  1. Yep, this Summer is looking mighty fine. I can't believe this is the last one. We'll see about that.
  2. According to GameTap, its not going live until May.
  3. Now you folks see why I haven't been around as much as I used to. Its been HELL doing this game because it is such a departure from my previous offerings, that I feel like my IQ has taken a serious dip as a result. I've had to unlearn every frigging thing. Derek Smart and mass market didn't previously mix. Who knew?!?! Speaking of which. The damn game can be played with an analog gamepad (!) (e.g. Logitech's excellent Dual-Action game pad) and the XB360 controller for Windows fer crissakes.
  4. We're just awaiting final approval now from Turner's GameTap group before we post an official announcement on GNN. They'll be doing an announcement as well. I have some amazing shots that will blow minds, but I don't want to post them until the official announcement is made. But, until then, feast your eyes on the ones that Firing Squad should be posting any time now
  5. No, because UCCE has scenarios that UCSE does not.
  6. Yes, thats how it works. The server will see UCCE as UCSE and vice versa; as long as the version numbers are the same (which they are in the mp client).
  7. Its been the Net buzz for a few days now. Obviously sparked by this farce the parent company perpetrated and which led to the lawsuit and summary judgement. Greg weighs in
  8. part one part two
  9. I like the one where he says that from the state of the fighters, he may as well call in the Spartan women to fight. Man, this movie had some funny lines.
  10. It had to happen
  11. BCNG will probably come about some day. But as I said before, not before 2012 at the earliest.
  12. Those enhancements were carried over from UCSE. You wouldn't notice them in UCCE. If you have UCSE, unless you want ALL the games in the series and for nostalgia's sake, I can't think of any reason for you to buy UCCE. Besides, its the last time you'll ever seen space games of this scope again. So that might be an incentive. Dunno. YMMV.
  13. quote: Originally posted by Spectre: SC, You stated that all PC games will have to be obtained through Gametap. I have been combing the local retail stores asking when they were going to have Universal Combat Collectors Edition available (I even tried to pre order the game at local 2B stores with no luck), they were not able to give me any information. I have been dying to get this game as I am a huge fan. When(how) will I be able to get my hands on a copy? Chompin' at the bit... (Proud to be an American - Instant Gratification for the least effort possible!) Since we are self-publishing this one (like with did with BCM back in 2001), we're still working with the production and the retailers etc. Once it hits the streets, I'll post about it here. Currently, since this is the last in the series, there are no plans to make it a digital distribution release. Of course if this changes, you'll know about it.
  14. Check GNN for more info later today.
  15. quote: Originally posted by Hellbinder: I am trying to understand the economics. I thought you were selling at least a couple hundred thousand copies world wide with each major release. At 39$ EA thats over 7 million gross. It seems amazing to me that GT can make you that much money. Of course i have no idea how there service really works or how your games since BCM have sold. Not only do you have the math completely wrong, I have no idea where you got those figures from. Plus, you are forgetting one simple rule of economics for smart indie devs. A $1 today is worth more than $2 eventually If the Turner deal wasn't lucrative, I wouldn't have done it. Picture this. Would you rather take a $1 now, guaranteed, than hope you make $2 at some point? Apart from that, the GALCOM games, though they use most our existing technologies and mythos, are a radical departure from the BC/UC games style of play. So, apart from the financials, making GC:ES (we're still negotiating on GC:BT which will be revealed this Summer and with all new engines) an exclusive was a no-brainer. Turner looked at the game since November last year and we've been working closely with them throughout. They liked it. It was going to be a normal non-exclusive license like my other games currently on the service. Then they came back and liked it enough to want it as an exclusive. The rest is history. btw, Freespace 2 just recently went up on GameTap.
  16. It was three minutes too long. So, just fast forward past the first three minutes if u want to save bandwidth and time.
  17. Oh yeah, like Vista and even MS's own game performance website (there is a link to it here somewhere) doesn't do that already.
  18. Just came back from seeing it. I'm, I'm, speechless. Sure I covered my eyes in some parts, but boy, you just want to keep watching. This movie was a masterpiece. I don't give a rat's a$$ if they added stuff to it or not, since I never read the novel, nor do I care for Frank's novels. I plan on seeing it again. 10/10
  19. Just what we've been dying to have. Yet another gaming website. Woo-f*cking-hoo.
  20. Did Take Two Exploit 9/11 Aftermath in Stock Option Scam? btw, thats Ryan Brant in the photo Rebellion at Take Two: People are Talking
  21. Martin, you sent an email on 03-04. You were sent an activation code on 03-05. Today we received another email and you were sent the same code which you were previously sent. If you're not receiving emails, thats your problem. Check your spam filter. Also, in both of those emails, you indicated completely different [existing] activation codes. So I'm beginning to wonder what is going on with that.
