  1. LOL!! Didnt thought about that... this game is really something apart from the other games, you have to be careful of all you do...
  2. StarTrek mod?....mmmmmmh.... Its now like 6 years that I dont run 3DStudio,dont remember how I worked with it.But you can be sure you will have a little Star Wars mod for UC available some months after I get my hands on it .I sitll have the models of frigates, fighters and cruisers I did with the first 3DS,I will have to check if I can convert them to the actual 3DS,anyone knows if its possible? Cant wait to play UC with my BCMK1,and cant wait more to play it with my Nebulon-B class frigate "Ypress"
  3. Never saw Big O, is it worth seeing? Robotech is one of the best anime series IMHO,I even have the game for Nintendo gamecube,it rocks Escaflowne was also good but couldnt see the last episodes. Either way I readed manga far more than saw OVAs or anime series.Special recomendations go for Appleseed,Dominion tank police,Alita(superb) and ghost in the sell.

  5. I dont use to drink beer, but when I do I prefer Heineken as a standard choice. The one wich I like best but cant find it anywhere (except for specialiced sites) is Judas,a mix of beer and vodka (I think it was vodka). But what I do drink a lot is Moskovkaya (vodka) with Burn/Red bull, or Vodka with orange.(Yes I do look like a little drunk but only in aparience)
  6. quote:Originally posted by Ace Ventura: Well got the game [bcmg] about 4 or 5 days ago. Much harder than I ever anticipated. Beings that I couldn't post until now... I just searched my brains out and persisted to learn as much as I could. Well I am getting pretty far now... blew up a second star base yesterday... got about 70mil to shop with. Got a ? tho'. How long does it take RANDOM to become active. Seen it at a shop but it's greyed out. I got the itch to try it on somebody... Also can a star base/station be towed? Probably not, but I thought I'd ask. The ones I've blown up come back and are grey. If I don't do anything to them will they come back??? Hi there RANDOM weapon and the other artifacts start to be available at starbases after 2 days of play (48h) if I remember correctly. And you need your research engineer to be at 100 AI to program the weapon.Check the manual and manual appendix for info. When destroying a starbase it rebuilds again after some hours.Check the manual and manual appendix for info. Dont know if a starbase can be towed, just try it. And remember to check the manual and manual appendix for info when you are bored waiting the CC to repair. Bye
  7. By this press, it sounds like this game is going to doom the world. This will end in users of this kind of games holding a license that assures their psicological stability, with a monthly forced visit to their local psicologue.
  8. Problem is education, culture, mentality and ideals. You have to look to the arabic world as "another world".US,Europe and others are like leafs that are stick to the branch of a tree called Earth. But the arabic countries are leafs of other branch. We are similar but not the same.Until both parts agree to understand each others origins, beliefs and culture things will be as they are now. If when Im a child Im told that US is the devil, and they want to see us all in misery, you can bet that when I grow up I will not "love" the US.Dont be wrong,I really DONT like the US,but Im lucky to live in freedom and to have all the resources I want to form my own opinion. Is for that that I can recognize the good things the US do and the bad ones. The problem is the people that is not in the same situation, people that lacks the means to form a personal opinion. They have what their society and their governement gives to them. And in the middle of this all the religion stands as a big wall. At some point our countries did rebel against their governement, and struggled to give more power to the people. This is not the case of that countries. And about the major mistakes, dont worry, some things will never change unless the humans stops from being humans.Take the age of the mother earth and compare it to the age of the human civilization,we are still babys learning how to live in this world. OMG, this things brings me headache
  9. Please please tell more about the game... The handling is like Elite? like real physics? Only fighter to fighter combat or also capital ships?
