"This may be the down part of the story rather than the triumph we'd hoped for, but I really don't think the story is over," said Sagan's widow, Ann Druyan, whose Cosmos Studio was the project's principal backer. Past attempts to unfold similar devices in space have failed. In 1999, Russia launched a similar experiment with a sun-reflecting device from its Mir space station, but the deployment mechanism jammed and the device burned up in the atmosphere. Russia tried again in 2001, but the device failed to separate from the booster -- and also burned in the atmosphere. Yet, there may be hope for Cosmos 1. Tracking stations on Russia's Kamchatka peninsula, in the South Pacific and in the Czech Republic recorded signals that seemed to be transmissions from the craft, Planetary Society officials said. That left the possibility that the vehicle made it part way around the globe or actually was in orbit, waiting to be found, they said. "All we can do is investigate further," Friedman said.

No need to appologize. There is a segment of the U.S. population that loves nothing better to do than bash the U.S. itself. Even when attacked, they'd rather find a peacful solution. That's more the reason why a good portion of the Muslim community are they way they are towards the U.S.. They see us as weak minded fools and they know in time the wishy washies will win out over public opinion. Above all else, they respect strength and a strong will.

Or better yet just use an existing model in postal and just add your own model texture starting will real facial photo's of the politician of your choice.

There is going to be a heated battle with the individual states some have greater protection for property owners than the federal government does. Haven't read up on this issue yet but is there property value compensation? If there isn't, there should be. The property should not just be taken away.

According to his profile, he has an Asus no mention of the model however. Kind of sounds like the card might be running a bit too fast and or hot for the system. Could also be a power supply problem. Sometimes the power supply of your system does degrade over time. Not sure of the power requirement differnces between an Nvidia and ATI.

PASADENA, California (Reuters) -- Cosmos 1, the first solar sail-powered spacecraft, appears to be "alive" and sending signals to tracking stations but could be in a lower orbit than planned, said mission experts in California, late on Tuesday. Very cool so far. I like the part of it costing only 4 million. If this was a NASA project it would have been a millions in the triple digits.

Hah, that's nuttin. The Ny city bureaucrats did a sneaky little thing themselves not that long ago in my local area. There's an area around here that has parallel parking. The road is very wide where this is and allows for more cars to park. It's been like this for years. Well, the bureaucrats (whatever was going thru their effing heads) decided to change this without putting up signs in the area or informing anyone. The ticket blitz went on for days and the massive amount of people that got tickets complained to the NY DMV which, of course, fell on deaf ears because that's the law deal with it. Well, someone got the media involved like "Shame on you" from channel 2 and "Five on your side" fox 5 etc.... You never saw a bunch of bureaucrats scramble so fast for damage control. In the end, the BS new law was cancelled as were those tickets that the people got. I'd like to see a few bureaucratic heads roll on that one.
