  2. This weekend had to be the most active I've seen, as far as MP goes. On average, six players wandered the UC galaxy on Server 4 ... engaged in battle, defending territory, exploring planets, etc. Usually, raider and insurgent forces were outnumbered two-to-one or better. Except in a few rare cases, no quarter was given ... or received. Promising. Even without any scheduled Fleet training. Just a little impromptu instruction for Cartman ... thanks to Reed.
  3. Tonight. If I can remember the password.
  4. Ciao.
  5. If you launch multiplayer from the main MP menu, make sure you've set the options on the right-hand side of the screen. This not only goes for the first time you start multiplayer but also for when you install a major patch. Or do a clean reinstall of the game. For myself, I always forget to re-set the options after installing a patch.
  6. Street, you need to join a fleet. Any fleet. So you can openly discuss your tactics with someone who knows the INs and OUTs of the battlecruiser universe. Otherwise, you're pretty much OTL with that monologue you posted above.
  7. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: I assume the ROE is designed for fighter combat. You could use fighters. But remember, the shuttle was AI ... not piloted by one of the players. Had Street or Papi joined, then we would've had uneven sides and the odd-man-out would've piloted the SC. As it was, the shuttle needed to be sheparded by a larger craft ... one capable of launching the shuttle. Consequently, we left it up to the team leader to decide which craft (I.A.W. previous R.O.E.) to use. Even in a warmonger or solnar, I could've caught Shingen had he taken the same route. With a human pilot, Denny and Shin had already suggested using an armed transport instead of a shuttle. Slower. Slow enough to catch, if need be.
  8. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: Marvin or Shingen, please send me a copy of the ROE that was improvised at yesterdays match. Very simple. First team to land an AI shuttle on the designated planet got the win. Any kills would've been scored as you've previously posted. No kills were made. Shingen slipped by me and Denny via the flux field. Ergo, a team win for the raiders.
  9. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: Lets get to work men IÔÇÖve wasted too much time already in our defense apparently for nothing since I stood alone. Not really, Boss. But when it got to the point I was being reminded of the knight who stood his ground in Monty Python and the Holy Grail ... well, when it started to look like this, I just couldn't watch anymore.
  10. quote:Originally posted by DREADA: Btw, after seeing those noobs conducting joint ops in Procon and Gendar all I can say is watch out Prime, you've got competition! Whatever gets the job done.
  11. LOL. Thanks, Denny. I guess you chased him away. Must've been that new waitress you hired ... the one with the baffi.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Captain Reed: Also I would like to know who is going to be hosting these MP scenarios...Sunday, we used Server 3. If all players set a launch shortcut to intitiate a chat log, using SC's non-AG server works just fine. You just need to follow the instructions previously posted to this forum. quote:With that said, when is the next meet? And if it isn't already I think the meets and other information on when these scenarios are going to be played out should be posted some where.I believe it's already posted somewhere. But, assuming it isn't, the next scheduled meet is two weeks from yesterday. The time varies, being adjusted according to who showed when in the previous session. For instance, a couple of us sat around on TeamSpeak until 2100 hours Greenwich local time (GLT) before getting enough players for a 2 vs 2 match. Ergo, I'd suggest starting the next match at 2100 hrs GLT. Previously, the particulars of a match were hashed out among fleet leaders a few days before the actual meet. The scenario was discussed and any last-minute changes made. ROE finalized. Procedures for loggin in, using TeamSpeak, chatting, etc. seem to work just fine as they currently exist so, for the next meet, anyone interested should probably be thinking about the scenario: use the old one as is, modify it, use the one Shin thought up yesterday (Sunday), or develop something new?
  13. Long on TeamSpeak. Short on game time. We did manage to scrape together four players for a rather impromptu scenario ... one that would play fairly for both GalCom and raiders. Congratulations to Shingen for sneaking his shuttle past me and Denny while his trusty sidekick, Jamotto, held down the fort. Can't say all that practice at sending an AI shuttle planetside, without it crashing into the topsoil like some NASA probes we could name, went for naught. Chalk up one for the raiders.
  14. For an OC, you gotta use mouse control. Or just use the keyboard and maneuver a "fixed" pipper (hardened site ... whatever you want to call it when the turret is locked into position) onto your target. Don't worry about elevation. If you get the azimuth set, elevation just comes naturally.
  15. You might want to take a look at the left hand side of the Logistix screen.
  16. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: I don't see why the card won't let you turn them off. Just set them to application preference and that should turn them off unless otherwise turned on by the game (UC does not support AA nor AF settings in-game). <--ME. I owe you a beer, SC. For about three months I've been complaining to Gordon about: [*]My son's computer having "cleaner" lettering in the MP chat box ... using the same graphics card [*]His computer also having double the frame rate in MP ... with a slower CPU [*]A lag in single-player when opening any of the options menus (this one really irritated me) First time I read the above, I kind'a blew it off. Second time I read it (after additional posts), I decided, "what the heck" and checked my graphics settings. They didn't match so I changed them. Then I launched into multiplayer ... Then I launched single player ... Three months I've been trying to figure this out. Much thanks, Boss. And, yes, afterward I checked the settings on my son's computer ... they were/are set as you've indicated above.
  17. I know I shouldn't be getting into this but, nonetheless, let me ask a question: Is the solar reactor fully charged when you first start a new game?

    Roll Call

quote:Originally posted by Shingen: All you really need is speakers so you can hear what's going on. Shin is correct. There is a thread in the MP section of this forum for downloading the (free) program and connecting to Prime Fleet's server. Unless you are in command of a fleet action, you'll only be following orders ... for that, you need to hear what's going on 'cause your in-game chat window will be closed.
  19. quote:Originally posted by Shingen: If people are not going to introduce themselves and make an effort, I don't want them in TDH. Shin, if you do it that way, you'll probably get nothing but n00bs who don't read before posting. Many who actually read all the prerequisite info simply register at the Fleet database and wait for a reply.
  20. quote:Originally posted by BombFox: If im feeling competitive I put Resnig and some of his stupid marines into other OC's and set a circular course of waypoints around the CC and then challenge them to a 15 lap race around it Dang. You learn something new almost every day. And what an idea for multiplay.
  21. quote:Originally posted by Shingen: The crew is gonna have beer and pizza for quite awhile! Sheesh, are you cheap. After an exceptionally good day, my crew get steak and lobster. This part I can understand.
  22. Hard to believe it but I'm beginning to think Resnig had children.
  23. According to your quote ... quote:To rise in or be carried through the air by the windMore importantly, no mention of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane while it's still "flying."
  24. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: ...I've typed out the ROE and sent it to Marvin for review and to fire it off to all fleet leaders for testing within their fleets or with other fleets. Fleet leaders, please PM me with an email address and I'll send you a copy of Remo's scenario.
  25. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: I intentionally did that. LOL, Boss. I surely hope so ... 'cause it would really be scary if those black holes had popped up all by themselves ... unprogrammed.
