BERLIN - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Friday it plans to sell its 85 stores in Germany to rival Metro AG, a move that effectively ends a nearly decade-long effort by the world's largest retailer to crack the market in Europe's biggest economy.

I heard that dormant oil sites that have lain dormant in Texas are now firing up again due to the price per barrel of crude. It's now profitable for them do this and should help with building the oil reserves up even more.

The government is throwing a titty fit because they ain't seeing part of $$$ action. If they were so concerned about gambling, they'd stop the lottery. Also, the laws made in this country don't apply to foriegn countries the last I was aware of unless they made and international law with other countries which they didn't do. If they want to stop this, go after the people doing the gambling in this country and not harass foriegn operators of gambling web sites where it is legal in that country to do so. Government extortion is all I'm seeing here and made another suspect law to do it too.

I know the bits have nothing to do with it I was just keeping it simple for non techies that read this to grab the concept. As for the real world comparisons, the best way for anyone to determine that themselves is to own two computers an AMD and an Intel each with the same or as close to the same hardware. Other than that, we all just have to rely on tech sites to compare them for us.

Well what AMD did was increase the amount of data processed in a specific time period. Intel concentrated increasing the clock speed while AMD concentrated on keeping the clock speed down but increase the work load which had the benefit of keeping core temps down. Example: Say, Intel processes 1 bit per milisecond the Amd can do 2,3 or 4 bits in the same time period. Don't remember the actual figures but this should be good enough for example sake. For argument sake, an AMD 3200+ (Operating Frequency 2000) should operate to the equivelant Intel 3200. Depends on many factors. Not too sure about Intel chips but AMD chips are very overclockable. With good cooling, you could push the AMD 3200+ up to say 2.6 ghz thereby surpassing the Intel in performance. Hope that helps answer your question.

Well, it's about time Intel got off it's brand name and did something usefull for the market because they've been in the dumps for some time now because of AMD's success. AMD has nothing to worry about and neither does Intel. It's like the battle of coke and pepsi drinkers. In the end, both companies are going to offer us better and better products at lower prices than ever before. In the end, we win.

In my experience, it's usualy the stories that are controversial that are the best.
