  1. Yes I've noticed this problem with autopilot as well. I figured it was a design thing, though. When autopilot is on in the ship you are currently in, it will only use half of the engine's capabilities (as if the engines were set at power level 5). But, if I remember correctly, the AI control of assets that you are not in uses the max engine speed (if appropriate).
  2. And like I said I have the same problem. It's not a big deal because it's not a save game issue because once you load the save game again after dying right after loading the first time you don't die. I'm absolutely positive that I didn't save it while there was a missile heading toward me.
  3. Yes, this has happened to me multiple times as well in a variety of death circumstances. It has happened when dying as a marine in FP mode, in ground vehicles, and in space as commander. Exact same sequence of events as yours, substituting a different way of dying.
  4. Yeah, and the funny thing is a single tank can take out any starbase. Once you're in the middle of the base nobody bothers you.
  5. I have to agree with the poster on all points, having had everything he mentioned happen to me as well. I very much welcome the idea of an enemy capital ship coming to meet my main guns. I know how to use my main guns, they don't know how to use theirs. I especially love positioning myself to be at their belly when they exit HJ. A few seconds holding down the trigger and one very large ship becomes one very large piece of toast. But it's not much of a challenge. The fighters are the real challenge. Chasing them with a cruiser is like a gorilla trying to catch a minnow in a river. I also have the graphical glitching on the jump points, with a GF4 and the latest (53.03) drivers.
  6. Having just recently figured out that the reason the ALT mode wasn't working for me was because I had the game in joystick control mode instead of mouse control mode, I now want to suggest that the ALT-style turret functionality be available even when the joystick is selected as the controller. I know you're adding joystick support for ground vehicles in the next patch, but honestly I'm like you - I want to use BF1942's WASD+mouse style for the ground vehicles and the joystick for the space and air flight. Another thing is the mouse sensitivity in the ALT mode. It seems a bit sensitive. Can a way to tone it down in game be implemented?
  7. That's good to hear. It only seemed to happen after I had... ahem... acquired some items which I intended to sell.
  8. It only happens on foot, AFAIK.
  9. Uh, I'm pretty sure the GF4 MX series does not have hardware pixel or vertex shaders. Those are part of the nfiniteFX (II) engine on the Ti series of GF3s, GF4s, and GFFXs. The GF4MX is for all intents and purposes a revamped GF2.
  10. Heh, I have a hard time believing you designed some kind of auto-adjust into the game specifically centered around East and West but not North and South. It's happened to me with multiple player models... commander, EF marine, SF marine (in space), and MI marine.
  11. OK I tried roaming around without saving to test it some more and it still crashed once I went to tradecom after about 30 minutes of roaming. I did do an off-duty resume in the middle of it, if that counts as a save I don't know. I tried to do one before that without the off-duty resume but I had a separate CTD when I tried to exit my CC...not really reproducible.
  12. I will further refine the issue, because it REALY annoys me. The 90 degree angle happens only on East and West (90' and 270'), and it happens regardless of pose in first person mode. It happens within 55 degrees of east or west. It even happens when you're up in the air jetpacking.
  13. Hah, well I guess that answers that question (whether I should have posted here or made a new thread). The reason I didn't post in this thread was because this thread seemed to be specific to a single star station. Mine happens on any star station or star base, and the fix posted here does nothing to help it. Although I will grant that I haven't actually been to that particular moon and maybe if the fix only works on that station it would work there, I dunno. Anyway, I'll just say that I'm having the same problem as the original poster.
