Guest [email protected] Posted August 6, 2001 Report Posted August 6, 2001 well hello i need help when i am playing in the middle of a game i hear someone keep saying that marines are ready for combat deployment. what does that mean what are they waiting for? Also whats a good way to keep people from stealing my ships i have lost alot of ships when that happens??
Guest Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 That's paul, and he's a pain in the petuty, but anyway, what happens is, Your marines can't just go on duty, they have to prep for combat and thier little duties around the ship, every time one of your marines is ready for duty, paul hits you with that little turn of phrase. Don't worry, it just means that your marines are now doing whatever it is you told them to do, when they were hanging out in the barracks. And if you are having shuttles and fighter stolen, it means that you are getting a fair share of intruders, safest way to keep intruders from taking your ships is to turn your launch control off, your ships can't launch and so when they trap themselves in a shuttle or whatever, trying to haul away your cargo, your marines can go in and get shot while trying to kill them!! LOL
R_wilco Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 You forgot to mention that he can turn launch control off from the Logistix computer, under the "power" button. Or you could just say RTM
Ronvatar Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Good tip! I was losing ships, too. Heck, you really don't need to hardly launch any interceptors. I've been taking on every enemy ship I find just with the BC. Turrents and Vagrants kick arse.
R_wilco Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 I agree, it does seem like fighters are a little pointless. But there are some things fighters can do that cap ships can't. For one, they can easily outrun cap ships, and do a whole lot of damage while the PTA turrets are STILL locking on. Also, it's better to have fighters attack planetary targets, IMO, because the CC is hard to control in a planet's atmosphere(especialy in BC3K 2.0x, in mine it ALWAYS crashes into the ground with the slightest movement)
R_wilco Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 And BTW, in BC3K 2.0x, the cap ships are as manueverably as fighters, but I think in BCM fighters will be a bit more important.
Wolferz Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Those fighters are also handy for keeping an enemy station's defenses busy while you hammer them with your Cap Ship.Just be sure to get your crew trained before taking on the more experienced NPC's. Until then RUN