  10. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: quote:Originally posted by Scrivener: A WW2 game done by the Op Flashpoint crew would be a dream come true. BF1942 just dosnt do it for me. It's come a long way since it's release, but it still plays like an arcade game... the dumb man's wargame, imo. I want realism. I want realism bar no expense. That means options, freedom, and atmosphere... and I don't want the oft-unreliable ESRB to even be a consideration. Now I don't remember what it was we were talking about. Ah well - End of Rant. YOu need to download the Battlegroup42 mod for Battlefield and play it online, it keeps getting better and better. The vehicles are much better, the realism is much better and the game plays much better, IMHO. The planes are much more realistic in their flight characteristics, the tanks and how they shoot are much better, the skins and models are also much better. There are many more vehicles, and it all around plays much better. I liked Opflash, but it just didn't do it for me, again, it takes forever to get it online, same goes for ghost recon, 10 minutes at least, to get the program up, another 5 trying to find a decent server with the right versions etc, and then it takes another 3-4 getting the multiplayer up and running and get to playing. I hate that, unlike Halflife, where nam, hit a server and you're there. Battlefield is not much better in that respect, but using Gamespy, it is a tad bit faster, takes around 3 minutes to get online and playing. Again, just MHO. Agree.Flashpoint is a single player game for me.Multiplayer option is only worth if you play in a big LAN or with a known group of friends (waiting 8 minutes to get people to play and then lose 2 of them cause they get bored and flee away looking for another server is not fun,it gets you angry )
  11. I deployed 30 kilometers away from target, but I dont really know the "safe" distance to land the shuttles.I organized the rest of the attack while the ATV and personel where in transit to the base. Also think that an OCV will be fired upon by any FCs the base deploys, and they will be destroyed if they dont have back up. Think about OCV as a transport for personel from the landing point to the outskirt of the base.Only the ATV have good chances of surviving an assault. System enginers and medics are valuable personel, I always use flight engineers because you rarely have to use them all (you need only 2 to prepare a FC). Just try to experiment things, this game was made to do it.You only have to think "what if..." and try and try.Ground ops. are very balanced and there isnt a straight way to kill a base ( except strafing with the CC or with a pair of OTS)
  12. quote:Originally posted by Ogiwan: Bleh, sounds like it. I just had an idea of having one fighter striking the barracks and launch pad (i usually get a crapload of fighters); only problem is the strike order only makes one pass, and then he goes skybound. If i have a second waypoint repeat actions, the fighter just ends up dogfighting the 6-8 enemy fighters that appear (and they rarely manage to kill any...). MAYBE i should arm them all with a pair of ATS, and 8 ATA, have their first waypoint planetside be "Strike", and then let them do air cover..... Be sure that in the waypoint that orders to "strike" is targeting your target.Use the "target" option in the waypoint menu and click over the intented target. Your pilot will know you want THAT target burned instead of any one near the waypoint. And if he thinks about getting away just remind him his duty by menu Attack>enemy>target. Now he will stay till the target is no more (or till he is no more ) The pads will launch enought Fcs to overwhelm yours. The hit and run tactics are your only FCs friends. If the target is not destroyed then RTB the FCs and launch another wave to the target. If you are in a super carrier then you can rotate throught the FCs,so you have always a pair out in a mission while others wait to be launched and the unmanned ones are checked and prepared for more action (if anyone wanted to know why you had 8 FCs and only crew for 4 know you have an answer ). If you ever played a combat simulator with high AI oponents (in other words a decent sim), you will remember that when you are engaged by 2 or 3 or more enemys you stay more than 50% of the time finding who is shooting at you at any time, and little time and atention is free to try killing anyone.Thats what happens to your pilots when ordered to stay at an enemy base, they simply cant do much more than trying to stay alive . So because your marines are cheaper than a FC,try to take out the pads first with a team of marines teleported directly inside the base.Be sure you assign the marines who have the rocket launchers (if they are elite marines better). When the pads are gone then your FCs will have a fair fight down there. Mmmmmmmmmh I think I speak too much when im allowed to
  13. Have you tried this one? http://ofp.gamezone.cz/ Take a look at the news archives, there are tons of WW2 material for flashpoint done by several people. Also in the addons section you can find some WW2 soldiers and tanks, even a wake island I think.
  14. Ok, I took over a base yesterday using a combination of marines (15) FCs (4) and a single ATV. First problem was my ATV did not want to go to the base, but was because its first waypoint was at his back,so it tried to go away to the waypoint and then go to the second one wich was at the base.Placing the first waypoint between him and the base all was ok. Then I launched an airstrike to destroy bunkers and avoid too many bad guys to be deployed from the base and then I attacked with my AE and the marines. Notice that when the marines are deployed them all target marine #1 with an escort order, so marine 1 is the lider and the rest follow him. Order marine 1 to attack and the others will either A)help him with his target B)target any threat like AAAs or other marines C)they will simply target other buildings. Only like 5 or 8 enemy marines where deployed, and they were killed easily. When I was forced to withdraw with teleport,I went down with the CC and finished what was remaining.Final outcome: 1 enemy base leveled to the ground, 1 ATV destroyed, 4 marines dead (including the atv driver) and 2 FC destroyed. An expensive ground op. I think.
