SC, I'm still having the problem with some stations being rendered improperly in 1.0.06. I have found that the stations models are rendered fine with 1.0.06 with the 1.0.05 compliance patch applied, but not with 1.0.06. (I am not trying to use old 1.0.05 games with the new version.) Now, since this seems to be something specific to my system, I've been trying to figure out what the problem is, but to no avail. I've tried the 23.11, 23.12, & 27.42 DETS with the same results. Uninstalling BCM and reinstalling has not changed anyhting either. SO far, the StarStations that I have seen to be rendered improperly have been the Type 1,2,3,4 and 6 stations. But Galcom HQ, Gammula, new america and type 5,7, 8 stations are rendered fine. I have not yet looked at Starbases. Here are some shots: 2 3 4 5 6 7 I'm completely lost as to what my problem is. Any trouble shooting help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm really itching to play in 1.0.06 but I can't until I figure out why this keeps happening to me. Cheers! I was using the full 1.0.0.6 patch when i took this shot SC. I had used the 1.0.0.5 rollback, for a while, then I re-installed the 1.0.0.6 patch and started a game from scratch following your directions in the VCF. Also the ststion is damaged because I was firing at it [wanted to test the new defenses], and that is why the armour is low. When you think about the size of these stations compared to our CC's, I think the immense firepower they have is almost justifyable. I mean, a station would not say "hey, let's lower the power a bit or he'll never cap us!" I'm up for a hard challenge, and if other people have capped stations, then we know it is possible. I think this will at least make us work for station captures. I mean, looking at GalcomHQ I would think I'd need at least 20 CC's bare minimum to even think of assaulting it.

My brother and I use No-IP [http://www.no-ip.com/] to direct people to our webserver that host his band's webpage as well as a private RW base station for the clan I play HL and WWIIOL with. It's a handy service for getting around those IP changes that our ISP pull to thwart people's attempts to host their own personal servers. Be it, we're on ADSL like you, and U/L speeds are slow. Reproducible CTD. ->Restore game Fractux -> 2 ->Go to Logistics > Craft > FC > 2 ->Click on COMPUTER VIDEO DISPLAY Game will CTD. THe game will also CTD if you click on TACTICAL DISPLAY. --edit-- Now, it is occuring on FC 1 as well, but only for COMPUTER VIDEO DISPLAY. --edit2-- Sorry for the trouble then SC. Ok, firstly, I also was hoping it was a joke, but I read these comments a couple times and said to myself: What would happen to me if the US had won and I posted a comment like this without any indication that it was intended as a joke? If I said this about the US I would be banned outright, no questions asked. I'm NOT saying Dredd should be banned, but I'm saying that this commecnt is as intolerable to us as it would be had it been written about the US. I don't want to keep on the subject, as I hope it was just a sporadic outburst, but still, I had hoped people would not just let this pass by without at least thinking about my above comment. On question.. was this what a RANDOM looks like?? I doubt I'll ever get high enough AI to actually use one, but I was looking through the screen shots and this looks pretty destructive.

I was just wondering what the most stable configurations others who have a similar setup to mine [more IRT to the GF3 driver versions]. I've found that the current version I'm using, 23.12 with FSAA gives me a lot of problems [not only in BCM]. And that leaving it off is the best option using these drivers. I have read some mixed fellings about 23.12 drivers on guru3d, and i've noticed that on top of the FSAA problem and the recurring alpha channel problem in BCM, they seem to offer a bit less performance than previous versions. But graphically, I've experienced no glitches [except alpha channel]. What are you opinions/experiences with the 27.42 drivers as they seem to be rather popular? Cheers! That was, actually, my first plan for him SC. I transported him into the middle of a TER/MIL base in the hope that he would be mercilessly slaughtered by defenders, but after transport he was indicated as a friendly. So, then I sent him to the moon

I agree Martin. While the combat is very intense, there is still that limiting factor that I feel in SO many games now after playing BCM. Cheers!

From articles I've read, Zone Alarm is rated very high on the scale [steve Gibson from grc.com, the very outspoken techie on security issues rates it his choice]. I used it before we had our current set up where we now don't need ZA anymore, but I tell you that it was a great program and very easy to use and easy to configure. I'd have to vouch for ZA pro if you are planning on buying a software firewall.

I was just giving him a good work out and he goes and looses his rifle and his kit!! That's a good 2 years in military prison for loosing your rifle! hehe... no matter what he does, he will be a prisoner forever more... Teaches him to try and take my ship.

Hmmm I checked on him later and it looks like he got tired of lugging his equipment around!! I didn't know they could ditch their equipment... I guess he ate all the poultry already Cheers!

I remember reading some earlier posts about the punishments some commanders were dealing out to those pesky intruders. Personally, this is what I've done recently. Now this is worse than forced labour!! That's right boys, you're on Drone duty, protecting them from indigenous wildlife [good luck finding any on a rock in space], raiders, and the occasional drunkard!! All you have to carry you over is a cargo pod full of poultry and I/VIDEOS!!
