  1. Once again we have another creature to add to the list of reasons why I love how this forum is run. If they can't handle authority and rules, this ain't the place to question it. My had it off to you Derek for managing to run such a tight ship.
  2. man and Harpoon was looking good too. oh well I guess we will have to try to convince Derek to make a mod for UC /me runs
  3. Happy Turkey Day folks. And it looks like Bush is having fun in Bagdad.
  4. search harder http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...t=000094#000018 http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...1159;p=3#000109 http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...t=001217#000000
  5. Odd, my friend has one and he has had no problems with it and he has never taken it appart.
  6. I am sure glad that wasn't resnig back there opening up with that rocket launcher. I like how the marine controls have been greatly improved as well as the whole PTE overhaul. I had been wanting to see the wildlife moving around and it sure does alot to liven up the world.
  7. it is amazing how we get caught up in our own little worlds and out own little schedules that we forget the sacrifices made to allow us to do those things.
  8. Since you are UCV the only thing that might be wrong is a extrememly long sig quote, but I don't remember there being a limit on the length of those. quote: Consider it done. Bye Bye alien abducted emoticon . Question, as long as it's not in sig box, can I still post that in the main body of the message? If you are doing it as a one time thing, no because we are supposed to LINK to images not post them outright on the forum to save bandwidth. If you are trying to circumvent the "no unauthorized sig pics" rule just stated by not putting it in the sig but still using it as a sig image, no. Basically NO.
  9. Welcome to the forums, We are getting an influx of new members here so watch their mistakes and try not to repeat them; it'll save you some grief in the future.
  10. It has a SP component and Uru live, presumably the MMO component. I picked it up yesterday but so far other than nice environments everything seems... dead. I've not explored every corner but so far no journals to add intrigue or sightings of other inhabatents ala riven or exile in the SP component. Beyond the brief hologram at the start telling you to find du'ni and look for the pieces of tapestry in each age, there doesn't seem to be much info about du'ni scattered through the ruins. Overall first impression: Graphics 9/10 (a glitch every now and again) Gameplay 7/10 (lack of life in SP, odd controls.)
  11. I leave for a few hours and you go off and release movies Looks awsome as expected, Derek. Keep up the good work!
  12. welcome to the forums.
  13. Very nice. I think this is the first I've seen of the new underwater bases. Very cool Derek, keep up the good work!
  14. quote: Originally posted by Marine: Tight. I can't wait for UC to come out. Im going to be bombarding ememy base's with missles in multiplayer. IIRC OTS won;t be in MP, so not very likly you will attack w/o fear of reprisal.
  15. the addition of wildlife and plants goes along way toward making the planets appear to be alive and not barren wastelands. Kudos to you Derek.
  16. they are good for target practice, eliminating intruders, eating rations, and generally sitting on their duffs cracking jokes with Resnig. Edit: forgot to add this: They also engage other SFM's when they are deployed, though I have an unconfirmed suspicion that their helmet faceplates are extremely difficult to see out of since they seem to die of exposure faster than from enemy fire.
  17. Very cool. I guess we won't be able to capture horses as alternate means of transportation?

You are still the commander and should still have access to Tacops. Alt+S if I remember correctly. Then select the appropriate craft icon and give it orders. Yes, thank you, I do know how to get to tacops...

  20. well I got my 9600 pro yesterday and so far it seems to be running stable with the core speed clocked to the 500mhz of the 9600XT. Works great so far, but i'm still running tests.
  21. quote: Originally posted by Arsonide: The general answer around here apparently is to refer you to a faq, manual, website, etc...Rather than just giving you the answer. So you might as well look elsewhere for info. on the 143rd time a newbie starts a new thread and asks the same question, we get tired of posting the same response. The forum has a great search feature, the faq is extensive, as is the manuel. We expect you to think and use the resourses given you rather than post repetitive questions that only clutter the forum. If those fail then we are more than happy to to explain.
  22. reread what Derek said carefully. the commander has assets of his own to use.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Arsonide: Space Marine: Waits around and hopes some action swings his way. Anybody else see a problem there? I mean, shouldn't he have magnetic boots or something to atleast wait around on a moving ship? IMO a ship would see more action than a station. (Of course I'm thinking of Galcom, which is in Secure space, I haven't travelled far and don't know how hectic bases can get, but even so. A space marine is something I'd see, even if he was stationed in 1, unmovable place, disarming mines and laying the stations own mines and heck maybe blowing up hazards like asteroids, killin other space marines, blowing up evac vehicles parked near the station/ship...commando stuff like that. And sorry if I am being critical, I in no way dislike the series SC, but I'm up there with everybody else that wants it to be the best Um... last I checked they CAN attach themselves to space stations with something like mag boots. Basically the same way you can attach yourself t your ship when you exit it. SFM's are oriented toward a very specific mission, and if nothing requiring their skills comes up then yes, you sit there and twiddle your thumbs. being a SFM doesn't make you an uber station and ship destroying machine it simply means you fulfull the role the SFM was designed for. Now a long time ago there was talk of SFM's being insturmental in station capture, eg you launch them to the station the clamp on and drill through the hull and engage the stations marines. this wou;dn't replace the methods we have now but would have added a new one, I believe it was canned though.
  24. While I feel for the families of those lost in the chopper crash and last in combat we must remember that casualties are still very light in comparison to previous wars.
