  1. Right on! You go S.C go. Barbados rocks from what I hear
  2. Everybody CHILL OUT! Respect each other's POVs. We are on the same team you know! BC3K baby! See ya, I'm going out for some fresh air. Nobody is wrong! Respect that...
  3. Did you set a pick up mining drone way point for it? If not you may want to try that. Some times giving the retrive drone order with out setting way points may mess up the shuttle. I never go into NULL space unless I was using the jump gates, don't know how you did that...
  4. quote: SpacePhish, don't even begin to try and define what's happining with a trite song by a drugged out rasta from a little island in the Atlantic. Jumping a too little quickly to conculsion there now aren't we. I mean if I actually said a BOB marley song could *define* what is happening I would have said so. But I did not. You know how sometimes songs just pop into your head, and in this situation it was apporiate because there is actually like a war going on. I enjoy his music, but in this situation I don't see what MUSIC have anything to do with it. I mean if everybody judged other people like you just did then we would have this middle east crisis all over the world... I also get the vibe that you think I'm NOT taking this seriously. This thing is very damn serious, people are freakin dying... quote: a drugged out rasta At least he was a happy drugged out rasta. why you mean the beatles were not drugged out? What about Henderix? The rolling stones? I like BOB's music so much better, with the exeception of Henderix. Hell, I rather listen to rap. They talk about killing and stuff *shock* what does that make them? We live in a shocking world, live with it. I don't like what's happening in the middle east, but what can I do? NOTHING. I'm sorry, this post is suppose to be about "war in the east...". Well if you are offeneded, well you offeneded me. Again, I'm sorry. quote: little island Yeah with lots poverty and violence. whatever man... 5. Since the beta is comming up. For you testers who may have just begun to play B.C the ground ops is a perfect way to get some pratice... This guide is not perfect, I'm sure all you B.C players already know this, I'm doing it for tha newbies You ole timers please keep a straight face, don't laugh at my pathetic tip effort ------------------------------------------- This is a guide for you new commanders who may not be familiar with the workings of ground ops in BC3k. This guide was made while playing v2.09 with the map pack add-on. Please download and install them, read faq and version control if you are not familiar with those steps. This guide is divided into 3 parts. 1st part: Preparing and excueting the invasion with A.I. 2nd part: Playing as planetary pilot without BC:M 3rd part: Marine, ATV, and Nuclear bombs. What is ground ops? In v2.09 all features of ground ops are enabled, ground ops back in the days was nothing like today's. The point of ground ops is to destroy ground targets on planet surface, located in planet zones. What types of equipment do I need? IC and shuttles. What type of weapon? ATA missiles for air to air combat and ATS or air to surface missile. Before your conquest of planets you need to set up a good Interceptor team. Divide them into 2 tactical groups. Put pilot with good dog-fighting skills on the Combat Air Patrol team and bombing pilot in the Strike or S.E.A.D team. Arm your interceptor team with suitable weapons for their role. Ex. C.A.P team gets all ATA missiles and S.E.A.D team get the ATS weapons. Next, find a planetary zone to attack. In this guide I am playing a Galcommie, I will attack a PLZ located on the moon. Fly your B.C to the target planet. Park it somewhere near it. At this point I usually set up way points for my B.C in an orbit around the planet, this way you won't be a sitting duck. You can select B.C->Order->patrol if you want, but that will take you away from the planet. I usually stay near the planet on invasion missions. Your IC should be ready. Goto tacops, click on zoom to. Select you target planet. This will center it on the screen. Click on it, a menu will come up, select the observe option. Now you should see a 2D representation of the surface for that planet. There will be different zones belonging to different ethnic groups . Those zones are the rectangle things In my case I click on a zone labeled Ter/Insurgent (sorry insurgents, I'm trying to make a point ). After clicking on it the screen will update to another surface with more red boxes. This time the boxes will be small, some of them are flashing, some not. The flashing ones means that they contain SAL(surface to air laser), HQ, bunkers, SAM(nasty little suckers) and planetary craft bases located in them. You should go there, if you want action. Of course you could go to the ones that are not flashing, but there aren't any hostiles in them. Next, you want to setup your way-points. *this guide will continue tommrow* [This message has been edited by SpacePhish (edited 10-13-2000).]
  6. I agree with both ShoHasi and Gallion. This whole middle east *crisis* is wacked. But then again it's been that way 4000-5000 years(I'm been studying that of the world in w.civ). Condolances to the famillies of those deceased aboard U.S.S Cole. Violent Terriosts suck. For some reason this whole things reminds me of that bob marley song... "War in west, war in the east, war up north, war down. Everywhere is war."
  7. I love my PTA. Most the time it gets the job done. I haven't had much instances with using up all my *slots*, usually anything that come near me is good as dead. Tho I admit I have had some very close calls . BTW I don't think my PTA every fired on a friendly.