  15. quote:Originally posted by Ogiwan: Hello all, i'm having a problem with operations on any planet; my OCVs won't do anything. If set to SAD, they drive around. If i tell them to attack something (using the attack>enemy>select target), they drive away from the base. If i tell them to attack an enemy structure on my priority list, they drive to it, and then resume driving around aimlessly. The only reliable way i've found to hit enemy ground instillations is to take my CC down and strafe it. If i try to land Marines, they shoot at some stuff for a while, and then the enemy marines come out and toast my boys. I have the feeling this could be avoided by having armored support with them.....but the armored support doesn't work.... (edit: forgot to turn e-mail notification on) My experience in BCM is not very large (nice way to say "noob" ) but try this: 1-Be sure the target you select on the attack>enemy>target IS actually placed INSIDE the base you are planing to attack. The list can display targets in other bases, specially in the priority list. 2-Be sure the OCV ordered to attack can reach the target selected (dont know if this can be the problem, just trying to think possibilities) 3-Assign marines to drive the OCV or personel with high AI. Finally, the firepower a base can deploy is larger than the one of a marines team, or than all of your FCs or OCVs. You need them all and a good plan to defeat a ground base.Only the CC can do the job alone and not always will come out in a single piece. Dont take me very seriously, Im a noob also but I think the above will help you

  17. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: quote:7) Medal of Honor: Rising Sun - I'm mostly a PC fanatic by blood, but since I work at a video game store I have all the systems anyway. Admitedly, I didn't like the other Medal of Honors... any of them. But this one I hate... yes, it sucks and it sucks hard. The portrayal (cutscenes) of Pearl Harbor border on offensive in their stupidity and irreverence. The gameplay is a combination of walking down invisible-wall barricaded coridors and hopping on a turret to shoot endless waves of mindless aircraft/japanese who don't fire back. 1/10 Not suprised. In Call of Duty, there were some "epic levels" with historic levels when you were *gasp* invulnerable. Most of the time, the soldiers that came with you to help were invincible. In the second map, there's a part where the captain invariably seems to get in front of the panzer MG42 .. and he stays there to be shot at for about 5 seconds. In in the pegasus bridge mission (british) you are about 15 guys against maybe hundreds of germans .. and you get shot at from every side, and you kill alot of them and you SOMETIMES take damage (but nowhere close to what you would take normally) ... then in the middle of it, they disable invulnerability. To finish the mission i had to find a hole to hide in to only peaking out to kill tanks since I'm the only one that can do anything but shoot (planting bombs, using artillery, using pazerfausts, oh and i always need to be first) Same opinion here. All Medal of honor games suck a lot. And Call of duty is a good step ahead but still ends being dumb. Personally I cant take seriously those kind of games after Operation flashpoint, they feel very infantile to me.(no intentions to ofend anyone here, sorry ) In the other hand Battlefield1942 is pretty cool! And wolfenstein enemy territory rocks UFO aftermath, being a big fan of Xcom UFOAft. deceives me a little. No fights inside houses and stuff like this(apart from ufos and bunkers) but altought it lacks some things,it has lots of new features to compensate it. Its a 8/10 to me (considering you havent played xcom ever) Just my 2 cents.
  18. With posts like this its geting hard to be a noob Quazar, you look like a "mentat"
  19. Merry christmas for everybody And dont drink too much

  21. I have Morrowind and is one of the best RPG I have played. Its not as dense as Baldurs gate for example, but the inmersion in the history and the world is TOTAL. The game has a story line you have to follow to arrive at the end,but apart from it you can really do ANYTHING you want, with little limits. You can even stop following the plot at any time (and resume it later) and continue your life. Also is not dificult to master the interface. The only thing I dont like is that it gets short. It is NOT short, but once you play you get so hooked you simply cant get enought. It can steal lots of hours dedicated to BCM,for sure. Well thats my opinion.
  22. Same opinion here.A few more weeks is acceptable, with all the christmas and celebrations 1 month will pass fast!

  24. Mmmmh, I also think having 3d cockpits would be very apreciated. It truly gives you the feeling that you are inside that fc/oc. Could be an option to ONLY implement universal cockpits? In exmpl. one for all Fc┬┤s, one for all SC┬┤s and one for all Cas crafts? No cockpit would be needed for the CC and OC┬┤s cause they are suposed to have a "bridgeviewer" ( wich I assume its something like the big monitor in star trek) because they are mainly closed cockpits where a 3d pit is useless. That would be only 3 pits to do.If at the end we dont care to get used at not having any pit, IMO we will not care to see the same pit for all FC┬┤s and we will enjoy the benefits of having it implented. This is only an idea for any possible release after UC,im not asking to put them now. Thats what I think about this. And thankyou SC for being so clear explaining the motives to not do them, not everybody cares that much.
  25. ------------------------------------- After playing a lot of games in 1 night my hdd got fried i was playing fifa 2004 and suddenly i heard a sissing sound then BAM ... which hardware did you guys blow up whilst playing? ------------------------------ He he,one day I turned on my computer and the HDD was braindead, the Bios could not find it.Sometimes it worked fine and all was ok but next day it was braindead again...till now.I still have it as slave in case someday wakes up again. And one day playing Xwing (fist one) in a mission were you had to clear a HUGE minefield,I ripped 2 of the suction rubbers under the joystick. Xwing.... how many real cool hours and hours have I spended on it,that were the good times. Funny thing is I always dreamed Lucasarts made a game like BC3000ad with starwars universe (I didnt know BC3000ad did really exist by that time),I imagined commanding a frigate with its crew, and an interface like microprose B17 (the first one) were you could see the inside of the ship. But anyway we have BCMG and UC coming so my dream has become true (at least nearly) Who knows...maybe with GBSIII I will be able to do a few ships of SW,just for personal fun
