  1. I'm bored. Literally. I can not find 1 single game that will keep me entertained longer than a few days. They are all either repetitive or poorly made. The only games i even play occasionally are Sword of the Stars, and Starcraft 2, and that's only because of the custom scenarios made by different people. Apart from that, i'm extremely limited when it comes to purchasing games. I've stopped pirating games long ago because that too is getting boring and tedious. So, here is a list of games i have played that have lost my interest (including MMORPGs) Combat Arms Black Prophecy Space Empires 5 Star Fury Civilization 4 Star Wars: EAW & FOC Universal Combat (up until a few months ago) X3 Terran Conflict Age of Empires 3 (Quite crappy) COD: MW2 (PC) and Black Ops (360) Distant Worlds: Return of the Shaktri Darkspace Jumpgate Allegiance Eve Online (waste of money) Nexus: The Jupiter Incident Freespace 2 Free Lancer Navyfield Starpoint Gemini - Campaign not finished Sins of a solar empire (all expansions) ANY Star Trek games i might have played, including Star Trek online (Yawn) Parkan 2 Lost Empire: Immortals - Recently Bought Darkstar One - Recently Bought & Campaign not finished Evochron Mercenary - Recently Bought Homeworld 2 Graituosuifosuiofsujfoi Space Battles Empire Earth 2 Star Shatter Half Life 2 Company of Arms or whatever its called Star Lancer Star Ruler Democracy 2 Majesty Spaceforce Rogue Universe Area 51 Air Rivals Light of Altair Spore Armada 2526 Halo 1 Halo 2 Age of Empires 1 & 2 Civilization 2 Age of Mythology GTA: Vice City CNC: Generals Space Rangers 2 ...and about 30 more i can't recall Games that I haven't played but want to: Tarr Chronicles The Tomorrow War Star Wolves 3 Smugglers 4: Doomsday Armada 2526 SuperNova X-COM UFO Defense Europa Universalis 3 Haegemonia Legions of Iron ---- I'm looking for some recommendations of games to play/buy. Unfortunately, i have little variety and only a taste in good games, here is what i'm looking for; Space Simulation Space MMORPG - Nothing fighter restricted (also FREE) Space 4x/strategy games Futuristic 1st shooters I can probably only afford to buy 1 game as well since i hardly have any money.
  2. The graphics are different. UI is only different in some places, like in the Tactical interface. In fact, i find it its harder to manage everything in 2.0 than in the 1.14 version. You can't load personnel via Tactical > Crew page into vehicles anymore, but instead by Tactical > Loadout > Craft > Crew or cargo or whatever. I guess it's to reduce the size of the location bar when you want to move a crewmember, but meh. Instead, the bars have been slightly misplaced, thats the only issue. A few shortcuts have been taken out. If not taken out, then they have been tampered with. There might be something else different with the UI, i can't quite put my finger on it.
  3. i haven't noticed this bug
  4. Probably. I've only seen all of the supernovas and everything inside. That's about it. Nothing special. =/ Nowadays, i keep myself confined to space, because i'm not fond of surface interaction. All i remember is instant death by hostiles when i'm on foot. I'd like to know what area of the game to focus on to experience and see some more "surprises" and etc. I spend half my time in space just camping gates. I'd really like to experience UCCE for what it truly is instead of going around, blowing shit up, and picking up the cargo pods. But meh. What can i do. I've played over a dozen characters/saves. The motivation and curiosity was lost piece by piece with every patch (because something on my end made saves incompatible), Then this ODS issue with my (apparently) bugged V2 just killed it. When i do play, it feels like i'm in a cubicle, instead of on a play ground. TBH, i probably care as much for UCCE now as you do in regards to anything i write. Too bad you could never put in everything you wanted to into UCCE, i might have not lost so much interest. But the UC series kept my ass on these forums and playing for 2+ years on/off, so i guess you did something right. I might buy the stand alone, to replace the bugged version i have now, but i can't afford it atm. I'll stop here before i get further off topic.
  5. I was just asking him for a favor, but If you want to continue this, then do it via PM. We are talking about V2, so If you are unsure about the issue, do not post about it. Have you been testing the stand-alone V2 game, or the 1.14>2.0 patch that is hosted on several websites? I've been using that patch ever since it was released back in December. Yeah. They are everywhere. Too bad entire fleets can't cloak/decloak. That would be something... I haven't seen this at all. Scenarios and fleet orders are the only 2 things that i imagine would make the conditions right for both actions. Other than that, i have never seen another cap ship fire missiles, or their main guns, at anything else. The only behavior like this that i have observed is when they are actively going after a target, or by doing orders via Fleet, even then, i have my doubts. Every cap ship i encounter (in roam) goes to a pre-set destination, such as a station or a celestial body. Transports, shuttles, and FC are the only ships i've seen act Intelligently (apart from the occasional cloak and fighter launch from capitals) in space. Seriously, i've been playing for some time, and i don't recall seeing it.
  6. No. It is just the game's way to remove NPCs from the game world. Be more specific please. Weapons like APMS can be used by your ground assets such as Tanks. Weapons that are not used by Assets, serve no purpose other than trade as far as i know. No. In fact, they do not even use missiles unless it is a FC. No. You can only give them basic commands. Also, can i ask for a favor of you? When you purchase UCCE, test out the ODSs in space and see if they actually shoot at you or anything else. Some people such as myself don't have them working properly. Cheers
  7. How original.
  8. You already got the last episode? Man, i only have access to ep 16. To be honest, i think the final episodes have an improvement over the previous ones. /sigh @Eclipse Same here. I'm rewatching episodes of SG-1, ill probably roll through SG Atlantis next, and watch nothing I'll give another crack at Babylon 5, i didn't enjoy its pilot episode so i stopped watching it. But if it has so many episodes, it must've been a decent show.