  8. This may not be relevent with the post. I had the problem once (i'm pIII 500 Voodoo3), the frame would go from 50+ to 8 then back up. I changed cacheble vram to enabled in bios(again don't know if this will be relvent in your case) tweeked with my cache setting with the program cacheman (search it on goole since I don't have the address, again could be totally inrelvent on you system),reinstalled the game, re-patched to v 2.09, ran it, now I smooth 50+ all the time except when in HEAVY combat the frame will drop to about 30.
  9. Sorry a quick off topic qustion. How's the AntiAlias with B.C??? Does it make BC3k look better or what? If so, I must get v5!!
  10. Hey thanks for tha tip! I'm been playing around with scripting, trying to make a simple mission.
  11. HApPy BiRtHdaY !!!!!!
  12. If you want I could post some of my findings on editing...(puting new stations, linking to regions WITHOUT planets, edit game objects params etc)
  13. Whasup!
  14. Don't go nuts over there my man! Have a good time . Check out the computer/net scene there, you will dig it.
  15. ROTFLMAO....Crack......
  16. ba--by!!! quote: I had earmarked in the past, due to long standing service to the community (spacePhish, Parias and those other fairies of the cause, etc) Long standing service...hmmm I wouldn't go that far heheh... but I will do my damn best. Ba@@by!!
  17. Okay. I will go hang out in the corner now I knew what the [start] 12000 thingy was, I swear! I forgot. As to regions I did make it. I did something like (remember this was a LONG time ago, from a guy who can't remember worth a damn) converting the region file into text file with the utility that camed with GBS, then altered the data manually. I'm NOT trying to be an ass, m.fact I don't know what I'm trying to accomplish here. Whatever you decision may be it's all good . I'm will head over to the air-lock ASAP. If you do decide to release GBSII... Perfect chance to make me look like a fool
  18. I did DO something with GBS. I just didn't post any of it. If you think I'm tripping then forget it... I played around with Scripting, made a few scripts, like placing space-stations, making new regions stuff like that... I had to abandon it because of school. I get the feeling that you think I know nothing about GBS, I don't, but I'm trying my best. (It's also been awhile since I touched scripting, but I had it down, for real.) By no mean take this post offensively. [This message has been edited by SpacePhish (edited 10-05-2000).]
  19. I strongly agree with Gallion. BCM mod support would just be so cool! I certainly would try my hands at MODing. In the past year I think I've learned a few things about programming(3D graphic etc...), I'm dying to wet my feet by joining a MOD team. BCM seems like the perfect place! We will have to wait and see. The wait is killing me tho... GBSII!!!!!Baby!!! I have FAITH in Derek and 3000ad! [This message has been edited by SpacePhish (edited 10-05-2000).]
  20. quote: When using START in the [ai] block, what does this mean: start 120000 near earthz^jmp-01 1500 jmp-02 I think it means starting whatever near earthz^jmp-01 at 120000 units(kilo, miles, whatever). It's been awhile since I played around with GBS. I had a little program half working on reading the script into my own data struct, I was going to use it so I could change the script using a GUI, then I thought what the hell, it's much easier when you just open the script and edit it. I remember there is also bunch of stuff you can tweek with, like missles, shields, stuff like that. Also, you could create you own regions or build your own objects and point models to them. BTW, after looking at the script above I'm probably wrong about the 12000. It seems the 1500 behind earth^jmp1 is the unit. The only person that knows for sure is Derek. 21. Whhhaaaazzzzupppppp!!!!!! Good to see you back man!!! Check out the pic page, there's been some major changes while you were away . Anyway, I was away for a long time , I will have to tell you about some of the crazy shit that's happened to me in Asia, too much for this fourm but I will send you a e-mail . Yah baby! My old bud is back in da house [This message has been edited by SpacePhish (edited 10-03-2000).]
  22. yah! Happy B day my man!!
  23. DeusEx rocks. I'm haven't finished it yet. I got all the way to the Paris level, then some-how my winshz got wacked and I had to reformat. Maybe I'll get around going back through the damn levels again. It's a long GAME, well worth the 39 bucks. Theif2 must get... For now, it's back to the Pacific, steel panther rocks!
  24. Guess I better pitch in before any spoilers are posted... I'm on the 4th level, the one after the tomb-robbin level. Cool stuff, glad I picked it up . I been screwing around with old school game lately, switching bettween bc3000, steel panther WAW(this game is da bomb!), thief gold, and openGL prg guide 3rd edition .
  25. Yo check this out. In the game design fourm on gamedev.net under the name When will I find a game like this available. I posted something about BCM and the responses is pretty good. If you want get in there and say something postive...about da game yeah baby I ain't got no class today and drinkin hella coffee... perfect way to start the day. http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/to...&M=False&S=True
