Ever since the Radeon 8500, I've always liked ATI's offerings over Nvidia, I've owned 3 cards from Nvidia and they've all given me problems.

I'm not a publisher who goes about doing dishonest nonsense like advertising ludicrous system requirements for games. If I say the minimum is a 2Ghz, then thats what it is. Period. I should have clarified my post. When I first bought BCM, it ran just fine with the Minimum requirements, but once I REALLY got into the game and started running around the planets, blowing up cities, taking over several stations and so on, the game started going VERY, VERY slow. I'm sure that the game will run just fine with the Minimum, but again, once you get into it and start controlling several stations, I'm sure that a much better system will be required for that.

quote:Originally posted by Terran Marine: Ok, I have a question. Would it be possible for Battlefield 2 to run on a Pentium 4 1.6 GHZ, 256 Video Card, 256 RAM? P1.6Ghz should be OK, but if you want to run UCAWA, You'll probably want to double your processing power. (I Know it SAYS 2Ghz, but we'll see about that ) Miminum RAM posted on the site is 512, but considering the huge maps that they will be using I would go with a Gig of Ram. Check out Outpost.com, I just bought another 512 chip from them for only $38.00, plus 8 bucks for overnight shipping. As for your video card, as long as it has Hardware T&L and a Vertex Shader, it should be good, with ATI it's anything 8500 and up (as long as it has 128Megs RAM or higher) and I forget what it is with Nvidia.

Apple Chip Switch Opens New World for Macs

Actually 35 years ago $140.00 was A LOT of money

quote:Originally posted by Cruis. In: OK I plan to get this. I will pass on UC GOLD, as I don't think it has near AWA in features. UC Gold is for the folks who didn't buy UC. Since UC is no long er supported.Unless you plan on upgrading your system, you might want to stick with UC Gold Edition, When SC says the MINIMUM required is 2Ghz, I tend to think what he REALLY means is 3Ghz. I remember when I first bought BCM and had a machine back then that met the "Minimum" but as soon as I wasn more than an hour into the game, it would slow down to a CRAWL from all the AI processing.

And, of course, everyone knows that all us White Christians hang around boozin all the time, don't work and eat our children when the groceries run out. Oh Wait, I'm a Republican, but I'm Hispanic, ... well I guess I'm kind of white ... Hmmm, have to think about this one ... well does Catholic count as Christian?

True very true... Maybe they should work with SC on putting together one of SC's Planet Sized maps with that equipment

Man you guys have GOT to see The Loop!

For those of you who loved Privateer, it's been remade to run on Windows or Linux via the VegaStrike Engine. I've checked it out and pretty much everything is there but the cut scenes.

I'm hoping that SC will enable the feature of being able to "Capture" a city, in UCAWA, just like you can capture a station right now, but as it stands... when you destroy a city, it eventually gets rebuilt with the Original Alliance/Caste intact.

Good thing he didn't steal a color TV, he would have gotten the Death sentence.

Universal Combat - Product End Of Life
Darkling replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
What's really sad about this whole thing with DC is that if they would have released the game at $49.99, even for only the 1st Month, it probably would not have changed the sales figures all that much. We, your loyal fan base would have bought it, because we just couldn't wait to get our hands on it. After a month, drop the price to $39.99 to keep the sales momentum going, after another 2 months, Drop it another 10 bucks, another 2 months, another 10 bucks. And finally another 2 months another drop it down to the bargain basement to $19.99. The End result, the first 5 months at a price higher than the $19.99 that they released it at, and I SERIOUSLY doubt that it would have made any difference at all in the sales figures. They would have made more money, SC would have made more money and SC could have hired additional help to keep the games and upgrades rolling at a little bit faster pace. EVERYONE is happy. -
Hey, I'm a quarter of the way there and have already taken over 4 stations... Of course I'll need to rest my ship for a bit, buy 2 replacement fighters, 1 replacement shuttle, hire 6 new marines and 1 engineer, clone 2 of my pilots and wait for about 4 hours or so while my engineers finish fixing my ship... Uh Oh.. "There's something out there"... Gotta go!

Here's your mission. Make your way to the Gammulan Homeworld and take over as many stations along the way as possible. As you take over each station leave a probe to keep an eye on things, eventually you'll recieve Fleet Command Status and you will be able to launch ships from all these stations to escort you, as you make your way into the Galcom Homeworld, you orders are to take your now MASSIVE Fleet and bombard every enemy city that you can find. You have your orders!

AMD edges Intel in early dual-core benchmarks
Darkling replied to LostInSpace's topic in Science, Technology & Health
Not surprising, considering that AMD already has the fastest chip on the market right now and they're running at full capacity. I guess they figure, why keep giving the stuff away when there's such a huge demand for more. I know my next system will most likly have an AMD64 Chip inside, their 2Ghz 64 chip runs FASTER than intel's 3Ghz chips, so it's no wonder now that everyone wants AMD. -
Yeah they're talking on EVE's Forums on how you bought the rights to FreeSpace. Don't know if that's true, but if it is, what's the big Woop?

Is it just me or does it seem that A LOT of people have been joining lately?

Universal Combat - First Impressions
Darkling replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
quote:Originally posted by Cmdr_Heard: Just remembered this, why did you take out the cockpit images from the first battlecruiser because they looked ace. The reason is because this version has A LOT more ships, vehicles and everything else that can be driven or flown, so it would have been a massive undertaking to model the cockpit of all those different ships. You will need to wait for BC NextGen for that feature again.
