  1. You're wrong. I just downloaded it and these are the files it contains. quote: 12/31/99 2:09 869 BC3K0000.DAT 12/31/99 2:09 81,626 BC3K0000.MIS 12/31/99 2:09 1,244 BC3K0000.SCR 12/28/99 2:09 763 gbsmod1.txt and the .scr file says: quote: # # SYSTEM SCRIPT - FREE FLIGHT SCENARIO # # This script is used in FREE FLIGHT mode. It contains the default world with # auto-generation active. In this mode, the player is military. # # [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 02-17-2000).]
  2. There are specific guidelines for creating official BC3K sites. Please take a look at the other sites and adhere to those guidelines. Apart from carrying the graphics and copyright notices, your site has to be part of the BC3K webring. Further, BCM is not out yet, so I can't allow a New America website just yet. Please take the site down until you have completed these changes and I give the OK to take it online. Be advised. ps: Please don't take this thread off-topic with this discussion. 3. Just throw a wrench in the best laid plans. Here are the rest of the Insurgent starstations as they are in BCM. I have not yet assigned starbases (planet) yet because I still have to sit down and figure out where to put them and how many, so that multiplayer is balanced. With the exception of New America, the other three are regular starstations. Spectre Sygan New America New Frontier Destiny Alpha Prime
  4. Thanks. I've removed it and closed the Roster. Next time something like this happens, just send email to [email protected]
  5. Eclipse, which part of my post was unclear?
  6. Its not a bug. The free version, like the v2.0x demo, needs debug in order to run without the CD-ROM. In debug mode, there are all sorts of keystrokes used for testing. That keystroke you entered was ALT+/ which made the current target, hostile. Here are all the debug keys. Some are entered in the bc3k.bat or bc3k3dfx.bat file and others are in-game keystrokes. code: Disable object auto-generation ....... /q Do not preload textures ....... /j Disable keyboard ....... /k Bypass startup menu ....... /r Invincible ship (BC cannot be destroyed) ....... /i Elapse 1 min ....... SHIFT+t Elapse 1 hour ....... ALT+SHIFT+t Hyperjump using target anomaly ....... ALT+SHIFT+j Disable dynamic ai update ....... ALT+CTRL+f Switch to current target ....... ALT+SHIFT+s Create friendly ships at target jump point ....... ALT+SHIFT+g Create hostile ships at target jump point ....... ALT+SHIFT+h Destroy current target ....... ALT+x Make current target hostile ....... ALT+/ Make all targets in region hostile ....... ALT+CTRL+s Destroy all shuttles & missiles in region ....... CTRL+SHIFT+d Create asteroid field in center of region ....... CTRL+F4 Destroy asteroid field ....... CTRL+F5 Use cheat code #1-6 ....... ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+# 1 - Restore personnel to perfect health 2 - Restore all ship systems to fully operational 3 - Install maximum shield, reactor, engine, armor upgrades 4 - Promote to Supreme Commander 5 - Infinite weapons for all ships 6 - Give all artifacts [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 02-13-2000).]
  7. There is no orbital code in BC3K
  8. Just as I suspected. The bc3k0000 set of files are wrong. I don't know where you got them or when, but they are incorrect. Download the gbsmod1 again. Didn't I tell you to do this already? You have also put in GBS files in the scripts folder and all of them will overwrite any mods and the internal default scripts. You should never attempt to use the GBS scripts unless you know what you are doing. It is clear that you don't. Delete everything from that folder and then download and re-install the gbs mod and the mission control ones again. There are similar and unmodified script files in the GBS zip file that are not the same as those mod files.
  9. ODS systems are not for starstation defense. They were originally designed for planetary defense back when you needed to be in orbit to scan a planet. An ODS won't fire unless it has a valid lock solution. And usually since it is moving around in orbit pretty fast, if a target is not at the same location long enough for the ODS to get a valid lock solution, it will cancel the command and continue along its path. It also depends on the direction it is facing. They only face one way and do not turn around. So, if a threat is behind it, it can't lock. If the threat is in orbit, or near the orbital plane, it will acquire it because regardless of where its facing, that orbital path will eventually cause it to be facing the threat at some point along its course. It was designed to take out targets that are in orbit or approaching orbit (anything that threatens the planet), not entities beyond orbit. Since you will need to be in orbit to observe a planet in BCM, they're going to play a major role in surface ops.
  10. Open up an MS-DOS window. go to the SCRIPTS folder and type in dir > scripts.txt open the scripts.txt file in Notepad and copy it to the clipboard. reply to this post and past the contents of the scripts.txt file. Enclose it within the UBB code and /code segments so that it is formated properly. For UBB code usage, check below.
  11. You are wrong. I just downloaded the script (just make sure that I have the same version you supposedly downloaded) Unzipped it to the SCRIPTS folder. Started a new FF scenario and I got Fleet C&C, complete with the msg telling me that Mark was on board. The script only works in FF mode.
  12. Install from scratch. Then use the V3 driver. Tweak your memory.
  13. LOL!! The ramming is unfortunately a problem with the overzealous NPC ai and their knowledge of flight dynamics. You could call them incompetent and you would be accurate. The problem is that they move at high speeds and they don't initiate reverse thrusters in time to avoid a collision. Since the engine is so fast, they've already collided before they even consider enforcing collision avoidance. The flight dynamics in BCM is vastly improved and alleviates this problem. The Experience Points appendix gives you the table for gaining cash and EPs. The receiving station is galcom HQ
  14. You can't deploy the ones you bought. Period. Your best bet is to tractor friendly ones and drop them where you want.
  15. And ODS is not a station/base, so it will not appear in that appendix. It should have been listed in the threats database, but it isn't because I forgot. It is just a defense system just like any other and is only found in orbit around planets. To get Fleet C&C, wait to get promoted to Supreme Commander or download and install the GBS mod 1 available on the downloads page. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 02-10-2000).]
  16. Sounds like a memory config ODIN. Check out the FAQ for hints on configuring your system memory, especially the DPMI memory.
  17. I have changed the subject description.
  18. That information is false. All the mods work independently. In fact, that GBS mod 1 (the Fleet C&C one you are trying to use) is a script all by itself and does not require any other script to work. The Insurgent, Raider and Trader mods, available via Mission Control, have Fleet C&C enabled and thats why it works for those modes. To make sure you don't have a corrupt file download, try downloading the mod again. And this time, unzip it directly into the SCRIPTS folder and start a new game. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 02-10-2000).]
  19. There is a *big* difference between a Playmod cheat and a GBS Mod. Read the instructions. They work. And if you don't do it right or start a new game, they won't. Period.
  20. Thanks for your support. heh, it was pretty rough going there, back when v1.0 came out. But, thank God I got out of that party (Take2) and moved on. heh, if you think BC3K v2.0x is any good now, just wait until BCM comes out. You'll be crying for days.
  21. I separated the cargo holds simply because you don't want to have Uranium nestled next to fresh vegetables
  22. heh, congratulations!
  23. doesn't sound like a memory problem. Sounds like a video problem. Check the FAQ. When in doubt, re-install.
  24. 16MB memory is the bare minimum. You need to read the FAQ for hints on how to increase your memory, especially the DPMI memory. Also, make sure you don't have any programs running when you run BC3K.
  25. Do you actually have the playmod.exe file in the c:bc3000ad folder? Did you in fact, download the playmod utility first?
