Supreme Cmdr Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 I was messing around and decided to do a build and see if it would work. It did. www.bc3000ad.com/downloads/bc3k209win.txt www.bc3000ad.com/downloads/bc3k209win.zip
Maxamillian Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 SC-Thanks, I'm downloading now and will give it a try. I have messed with the DOS version for so long that playing under Windows will be an experience. You still can't let the old girl go it seems, but either can I ------------------ Cmdr. SpacePhish Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 Wish it had directx support tho. Well, I ain't got nohting to do tonight, so after I get bored with my home-work I will give it a shot.
Guest macross Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 Very cool. I have 1.09 working, so I downloaded this and tried it out. The windowed version worked, no problem (well, other than it was too fast. :^)The full screen version wouldn't come up at all though...just dumps back to the desktop. (This is on a PIII/600, G400, all the latest drivers.)Nice job S.C.!
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 20, 2000 Author Report Posted February 20, 2000 Please don't start asking for stuff. DirectX, yeah right.Fullscreen works fine here and some others have it running. Dunno. Anyway, its unsupported, so you're on your own.
Martin Pelletier Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 Thank you! Thank you!I'm about to scrap my system for Win2k. If I can still able to play with BattleCruiser, I'm an happy man! Yessssssssssssss!------------------ Commander M. Pelletier GCV - Deathwing ICQ# 7630611 E-Mail: [email protected]
SpacePhish Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 Here is something I found(yeah and I also discovered America). If you play any game start a new game!! If you don't it's going to crash. Play on commanders!
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 20, 2000 Author Report Posted February 20, 2000 Spacephish, thats *bollocks*. It uses the same datafiles so it will not crash because you didn't start a new game.
harrimarkus Posted February 20, 2000 Report Posted February 20, 2000 I don't know if you need any comments about the functionality SC, but i'll post one anyways. Works perfectly under w2k on a 525mhz Celeron and TNT2. Thanks Now I don't have to reboot to 98 all the time.
Guest Posted February 21, 2000 Report Posted February 21, 2000 Hrm... Crashes for me, and I had 2.09 working fine in DOS. Not a big deal for me since I want the glide version anyways (your game is keeping one of my V2's alive). So just as an fyi to everyone I've only tried the full screen version. It seems to boot fine but when it gets to the main screen the graphics are all tweaked out. I can alt-tab out of it. This is on an Elsa X2 Geforce card using Elsa's drivers under win98 SE. Glad to hear it works for others, now back to my glide version
Cruis. In Posted February 21, 2000 Report Posted February 21, 2000 sc i saw your post on the board as you posted it, i was browsing at the same time.but i cant give up my voodoo2 i think i would have less crashes, and wouldnt have to worry about saving so often but, i just cant make anything out on that software mode so were just decided to do this one build? just for fun, so that means you wont update it right? thanks anyway------------------ Commander Cruis. In ICV Defiance "Dare to be defiant"
Guest timski Posted February 22, 2000 Report Posted February 22, 2000 Personally I find the whole thing far too unstable, but then I read the small print so I don't care. What I did have time to play with is multiple monitor support. Bc3k is crying out for this part of MacOS that Microsoft finally managed to emulate (10 years later, as usual?). I can now watch the game, and refer to the appendices; or, perhaps more importantly, let the game run through its quiet moments and do something else on the machine. A couple of years ago I would have said multi-monitor was for people with more money than sense, but these days its more a case of combining a new machine with an old machine. Cut to the chase. Multiple-monitor support in the next release? What do you say? And then how about multiple monitors for different systems or ships? Is that so silly? I guess the program has to do all the required processing anyway. But then I can guess, I'm just becoming slowly addicted to this stuff.------------------ CMDR TIMSKI GCV-SIXTH SENSE[This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 02-22-2000).]
Ben Somerset Posted February 22, 2000 Report Posted February 22, 2000 This may be off topic, but I felt that it should be mentioned. No offense to Timski, but the only people that are allowed the have the rank of Fleet Commander are those promoted directly by the SC. Also, your ship designation should be GCV, instead of CGV. Of course, this could be from some other RPG, in which case, I present my most humble apologies. Just thought you should be aware. Respectfully,------------------ Cmdr. Guest Posted February 22, 2000 Report Posted February 22, 2000 Also timski, if your a Matrox G400 owner you'll get exactly what your asking for in the form of multi-monitor support in Battlecruiser: Millennium. However if you want to continue discussing this you should probably move it to a more appropriate forum.
Guest timski Posted February 22, 2000 Report Posted February 22, 2000 Fair comment Ben Somerset and Vorpal. No appology required. o vsm#y yu[r y dsbr ,u ;ogr. Go figure (probably needs a UK keyboard to work it out). It did start on topic, but I'm quite happy for someone to shift it - still an issue, I think you'll agree.------------------ CMDR TIMSKI GCV-SIXTH SENSE
Guest timski Posted February 23, 2000 Report Posted February 23, 2000 Ok, http://www.bc3000ad.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000177.html I stand humbled; and without G400 card (bugger). Consider this discussion dead. Sorry for wasted bandwidth one and all...------------------ CMDR TIMSKI GCV-SIXTH SENSE