    Hello Orion

Unfortunately, no. After Q mysteriously disappeared which was over a year ago, the existing RP fell apart within weeks. Then it just stopped from there. I, and i think someone else, tried making other story lines, but no tomato. I had my own simming website for about a year, but the admin went inactive and the website was shut down. RP and the similar is dead for the most part. Oh, and welcome back mysterious stranger.
  10. Before you flood the forum with question, please try using the search feature on the forum. You might find that most (if not all) of your questions will probably have been answered at one point or another. Praise is always welcome! -Sho Or ask via PM. It feels nice to be needed once in a while..
  11. It's people building their empires at their own paces. That, and the limited universe means sectors will have to be shared, which will require massive amounts of buildings in one area of space which will require way too much CPU. Eve can do it, because space is divided by loading zones and vast distances, along with limited buildings. It is not just simply a Space RPG with 1 ship where the only twist is whether or not your opponent drops something when he's killed.
  12. They are using a completely new game engine. The Graphics might be Similar to X3TC but that's about it. There will be a new dynamic campaign, and it's probably going to be designed to run on dual or multi-core processors. There will be less CPU usage due to the new trading module, and perhaps the addition of "trade lanes", removing all the independent NPC traders roaming around in space. Game is expected to be released before 2012. I hope they balance the ships a little more. Being able to kill everything in an M7 is crazy.
  13. Shine those shoes and report in
  14. "A U.S. special forces team killed Osama bin Laden at a compound inside Pakistan and recovered his body, bringing a close to the world's highest-profile manhunt after a decade-long search, President Obama announced to the world Sunday night." http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-fg-bin-laden-dead-20110502,0,541570.story Well, Bin Laden is dead. I find that good news, but excuse my bluntness, i don't really care. The Media is going to have a field day with this one. Any thoughts?
  15. LOD is said (in the FAQ) to be released near the end of 2011, so you can expect to see testing after the summer, maybe even during the summer.
  16. Well, i can't help you here. The best i can say is for you to update your drivers. It's probably something to do with your video card. When did this start happening and what settings do you have it on?
  17. Where did you turn off the AA, in the Global Settings or just for UCCE.EXE? Also, be sure to update ALL of your drivers, videocard, directx, etc.
  18. Ok,i've finally got around to playing it. I received the Beta key about a week or two ago. So far im level 8. As far as the game goes, it's a beta. There are some minor bugs i experienced, like my weapons being locked or the voice acting being randomly cut off at times and there is some lag. Other than that, it seems fine as far it's been developed. The only thing i don't like is the leveling system. After the prologue missions (level 6ish) it starts getting more time consuming to level up, which is the only downside i feel there is. Graphics can be a bit of a pain, make sure you have a good graphics card. I have to run them at near-lowest settings with minor lag. The combat system is good, trading module is decent, it sucks you can't buy yourself a new ship, only parts that are a certain level. If you are going to play in the future, i recommend putting a few skill points into shields, weapons (preferrably energy) a few into the engines, and rest into Hull. HP matters alot. Taking a mission or job 2 levels above you could be too much if you don't invest in hull. I rate it an 8.2/10 all things considered.
  19. Reporting in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Heh, i don't know what you guys are talking about, but i'm enjoying the game. The demo must be pretty screwed up.
  21. what? you treat the jumpgates as stations, dock with them to use them (V)
  22. Free to play huh? Well i just bought star trek online from bestbuy for $10 so my priorities are shifting. I'll check it out this week and give my first impression. Are you sure it's just fighters in-game? That type of system has been done to death. I dunno, it might get old fast unless they've added a twist.
  23. It's going good. I'm in chapter 2 of the campaign. The only things of importance to report is a kill-bug with one ship during a mission. I can't kill the ship, but shooting it when its at 0 health gives exp boosts and you can exploit it to level up over and over. And the other thing is saving. THere are 2 modes your ship can be in at any give time; combat mode and non-combat mode. Apparently, saves are impossible in combat mode, which is frustrating. The game has been treating me fine so far. Shield strength could be improved. Um, campaign missions are interesting, being ambushed is common. I guess i haven't gone that far into the campaign, but i have a general idea of the game. Targeting can be a pain in the ass, the 'target hostile' or 'next hostile' button targets non-hostile ships, so for the most part i have to target manually via right clicking, precisely on the ships hull. Combat is quick in the beginning, but it begins to grow longer as you upgrade your ship and you fight tougher/multiple opponents. Nebulas and those kinds of things can really lag the game, and i am almost in the lowest resolution with texture on low. Trading and equipping systems is also a part you must endure in the game. I guess it won't be an issue later on, but in the beginning, you can lose some money over it. I guess that's my progress report. My interest in it has not been diminished as of yet, so we'll have to see how that turns out.
  24. 1.0.0.8? Yeah. I'm too lazy to reconfigure the keys at the moment. I just died, and i couldn't save after the storyline mission activated, pissed me off so much. The rotational camera is there, but it is annoying to use with the mouse wheel. It also takes a couple of tries to get the camera locked back on to your ship, because once u rotate the camera it doesn't follow your ship at the default angle anymore, which is also annoying.
