just for the sake of discussion I have that same problem with one other CD with the same file. Hmmm attributes maybe? Anyway, we know. I found out Thursday. They will be sending out new CD-ROMs, but in the meantime, this may fix the problem, assuming of course he is correct. Try this: Copy the entire contents, including all folders, of the CD-ROM to a temporary folder. eg C:BC3KTEMP Download this file into that folder www.bc3000ad.com/downloads/_setup.dll Run the SETUP.EXE program from the temporary folder Once the game is finished installing, open Notepad and edit the BC3000AD.INI file in the folder where you installed the game. You want to change the cdrom= entry to point to your actual CD-ROM. For example, if you copied the files to c:temp and installed from there, this line would read cdrom=c:bc3ktemp. You want to change it to read cdrom=d: substituting d for your actual cdrom drive letter. Save the file. Delete the temporary folder where you copied the files. If the above does not work, then please wait for a replacement CD-ROM from BMT. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 03-11-2000).]
  4. No, I don't want a link to the darn website, I need a link to the file on the darn website.
  5. Match speed works, you have to know how to use it. When in doubt, read the manual, you'd be surprised what you can find in there.
  6. That CD should be the full v2.08 CD-ROM. You do not need any prior version installed. Just run the SETUP.EXE program from the CD-ROM. A few months ago, BMT had sent out the wrong master and had to resend a few units. I dunno if this has happened again. And since you ladies can't seem to describe a problem accurately, you're on your on until you do. btw, browse the CD-ROM and tell me how files and folders are on it. 7. ROTFLMSAO!!! Quick, you guys see if Parias is done with the strait jacket, Nightweb's gonna be needing it.
  8. You must be sniffing glue if you think the manual is missing anything. It is not a hint book, it is a manual. Know the difference?
  9. OK, with the exception of Prime (shame on you Tom! ), all the fleet structures now seem complete. So, I need all Fleet Leaders to send me a link to their webpage which hosts the structure. This weekend, I will add them to the primary Fleet page.
  10. Because only people with Admin and Moderator access, can post topics in those forums. I did that specifically to prevent clutter. Admin have higher power than Moderators. And I don't see Badgerius and Aramike creating new threads. They're neither Admin, nor Moderators, so, they shouldn't be able to. Please show me a sample thread and I'll look into it.
  11. There are a lot of functions that will not work without the respective officer on board. Read the manual.
  12. LOL! You forgot close to the flame by Benny Madonnes (sp)
  13. anyone who takes 200 years to build a ship, deserves to be buried it in.
  14. unsupported.
  15. spcfx is correct. That came from another BC that ejected in order to avoid destruction, pretty much the same thing that happens to your ship when you eject. If they don't find a friendly station to go to, then will keep flying around until they find one. It is just coincidental that you happened to see it on your radar screen. btw, the description on radar would have read bc fore shell. Anyone with access to the GBS, can look on line #200 of OBJECTS.SCR and see the model used during separation.
  16. ...because I have better things to do with my time than to keep repeating info that is readily available. Go to the products section of the site and read it.
  17. So far, I have only received the final versions of the Insurgent and EarthCom Fleet structures. Still waiting for the others, in the format and file name that I requested. Whats particularly worrying, is that even Prime haven't been able to get their act in gear. Tomorow is coming. Enough said.
  18. As long as you are using my glide2x.ovl, the Beta drivers are not used by the game and it doesn't care about them. They will only be used by other games and not BC3K. Anyway, told you so
  19. It is handled differently in both modes, due to the architecture of the 3Dfx API.
  20. I have the 500K version of the Roster list I just removed from the site, in HTML format. You can grab it from the link below. The file is 500K btw. Old Roster List
  21. Its cool but its old technology. Back in '98, it would have been a contender. In fact, they are about 18 months over schedule anyway. I played the demo too and while chunks falling off ships is fine, it adds nothing to gameplay. Besides, all they did is dynamically re-texture the same model, with a different texture. BCM already has a similar feature, though you won't see the multi-texturing (which is what they used to show the insides of a deck). No wonder they're overdue. And its that one feature, IMO, that has the game limited to 640x480. All those textures are custom designed to fit the model. To support higher res would mean unique textures. At least thats why I think the res won't go higher. At any rate, its based on the SFA engine anyway. Step into my office for a preview. http://www.bc3000ad.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000182.html [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 03-03-2000).]
  22. Just uninstall the game according to the FAQ and start from scratch. If you are asking where to put the glide2x.ovl file, it means you didn't read the FAQ, nor the readme.txt file in the 3dfxdrivers.zip file. 3Dfx screw up the drivers on a daily basis. So, I'm not surprised they pulled the those drivers. The latest version is the one released on 1-25-2000.
  23. Steve, if the glide2x.ovl driver, included in the most recent 3DFX driver update (yes, they screwed it up again, which is why I have drivers on my site that are known to work) does not work, why are you telling him to download it? Sure, he can update his environment with the 3Dfx drivers, but if the glide2x.ovl file in that set does not work, he'll have to use the one on this site. Anyway, it doesn't sound like he has the file in the proper place and thats why its crashing on startup. Either that or he didn't unzip the driver in the voodoo3.zip file, contained in the 3dfxdrivers.zip archive.
  24. The issue with duplicate ship names, will be up to the Fleet Commanders to sort out. Yes, it is a first come first basis. Further, even on a 16 player BCM server, no two people logged in, can have the same commander or ship name.
