  1. I dothink I need to clarify something. I never ment that there would be more than 4 fighters on board. Just that to support a larger fighter class might mean that I would have to remove 2 IC bays in order to put in the new support material for the larger fighters.... those IC's would be replaced by the ones lounging in the shuttle bays. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
  2. I've seen that a few of the RP'rs have modified their BC's somewhat, an I've been thinking about a few small ones to mine as well. Not many that I think need to be done currently, however I was wondering what the general opinion was. I'm making this topic to see how it would work to replace support craft. not sure how or what I'm gonna be allowed to do yet, so here goes. Following are a few ideas. b4 I go to detaild into any of them I'd like to see the general feelings of everone. Replacing shuttles with fighters, and replacing 2 IC bays with the extra support materials necessary for these fighters. (if the new fighters are larger than the existing IC bays.) Swapping IC's for another fighter class of equal or lesser lenghth.( might require chipping into a CB to place equiptment. Enhancing sensor capabilities, eg. possible to increase the ability to detect ship emissions, plasma vents etc. to find a cloaked ship. (prolly eat up CB's like gallion. ) stuff of this nature. for the time being thats about it.. if this would be allowed I'll go into better detail on what I had planned. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
  3. as for Canadian retailers, I wouldn't really know, I live pretty far away from the border. I don't think that there really is a "by this time such-and-such" I think it just depends upon what you do in your game. I don't remember what company he was in... I just know that he was up in command somewhere b4 he left and joined up with my clan for awhile. He was a pretty decent player when his connection was working. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
  4. well let me have a crack at this I'm not sure about everything, but you could check the stores by you and see if they have it. alos check online... I think BC3K is around 15 bucks. I believe ACM happens to quickly to increase the AI mich, just play alot and do ground ops, or go to Gammula to get more action. I play on a single voodoo 2, and b4 that I played on a voodoo banshee... only realy noticeable framerate drop was in the first ACM mission. I'm not quakified to answer that one either.... but in did you know a guy that went by Super Troop? ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
  5. ok here goes [/rp on] 0930 hrs, 18th May, 3008 Lyrius, Syrius The generis had been following the jump anomolies for the past two hours, with no sign of any actual vessel. Antilles was preparing to transport over to the Eclipse for the final leg of the journey. As the generis neared the debris field where the Eclipse was hiding, he looked out the viewport in time to see the space in front of them twist and shimmer into the shape of a sleek, well armed battlecruiser. Antilles opened a com channel to the now visible ship. he began speaking as the familiar visage of his long time friend and fellow officer, Chase Halliday faded into existance. "Chase, I need a transport over. When I get to the bridge I want a full status report. Antilles, out." As he finished, he felt the the tingling sensation as the transporter began it's operation. A few minutes later he was once again aboard his ship and was walking briskly toward the bridge. Not long after ariving on the bridge and hearing Hallidays report, the Eclipse recloaked and headed toward the jump point where the last anomoly had appeared. As they were leaving, Antilles sent an encoded message to the generis. No acknowledgment came, and none was needed. His instructions were clear, and the crew of the generis well trained in the art of black ops. Soon, the transport would fade into the spacelanes as just another overworked, underkept trader. 2249, 18th May, 3008 Lennon, Syrius The Eclipse reverted to realspace on the other side of the jump point. Antilles listened with mild boredom as the bridge crew ran through the post jump checklist. He had them follow this routine everytime they jumped to a new system. Though it added a few seconds to the exit, it did help keep the crew on top of the situation. He listened more intently as the tactical officer ran through the scanners looking for any anomolies or hostiles. "Scanners are clean... Hold... Brief contact, focusing sensors to sweep area.... No contacts... Expanding search cone... Contact locked, reading as the GCV-GR... We lost them, sir. They just disappeared... Attempting to reestablish lock... Failed. Request that we launchinterceptors 1 and 2 in search pattern." Lieutenant Douglas stated briskly. "Request noted and denied, Miles." Commodore Antilles said calmly. Douglas swiveled around in supprise. "But, Sir.." he started. "Why not?" Antilles finished for him."There is no need, The information we just collected confirmed that the ship I was following was the GCV-Graff Spee. For the time being, that is all we need to know. Just continue to scan for any anomoulous hyperjumps. In the mean time, I have a meeting to get to." Antilles stood then almost as an afterthought, added..."Is Intercepter 1 still preped for launch?" "Aye, Sir." came the quick responce. "Good, it's been awhile since I flew one of those, about time I brush up." Antilles said as he walked through the bridge's blast doors leaving the bridge crew to carry on in his absense. He wasn't too worried about leaving the Eclipse, Halliday was a good man he'd take care of her. [rp off] I've arived and am on my way to the meeting. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Eclipse (edited 10-23-2000).]
