Well I found out a little bit about the designer: Pep Torres created the device - dubbed "Your Turn" - when he was asked to a design a Fathers' Day gift. This was all I could gather on this guy. Yup, I saw a program on PBS about 15 years ago that said just that. Their enviorment can only support so many. The way the west has gone in there and just thrown money and food and some technology has helped increase the population in a place that can not sustain the current situation no matter what you do. Sure it sounds cold harted, but such is the way of nature.

I'm kinda split on this one. I understand both points of view. I guess the best thing to do when either in an accident or near accident involving a child pedestrian is to notify law enforcement immediately and stay as far away from the kid as possible. Wasn't sure where to post this but since it deals with politicians and taxes it seems like it belongs here. The Spanish-American War may have ended over a century ago, but anyone in the U.S. with a telephone line is paying a 3 percent "luxury" tax created to fund the conflict in 1898. Makes ya wonder what other excise taxes we are still paying for. The civil war perhaps? Also, how much money did they expect to haul in with that. Didn't think there were that many phones in 1898.

I explained to Jag in a political post a few days ago that last saturday I had work done on some teeth including one impacted wisdom tooth I finally decided to take care of. I've got one more impaction to go. Have to go back in three weeks until this current work heals. Anyway, I was prescribed CODINE and oh boy. So, pretty much other than going to work I've been a house hatch (not wanting to go anywhere or do anything except online). I Used the last of the CODINE yesterday and just got back from my dental visit and no more CODINE so I should be getting back to normal. Ah, to eat solid food again in a few days. ***Back on topic***

Ah, okay good to hear the hard drive is new and in tip top shape. Hmmm, wonder what could be causing your trouble. Guess we'll have to wait until others on this board obtain their copy to see if they have issues too.

Do you have the latest direct X. I see in your profile you have Dx9b the current one is 9c. Also, make sure your video card drivers are up to date and most importantly scan your hard drive for any spyware etc.. Uninstall the game Then do a chkdsk and defrag on whatever drive you are installing the game to. Ah heck, do a check disk and defrag on all your drives if ya got em. I found out more than not once people do this (cleaning the hard drive and doing maintenance on it) solved their problems. Once you do all the hard drive stuff re-install the game and see what happens before ya give up on it.

Two other young people have been bitten since Saturday in gulf water off Florida. The latest incident was about 280 miles from an attack Monday on a 16-year-old boy who lost his leg and about 350 miles from the spot where a 14-year-old girl was killed Saturday. Experts believed bull sharks attacked both teens in the Florida Panhandle. The type of shark involved in Friday's attack was not immediately determined. Experts say shark attacks are rare, pointing out that there were only 30 in 2003 among the millions of people who hit the state's beaches. Most of those attacks were minor bites on the feet or ankles. Last year, when four hurricanes kept many visitors away, there were 12 attacks.

Increasingly, PC games require you install several CDs first, then download some patch to fix the bugs in teh game, and then you still end up having to sift through several CDs to find the right one to stick in the drive to play the actual game. That's a lot of hassle. This may have been true before. But the majority of the games I've purchased recently have been released on DVD (thank god). Alleviating the need for multiple CD's. As for sticking the right CD in to play the game. He's got that right. A few games in the past that had two or more CD's weren't marked which one was the PLAY CD. You know how many times I put the wrong disk in but some games did have the disk clearly labeled "PLAY DISK". The Pc is a bit easier to pirate games on because the consoles need some sort of mod chip or other such method to be able to play downloaded and burnt games.
