DuncanBurbey Posted February 2, 2002 Report Posted February 2, 2002 Thanks to some pesky intruders I know have an intercepter with an engine at 0% & nav computer at 0%. I have repaired all the other systems successfully but cannot repair these two. I have tried at Galcom HQ and by buying the parts and repairing in space. In neither case does the repair or replace button light up despite all systems on my CC being 100%. The manual does say that some systems cannot be repaired / replaced. So if the interceptor is a write off and not repairable how do I get rid of it so that I can replace it ? I dont think I have missed anything in the manual and I cant find any other posts on this subject. Can anybody help ? Thanks

However re-reading the manual it says 'if a system is badly damaged or destroyed it must be replaced' and 'Also some systems cannot be replaced, only repaired'. I think the engine & nav computer must be some of these systems. So I think I have a wrecked Interceptor ! Damn those intruders !! So I guess I need to replace it, but before I do I need to get rid of the wrecked interceptor. Any ideas ? Thanks.

Gordon Posted February 3, 2002 Report Posted February 3, 2002 After reading Firball's post it seems that these two systems have been destroyed. Galcom will not replace these systems, you will need to get your vessel to Wraith which should allow these replacements. This of course is assuming that you started a career as a Terran/Military Commander. If Wraith will not allow you to replace these systems you must then try the other friendly stations. This is from page 63 of the manual 11.1 Repair Operations paragraph 2 quote:Not all Facilities will provide spare parts every time, even if they have said parts in stock.also from the same paragraph quote:And just because the station has parts, doesn't mean that they're going to give them to you. However I have solved this one myself, I have applied the 1.0.0.5 patch and voila the problem's gone away. Now where was that station that sold me the Celestial orb for 50,000 ?

By applying the 1.0.0.5 bug I lost my saved game (expected as I had read the VCF) and hence lost the problem. Before anyone gets the idea I am complaining about that I'm not, the frequent patches are superb showing a commitment to the game that few other manufacturers have. I posted cause I thought I had missed a trick on how to deal with my dead interceptor. Hopefully it wont happen again as next time my marines will be waiting for those intruders !

I already have the latest patch...even though I did have problems with a few sytems on my shuttles being damaged from my drunken marines crashing them into a planet. These damaged systems also refuse to repair past 99% *ducks back into FC1*