  6. I have suffered no slowdowns other than in the ACM. if FF, my framerate has always been acceptable, even in software mode. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
  7. [rp on] 0745 hrs, 18 May, 3008 Debris Field Earth, Sol The gunnery officer aboard the generis looked at the tactical screen before him, it had been a long shift and he was looking forward to getting a little rest. So far nothing unusual had happened; Galcom seemed to have launched a ship, but nothing had appeared on scanners. The officer decided that he would file a report about the malfunctioning sensors when he was relieved. He tiredly looked over to the command chair where Kyle Antilles sat snoozing... these covert missions always relaxed normal procedures. The officer turned back to the display and began studying the region for any anomolous hyperjumps as per his orders. He sat up, suddenly wide awake, and quickly shook his Commander back to consiousness. Commodore Antilles wondered what on earth it was that warented such an awakening. He was about to scold the brash officer when he noticed he was saying something, Antilles decided to hear what it was first. "Sir, I have deteced an anomoulous hyperjump as per your orders. Navgation is locking in coordinates of the exit vector at the Earth to Jupitor jump point." The gunnery officer stated briskly. "Acknowledged, Gunnery. Proceed," Antilles said, now fully awake and glad he hadn't wasted time yelling at the officer. He felt the brief weight before the compensators kicked in as the generis slipped into hyperspace. Several seconds later the ship was at full burn for the jump point and the relative safty beyond. If all was as he hoped, he would be following the Old Corsair's vessel. "Gunnery!" Antilles barked, "Drop half of our mines, mixed types, on this side of the gate; have them stabilized for maximum cover. Drop the other half when we exit the gate, same pattern." "Gunnery acknowledges!" came the formal reply, antilles felt a slight vibration as the mines exited the ship then nothing as the ship passed through the point itself. When they entered realspace once more, the gunnery officer began deploying the second spread of mines, they probably wouldn't stop a determined group for long, especially with another Galcom station so close. They would give him and his quarry a few extra minutes and with any luck, a few damaged ships following them. "Engage cloak and begin searching for the next anomolous hyperdrive signatures," Antilles stated then leaned back in the command chair as his crew busied themselves with their tasks. [rp off] ok I know the generis usually doesn't have mines, and probably no cloak. However I did requisition this one for a covert mission, and it has a few extra suprises built in. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Eclipse (edited 10-18-2000).]

  10. [rp on] 0400 hrs, 18th May, 3008 DEBRIS FIELD SOL/EARTH Kyle Antilles sat on the bridge, if it could be called that, of the Generis. He had slept very little since intercepting that message. Now he sat thinking if his first translation had been correct....the way he had read it, the Old Corsair would have been ariving at Pixan today... yet nothing had happened. If nothing did soon, he was going to have to start making his own way back to the Eclipse and then on to Pixan. In the time he had been awake, he had put together a rough idea of what he knew of the Corsair and his ship. It seemed that it was nearly impossible to detect cloaked or not, that and if tales of a ghost ship with white skull and crossbones could be believed the Corsair might just be harder to track than he had first thought. It sounded like there were a few "modifications" the Old Pirate had made to is ship, Antilles made a mental note to have his crew watch for any hyperjumps with no sources and report immediately to him. With any luck and if intel was right about a high ranking member of Corsair Wing recently placed under court marshal he'd have his man. He shifted to a more comfortable position, and drifted off to sleep with thoughts of the pirates of old swirling through his unconscious brain. 12. Did you already pick up the mining drone? I remember SC or someone saying awhile ago that certain combinations of minerals will cause explosions.... Maybe it's possible that you just hapened to mine one of them. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
  13. here goes nothing (aimed at Rattler and Gallion) [rp on] 07:40 hrs, 15th May, 3008 Debris Field SOL/EARTH Commodore Antilles sat in his ready room aboard the Generis transport he had requisitioned for this mission. It had been two days of complete boardem since he left the Eclipse in Lyrius, except for that close scrape with the Galcom Customs Crusier that had been a tad overzealous. Now, he sat gathering data on galcom movements while the ship combed the Sol/Earth debris field. So far, nothing unexpected had occured. In fact, if nothing happened soon the local police force might start getting interested in what they thought he thought was interesting here.... and that could lead to disaster. While he sat lost in thought, steady tone brought his attention back to the situation at hand, Odd, he thought as he saw the light indicating an Insurgent transmission had been received along with the usual Galcom traffic they had been analyzing. he opened the communique and began reading. quote: TO: Eternal Warrior Am I not Christopher Sly? Well, well see't. Come, sit by my side and let the world slip: we shall ne'er be younger, Thou art a fool Pixan: For if Echo were as fleet, I would esteem him worth a dozen such. But sup them well and look unto them all: To-days and one, I intend to hunt again. SLY Ay, it stands so that I may hardly tarry so long. But I would be loath to fall into my dreams again: I will therefore tarry in despite of the flesh and the blood. [Enter a Messenger] Messenger Your honour's players, heating your amendment, Are come to play a pleasant comedy; For so your doctors hold it very meet, Seeing too much sadness hath congeal'd your blood, And melancholy is the nurse of frenzy: Therefore they thought it good you hear a play And frame your mind to mirth and merriment, Which bars a thousand harms and lengthens life. Well, well see't. Come, sit by my side and let the world slip: we shall ne'er be younger.  Kyle read through the strange message again, the words brought a tiny tickle of recognition, but from what or whre he couldn't remember. Looking off into space Antilles thought through the places he had been..... Slowly the memory came back to him... It was Shakespere, but where had he heard it before and why did it seem different. Antilles looked down and read through the message again. Several minutes passes in the small chamber before he looked up again, but this time he thought he had enough to piece to gether part of his answers, An old corsair had visited Spectre, it was those lines he used that had caused Rattler to spare him for some reason, but the words were slightly changed this time. Commodore Antilles left his ready room hurridly and told the gunnery officer to watch for any ships leaving Galcom HQ and report to him. Not bothering to wait for the officers affirmation, he turned and went back to his ready room to sort out what he could of the message.
