Crash Landing During Planetfall Without Waypoint
Eclipse replied to scorchedearth's topic in Universal Combat Series
you could just also change the planetfall prompt to the "do you want to die? y/n" prompt you get when you try to exit your suit as a SFM -
Universal Combat - First Impressions
Eclipse replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
Pretty sure its been around since BC3K. I remember shredding the shuttles towing the fighters and then retreating to the debris fields to scoop up the goodies -
shutting down transporters will get you a few energy allocation points in a pinch, but it isn't going to prevent intruders from getting on your ship.
-
Yup, always great to see them beeline for the shuttles only to find they aren't going anywhere.

post a link to the image instead of embeding it in the post. keeps the forum cleaner.

Universal Combat - First Impressions
Eclipse replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
He has a good style, and does a pretty fair job of discussing the game in that one. -
no not missing anything, just have to find an alternate route to do what you want when your systems are down.

and, obviously, upgrading engines and reactor will affect the Radine usage. gnowor is right, solar panels are emergency backups, they will keep the bare minimum systems going and give enough power to engines to limp back to base or launch a shuttle to tow, but to perform HJ you will need radine.

from what I was hearing the chopper was nearly finished and in flight trials. But that was a few years ago so who knows, maybe it didn;t live up to expectations?

I remember my first experiances were with BBS's in the area I lived. Man playing LORD was fun back then; imagination had the best graphics.

You probably won't get hit by a STO when you are sitting on the enemy base since they are Surface to ORBIT missiles. You are more likly to get nailed by a half dozen SAM's when you get inside the atmosphere. You could try sitting about 100k from a hostile planet and see if you can get them to fire.

do a search in the BCM/BCMG sections and try out the methods there for deploying them in UC. -
no, ODS's will repair over time like everything else but they can't be captured IIRC.

Wrong. AB should push your craft slightly above the max speed at 9. It wouldn't be an afterburner otherwise. At lower thrust settings it will increase your speed to the max the craft can handle+ the extra for AB. When you release it it will drop back to the thrust setting.

I found Painkiller a bit boring and quite annoying. I don't like it when you are running around fighting enemines and after you kill a batch new ones spawn under your feet. takes the fun away from the game when you back pedal into an enemy that wasn't there 3 seconds before especially when you can't save.

hehe yep, not too bad of a bunch this time. A few mistakes, wrong forums, RFTM's, and an ocasional ban but I think their learning the ropes -
I usually just pop through the jump gate, go to VOTL, drop a leech and thust up. I repeat this in the general area making sure that my speed is zero when I drop the mine. After putting down about 4 or so leeches I'll drop a couple of crabs for covering fire. Usually I'll keep the crabs close to my ship. Takes awhile but it's kinda fun to do.

I've heard of adding fighters but can you add drones?
Eclipse replied to ouch's topic in Battlecruiser Millennium
no. -
png=portable network graphic, meant to have small file size and lossless compression for web use. Kind of like a beefed up Jpg, IIRC. Paint shop pro, or Photoshop at the least can open the files.

Whose fault was it? Romans Or Jews
Eclipse replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
My two cents, and yes I'm a Christian 1. from a Christian perspective, we all killed Christ. We sinned in Adam and because of that sin Christ's death was necessary to reconcile us to God. 2. from a literal historical point of view, the Romans killed Christ since it was illegal for the Jews to actually carry out hte death penalty. The Romans hammered in the nails and Pilate, no matter his personal standing on the matter he did order the crucifixion. 3. from a Biblical perspective on the innerworking s of the whole ordeal, the Jews delivered him up to Pilate and convinced him to crucify Christ. I haven't read any other descriptions of the whole event other than what is found in the bible itself, but I don't think it too far fetched to say that there probably aren't many if any other writines that give the whole political intrigue of the events leading up to CHrists crucifixion. 4. quote: The Romans killed Jesus because he was a danger to them, dangerous in the fact that he was trying to raise the Jews up in Revolt, and a very learned man that could and did have influence on the Jewish people.Like it or not, the bible alone is the founding basis for Christian Doctrine, christ did not preach revolt, in fact quite the opposite. Jesus was no threat to the Romans so long as he stayed merely a faction of the established Jewish religion in their eyes. It was as Christianity spread and the monotheistic principles began to interfere with Emperor worship( this could be a whole nother debate since the burning if incense to the emperor was considred a sign more of loyaty than worship of a god.) and they were perceived traitors to the Empire. quote: The Romans hands had to be cleaned, because otherwise they would not be converted to this new religion, and the Jews were not going to be converted, so why not blame them.Again, even if you don't believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, you must accept that it is the basis for the doctrine of the Christian religion. This doctrine clearly states that the good news was to go to the JEW first and then to the GREEK. This is completely contrary to your above statement.
