GSC also reiterated that it is the sole owner of the game's X-Ray and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 engines. ------------------------------------------------ To clarify the concerns of some fans regarding S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-related rumours to have appeared recently on the net, GSC Game World believes it necessary to explain the following: 1. The project is on the stage of beta approval and is being actively developed in close cooperation with the publisher. 2. The team has undergone certain reductions, particularly in the art section, due to all the graphics-related works being almost complete (out of 40 people 5 were dismissed). None of the leads, programmers and moreover, testers may not be reduced at any time. 3. Regarding the technology leak, none of the designers gone has the rights to the gameÔÇÖs engine (all the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. technologies, including the X-Ray engine and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-2 engine belong to the company). Even if the current or next-generation engine would appear on the net, their legal use is impossible. Just caught this on local news. A french newspaper also that ran the cartoons also stated yes we do a have a right to make fun of god. The head guy of the french paper was then fired. The rebuttle by some on the muslim outrage is the that no one from the muslim community kicked up a stink with a cartoon that ran in a muslim paper depicting Jewish as Cannibals. Muslims are now burning Danish flags for a change.

And they wonder why people hate big corporations. I wonder if EA sees rocky roads ahead and are just preparing for it.

Just a quick update. So far, everything has been running beautifuly. Quite a few days or more worth of operating hours. Even with the ATI 9600xt, all the games run smooth as butter. Put all graphics options in UT2k4 to max with 32 bots (max also), insane and smooth action. Now that its been given the real world sweat test, time to pick up another one of them PQI gig memory sticks. Also picked up Arctic Silver 5 (mad dog) for overclocking this cpu. Oh yea, the fan on my video card was dying. I took it off and rigged a chipset fan on it 5000rpm and it's working pretty good sitting on the heatsink. Just don't know which of the few replacement fans to get. Maybe I should just contact ATI to get an exact replacement. Hasn't gone above 50c while running games.

I didn't even know, well if I knew it I forgot, about what was going on. Hasn't the entertainment industry realized by now they are cheesing off more their regular consumer base than they are pirates.

I've gotta reinstall that game too. I actually forgot about that one. The mods look good.
