  1. I found out what it is. It is not the the MFB, or any vehicle, it is all of them that are NOT my assets. I used a commander carrer (does not matter the config). Beamed myself down to the planet with a cargo pod. Then I jumped in the nearest vehicle, doesn't matter if it's enemy or friend, as long as it's not one of my assets. Got close to pod, told it to collect the cargo pod, then CTD. I am guessing it's trying to report "[vehicle name] has collected cargo pod" and when it tries to find the asset name, it crashes because it can't find it.
  2. quote:"be prepared...we are coming...stargazer" You know what I think? I believe SC is going to run us forever on this mystery, then in one of the games, he is finally going to unravel the truth, thereby extinguishing all life in the galaxy.
  3. Sc, I am getting a CTD when I try to pick up cargo pods with a MFB. Is that supported? Is it supposed to work with any of the vehicles?
  4. I noticed in the VCF, it says that in order to gain total control with sams and SALs, I had to use the mouse setting as my controller. I did that. However, I can't pitch my view up to shoot enemies Also, how do I use SALs? Just target and keep my view on an enemy air unit? Next, ODS systems, I noticed they are supposed to be able to fight, but is it supposed to be against STO's only? [ 07-04-2004, 10:10 PM: Message edited by: Ditto00 ]
  5. Oops! Didn't specify the unit. Its an MFB On another note, I noticed that they have ATA missles. How am I supposed to fire those? I'm not in an air vehicle (unless ATA doesn't mean air to air)
  6. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by Andrew Presby: [qb] I found I could rotate the turrets but not fire them. Really? Well thats odd because they worked when I tested it. You might want to try it again. They are probably firing, but because of where they are mounted, you might not see the shot. Try looking in the F9 camera view for a muzzle flash. Mr. SC, I have been testing the guns on that thing, and I can't get them to fire. I switched to the other gun, and it still doesn't work. Tried multiple times with game reloads galore. Also, should there be a gun turret marker on the hud? I can't find one.
  7. yes its radine And we already now that the reactor provides backup power, what we are trying to figure out is what the power setting in logistix does for the solar reactor
  8. quote:btw, did you join up with the two Empirian ships? They later cloak for the duration of the mission.OHHH!! so THATS where they dissappeared to! It got really annoying hearing "DISTORTION FIELD DETECTED" everywhere I went. Except, here is something, one time, I had saved my game, and after I loaded, I could detect them! Then I went to TacOps, and they disappeared! Then went back to bridge, and couldn't detect them anymore. Then I loaded my game, and same thing, waited five minutes, and the moment I went to TacOps, they vanished again! (still have saved game if you want to investigate) One more thing, I can't get ships to be put in the "recently ordered" list unless they are clicked on in TacOps. Should they also be added when I give them an order from the command menu?
  9. quote:Originally posted by DennyMala: Too simple for the SC.... SC please enlighten us..... Simple for SC? I think he planned this all along, something to keep us coming back to these forums to bow to the scheming god of the space genre, the ultimate coder of the battlecruiser series, the creator of my battle-crack addiction...errm back to topic... Hey guys, maybe if we offer him our sisters... (JK)
  10. I really don't think there is any difference. Otherwise, wouldn't info be buried somewhere in the manuals, or a bug be fixed by now and listed in the VCF? To me, its just taking up power, and if I need power, I set it to off.
  11. I have recently discovered that giving the fly to order to your escorts, and telling them to fly to you, is the same as giving some kind of follow order.
  12. Do not give an escort order to any craft (except fighter to fighter) when you want to escort. Use HALT instead. This will cause the craft not to suicides against stations, and this action becomes the default action when not carring out one of your orders. Instead, before you hyperspace, tell them to go to your destination. Once they are there, they will not do anything else except fight other crafts there. You can even tell them to go through a gate ahead of you, and they will not do a rambo once they are on the other side, they will just wait patiently for another order. It's a lot more clicks, but better to have your crafts, than none. One more thing, make sure all of the crafts jump through about the same time... many times I have lost an escort fleet because the jumped through one at a time and got slaughtered by whatever is over there.
  13. When hyperspacing to a station, go to the supply station instead. You will end up about 1 click from the station instead of 70. Works REALLY nice when you are cloaked and going for an enemy station, since iridium is EXPENSIVE, and you don't have to travel 65 clicks to begin firing. 14. sha-weet thanks
  15. hang on, let me clear up something. I mean positions, not turrets. According to the manual p56 under TURRETS, I can switch turret positions by activation mouce control and hitting the 1 or 2 or 3 keys. I need to move to a different spot than pilot, because the last instant mission, it says I need to be in the back cabin. It only maks me be the pilot and I have no idea where to go.
  16. ive been trying to find it in the manual for a couple days an in the appendix and in the forums can i have a clue pretty please ? [ 06-23-2004, 04:36 PM: Message edited by: Ditto00 ]
  17. I have a n00bish question too I noticed in the VCF that it says you cant change gun positions in a gunship, does that mean you can in vehicles? If so, what buttons do I use? Where can I get more info on it?
