Moron-Vary should then be treated as a noun and that is what makes it work. See? In any case... Thank you much.

The one I can't figure out is "YMMV." What does that stand for? [ 03-04-2002, 14:15: Message edited by: Blerm ]

Wow. Surprised at those speeds. Cool. Must be because there's no other traffic on that site (on account of some pretty amazing lack-o-development on my part) at the moment. MP server candidate? I have yet to cultivate my skills enough to prevent the embarrassment of being hosed by all who would connect to any games I would host. I'd have to change my handle to "Shame" or something. Haha.

quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Thats quite odd. It shouldn't matter whether you ejected first or not. Can you check it again, just to be sure and let me know. Then I'll look into it.Ok. I tried it a whole bunch more times and now it seems to do it only SOMEtimes. Before it was everytime. I'll have to do a lot more investigating or something. Damn gremlins maybe. I'll post again if I find anything 100% reproducable rather than 38.2%. ...and believe me I'm not looking to find things. This game rocks. Any game where the mission is to fly around and investigate a carrier and the game allows you to survive a crash into the water, get out, swim or jetpack to the offending craft and land on it is unbelievable. What makes it insane is the fact that it's a Space Sim. I mean holy s**t. ...ahem...*coughs*.

EF and others Assets How do you repair downed asset?
scorchedearth replied to Sailor's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
Hope you have money! You might have to tow it. If you have no shuttle or can't launch it you gotta hoof it and buy one. Too tired to look in the F'Manual to help recall whether or not you can request a tow from planetside. Either way... dude, that sucks. -
I) This game is amazing. IA18 - Naval Recon (BCIA0016). I fly over an undesignated carrier in my fighter at about 12000m. I dive through the clouds a bit too steeply and hit the water before I can pull up. All the systems short out and I have to eject. There I am, bobbing around in the water as my fighter fills with water and then sinks to the bottom (ALT: -11000)! It's dark out and raining. I just want to be home at Galcom HQ. I notice that the unknown carrier is a mere 29km away, so I skim the water with my jetpack at ~14m/sec. After some recharging and battle watching, I jetpack onto the carrier's deck and then... II) I float through it and land in the water again. My AE cannot land on the carrier but instead goes right through it and falls into the water. The carrier's cannons are blazing away at my friends and I just keep "jetpacking" through the hull - I can't walk on the deck and snoop around or pee on the carpet or anything... just sink through the carrier like it wasn't there and splash into the water... After doing research, I find: - It's reproducible. Happens everytime. - Only happens if my figher ditches in the water FIRST, without ever landing on anything else. If I never ditch the figher in the water: - I can land my fighter on the deck, exit my craft and and walk around on the deck. - I can land my fighter on the deck, exit my craft and jump into the water and then jetpack back on the deck and walk around. - I can land my fighter on the deck and then fly it off and ditch in the water, exit my craft and then jetpack onto the deck. - BUT if I ditch the fighter first, without ever landing on the deck, and THEN try to jetpack onto the deck, I float right through the carrier as though it were a hologram... Did I find something worth reporting or should I head towards the airlock? [ 02-25-2002, 18:02: Message edited by: Blerm ]

Setting Waypoints will do what you want here. Manual tells how to do this. Time acceleration is not an option due to problems it causes with the AI. There's a post somewhere by SC that states this but I can't seem to find it today.... [ 12-30-2001: Message edited by: Blerm ]

What was it, "First Encounters" - Anyone play that game? There were no speed caps on that game. Haha.. a few times I had to calculate when to slow down myself and I didn't do it right and I was traveling at close to "c" and crashed right into a star before I even had a chance to react to it's sudden appearence out of nowhere...

I understand. Thanks a lot!

Saved Game sent... I had to email it from my Juno email account because my other one was on the fritz for some annoying reason... [ 12-19-2001: Message edited by: Blerm ]

Copy that. Will do. ....correctly...

No no... I'm just answering yer questions... the crew still will not go on-station as described... I was just saying that everything has been repaired and that my AE's health is fine when he is in an area serviced by the MLS. Nobody else will go to any area serviced by the MLS.... and the ship is still on evacuation alert.

Just thought I'd post here to bring this thread up to the top, where the other "mining drones" thread is....

quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Are you sure that the MLS is repaired? What about other damaged sections of the ship? Did you wait for a few AI ticks i.e go and do something else while on the bridge of the CC? If all locations and systems are repaired and your personnel still don't go on station (did you check their vital stats), I may be interested in the save game. Yes, everything is repaired and I've done a few transport runs and even picked up mining drones. All else is 100% green repaired and my AE can go anywhere, including the bridge and his FF/LF actually returned to normal after repairs were made... Rest of crew is back to full health too... I have a saved game if you need it... [ 12-17-2001: Message edited by: Blerm ]

Is it not Italian? I did a simplified translation from Italian to English (on babel.altavista.com) and a lot of it was actually readable... I tried to copy it and post it but it won't let me... [ 12-17-2001: Message edited by: Blerm ]

Has anybody out there had to evacuate their ship yet? I did a horrible landing on one of the moons of saturn and took out my Main Life Support, so I moved all my crew to the Aux. sections of the ship and/or the support craft (which is so damn cool that I can do that... This game is just TOO awesome). I ordered the engineers to fix the MLS, which they did, but now nobody will go back to their stations (if serviced by MLS). Any ideas? Maybe they have trauma or something... I can't even assign them to on-station in Tactical... They all just stay Off-Duty.... Mainly asking 'cause it's so hard to reproduce... I can't seem to restart and wipe out my MLS on purpose without killing my ship first.... I have the latest patch and everything works fine... Just this one oddity...
