Just to add to this, I have never had this problem, until I decided to save mid-way through the jump to the planet, to which point I had a CTD when I reached the planet. It doesnt happen otherwise, and its no big deal, Hyper-jump is a pretty dumb point to save anyway, but I just thought I would let you know SC

Theres no better way in my mind to read the manual and study the maps from my experience, than to first teach yourself the basics of deploying mining drones, deploy some drones, land on a planet ( in a safe place ) shut everything down except the nuclear reactor and life support. Sit down while this is happening and study the manual on what you would like to acheive next, or what looks interesting, also study the maps and get a general feel for the layout of the star-systems. Believe it or not whilst your doing this your earning your-self some money mining while learning the game and layout ( dont forget to retrieve the drones ). I THINK the station engineers have a fixed AI, what it is set at I dont know, but im sure you can get your onboard engineers to exceed this level ( as long as it is not 100, then the answer is no ). Besides you really need to use your own engineers to increase their AI, because you will be thankful for it in a crippled CC, and those life support systems really do need to come back on-line ASAP.

If im ever in the SOL system needing repairs I find its a good use of time to land on Mars and deploy yourself in an OC and go dune jumping. If im feeling competitive I put Resnig and some of his stupid marines into other OC's and set a circular course of waypoints around the CC and then challenge them to a 15 lap race around it

If your feeling brave: 1. Send Resnig to a shuttle. 2. Go to your local hostile starstation. 3. Blow it up. 4. With luck you will stir up a bees nest of cap ships and fighters jumping in, keep them busy and make them angry. 5. When hostiles are angry enough launch Resnig in his shuttle and apply the HOLD order. 6. Then run away. 7. If your a carrier commander why not cloak and watch the shuttle be decimated. Another idea might be to assign some highly fatigued, low AI Marines to take Resnig for joyride in a shuttle at a moon of your choice

You know when you've been playing too much battlecruiser when.... Your eating your lunch, and your body detects some food poisoning, a voice in your head then screams "hostile lunch detected" Your flying your private airplane coming in for landing, on final approach you radio to tower "Planet fall esthablished" You open the door to your bosses office and automatically say "Retrieving data" You start believing a manhole is a DJP. Go to PC world and ask for Navitron computer. Go to a watch shop and ask for a wristlaser attachment. Write to NASA explaing the need to add beam weapons to their spacestations and satellites. Which ever way round it is, I have never seen damage figures like this before, very interesting. I imagine the station wont repair it because it is probably beyond help, best just get a new shuttle or OC, whichever one it was and use the old one for target practice. (On a side note, this is my first post on the forum and im glad to be here although im quite advanced with BCMG)
