Patching V2 to V8

I sent e-mail and read what I was told and did what it said to do BUT it still will not patch. here is what I sent and I hope someone can help me as they did a year and XX months ago.

I have the boxed V2 and about 18 months ago I had trouble installing the patch but I got help and installed it at that time to I think V7.

update it was V1 to V6 at that time BUT now I have V2.

I have been in the hospital off and on with two heart attacks but am at home now and reinstalling and I can not make the patch's work. I have read all the forum by search and the other helps but nothing and I can't remember many things...

When I run the patch to V8 I get the following

"old file not found. However a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."

Please help me get back to where I left with the game, what do I do please.

You will only get this message if you're trying to patch the wrong version of the game.

Delete the install and re-install V2 from the CD-ROM. Then apply the two patches mentioned in the BC3K FAQ

OK I again followed the how to and the helps and I found that I needed to not only remove V2 but defrage after removing all leftovers from the install.

I now have V8 and need to go to V9 BUT I noticed that here is a "BC3K209WIN.zip" patch also???

Should I try it or the regular one?? I am making a complete backup of V8 before I do a thing.

Hi Mac, you don't need to install bc3k209win.zip (I just wonder where'd you find it) at all, it's unsupported win32 frontend for the game and you can't use it if you don't patch up to 2.09 first.

Just install 2.08 to 2.09 patch and you're up and running.

And remember to install map pak too, so you can get all planetary mission zones to work.

It was in the files dir of this site wasn't it? What makes it special really? is anything changed?