  18. Im a megaron-nian, it looks like a Klingon Bird of Prey from startrek, and can cloak like one too
  19. quote:Wait, WAIT, WAIT! On certain mainboards, you MUST NOT turn on your computer while this jumper has been switched. In that case, turn the power plug, and set the jumper for just a few seconds. Read your manual if in any doubt! Otherwise, you risk seriously damahing you mainboard. Best regardsHe is right, I forgot... quote:hummm.... just a few(3 or 4) years ago, I took the batteries off the motherboards, and shorted the positive to negative battery terminals together(on the unplugged motherboards.), to drain the caps and wipe the bios passwords.YOU SHOULD NOT DO THAT FOR ANY REASON UNLESS THE MANUAL SAYS SO!!! (which I doubt will EVER say that) It's complicated why, but I'll try to explain. You can fry transistors because capacitors like to drain REALLY FAST in an incredible surge, and the battery is usually one of the only things that keeps it from surging because it has to go through the chemical process in the battery. Try touching the terminals of one and you will see what I mean. I guarentee you will never do it again. What you want to do is ground the capacitor, which drains it safely and instantainously. If you want more info on draining it, contact an electrician or electronics engineer. quote:Setting them up..was never that difficult....all one had to do, was put most of the hard drive settings to auto, and tell it how much memory it had...the rest was pretty simple.....I would only advise it, if you know what you are doing, or don't mind learning through trial and error. You are thinking of the configuration menu. I am talking about the Factory Settings. Its complicated beyond reason and will make your head spin, and one wrong setting and you will most likely ruin your chips.
  20. Um meras, I know he was ranting on UC, but he did seem to do it in a respectful way so IMHO I don't think that such negative posts are necessary, even though what he is talking about is already covered in other posts in the forum. So are you sure you want to go at him in such an agressive way? (I'm not trying to start a fight meras, I just don't want the flaming to start from him, then leading to you, then resulting in SC shutting the topic down, so sorry if I offend you) Cdrhardboot, like I said, you ARE just repeating other posts in the forums.
  21. Nah, I'm just trying to gut punch SC so much, he falls over Did I come close? Did you like any? I hope so, I spend a whole HOUR of *MY* UC playing time to entertain all of you Perhaps they should make a show called "What happens when you put a UC Geek and a BB together" Next, I have another. When you think a llama is a n00b with an AI level so low, you could actually CRAVE to have Resnig on board. Lastly, you should make a web page called Murphy's Laws of SC BTW, I play UC [ 06-22-2004, 09:05 PM: Message edited by: Ditto00 ]
  22. quote:edit-- the reason some of the info is missing is i kinda forgot my admin pass to my bios... im lookin for the backdoor. lolThe backdoor is inside of your computer. Look for a jumper that has a setting PW or password or reset. Your computer or motherboard manual should have info on it. Switch the jumper to that setting, turn on your computer, wait till the reset message, them put it back the way it was. That will reset the bios to factory configuration. Some jumpers dont have a PW setting, so you have to just remove it (strongly advise you contact the factory for this one, this cuts power to your bios, and if the capacitors run out of power, your bios will die, then you have to configure it COMPLETELY, ranging from the bus speed to the ram type)
  23. When you are told to evacuate a building, you look for an airlock. When your hungry, you pull into a nearby McDonalds, ask for a number 3, and get pissed when they forget the nutripak. When your car engine's integrity gets below 25%, you tell Kendrick to eject it. You believe a GPS is a TacOps computer. You have no idea what the hell gravity is. When your car excedes 55 MPH, you think you are in hyperspace. You think a V-8 is a Numega Engine. If your house is on fire, you hear Kendrick chant "Living Room.... Is Damaged" "Bathroom.... Is Damaged" You think you have a low AI level when you get lost in your house. You believe the phrase, "When in doubt, lauch a R.A.N.D.O.M." You believe your Fuse Box and Circuit Breaker box is a Logistix computer. You think that disconnecting the garage door mechanism is like turning off power to the launch control. You believe that closing the front gate is like raising the shields. You think a car repair shop is a docking station. When your car breaks down and you visit a car repair shop, you expect them to give you the replacement parts for free. You think the workers at the repair shops are system engineers. You think the person in the passenger seat is your Navigation Officer. You think the chief of police is Resnig, and the officers are the marines (no wonder why I dont trust him). You think Al-Quaida is the Gammulans. You think a trash can is a cargo pod. You think the garbage man is a shuttle on cargosweep orders. When someone takes your parking spot, you try to hit backspace to arm your missles. When you enter the computer store, you always run to the software section looking for the next game in the battlecruiser series. You pretend that the fish in your aquarium is collection of species from planets in the Alpha-Centauri System. When your monitor breaks and you go to the store, you ask for a replacement bridgeviewer unit. You think HDTV is a upgrade for your bridgeviewer unit. 24. quote:They should offer a course in college INTERNET MANNERS AND ETIQUETTE 101. To help un-teach these youngn's the bad behavior that they have learned using other "do as you will" Bulletin Boards. Now see, there is a problem with that. First off, most "barbarians" have "potato salad for brains" (credit goes to another post somewhere in these forums). As for those that do have a small neuron or two, there is rarely anyone that can teach them how to use those neurons, usually because they lack it themselves.
  25. and finally That guy must have had the brains of Resnig But then again... That might be too good for him.
