Guest --John Crichton-- Posted January 3, 2001 Report Posted January 3, 2001 Well, i started my game as an insurgent, and i made it to sygon out of my hasty retreat from earth and everything was going smoothly. I had all my mining drones out mining planets and i decided to leave my computer for a while until my drones mined a full load, i put my battlecruiser on some waypoints to fly and left for about 2 hours . Maybe this was a stupid thing to do, but i did it any way, i could still hear the enemy warning though. So i came back to my comp after about 2 hours and i find that the fatigue factor on all of my personel was either 100% or close to it! Their life factor is now starting to go down. I did a perscan to see where the blundering idiots were that they couldn't get any sleep and every single one of my crew was in a turbo lift, or one the corriders. I promptly flew to my station to get any repairs needed because i thought my crew quarters were destroyed. Every single system checks out at 100%. Im totally confused. The only thing that i can think of now is that it is a bug or that all my men somehow got wedged together in a hallway in a mad rush to get some sleep, and now their all stuck and cant get out! Please enlighten me
Joaquin Posted January 3, 2001 Report Posted January 3, 2001 Sounds to me like your crew can't move as a result of their 100% fatigue. I wouldn't be surprised if your theory is right. They probably all got to a predetermined fatigue level and bolted for the door. If Derek uses the same engine for crew movement that he does for marines on the ground and created a internal model of the Battlecruiser with halls, etc. that would do it. You may have just discovered another BC3K phenomenon. What are we going to call it? "Dead crew walking" -- "The Zombie effect" --- " Sleepless in BC "---
Guest --John Crichton-- Posted January 3, 2001 Report Posted January 3, 2001 Well, i guess i would call it the " this really sucks factor" just because it means ill have to let all those fools die on the bulk head and then replace them. There is no way in hell im going to start over now. I guess i never really did like that annoying officer yap to begin with, i cant replace officers.----------Crichton: " Welcome aboard systems engineer."S. Engineer: " Its an honor sir!"Crichton: :of course it is. Now, as the ship's first recruit, and seeing that you are a systems engineer, your first task is to get the corridor system working again."S Engineer:"Sir? I wasn't aware that the corridors were actually a system to work on."Crichton:" Oh, sorry, silly me, i meant mopping up all the bodies left in the corridors. It'll be quite a task S. Engineer seeing that my whole damn crew was stupid enough to get them selves wedged into the same hallway. They couldn't eat or sleep so they all died in unison. I never did like No. 2 anyways. I'm confident that you can do it Engineer."S. Engineer:" of course sir."

If they're stuck en-route, there's a reason for it. Go find it.
Guest --John Crichton-- Posted January 4, 2001 Report Posted January 4, 2001 Hmm, obviously, i am doing something wrong if the supreme commmander hinted my ignorance with my quick judgements. But, thats why i posted in the newbie section because newbies make rash assumptions. But, i dont get it because nothing on my ship is damaged, i have given some individuals orders to go to their guarters thinking that maybe if some go ,then all will somehow get "unstuck". There are no intruders on board that would hinder my crew. All is quite on the front. All my crew quarters are fine. But , they are slowly dying as I blunder around with this mess. I checked to see if maybe i had too much cargo, if for some weird reason it could pile into other sections, but i didn't think that was possible seeing that there are only so many units in the cargo bay and you cant go above that. But i sold alot of stuff just in case, but of course, it didn't work. Anyone have this happen to them?Forgive my ignorance if it offended anyone.[This message has been edited by --John Crichton-- (edited 01-03-2001).]
Guest --John Crichton-- Posted January 4, 2001 Report Posted January 4, 2001 Ahhh, all is well now. Thank goodness it was my ignorance of the game. Well, my officers and pilots now appeared in the medibay. I guess all of them were waiting to go to the medibay and had to wait in line. The vast majority of my crew are still in deck 1 aft corridor or the galley, but i suspect that they are just waiting. Thank goodness, and may i be more knowledgable the next time i open my mouth. I apologize supreme commander. And i hope you didn't take my comments about the officer "yap" too badly. I was just in a different state of mind. Again, i apologize.
Supreme Cmdr Posted January 4, 2001 Report Posted January 4, 2001 quote:Forgive my ignorance if it offended anyoneJohn, you're not offending anyone...we're here to offend you. And yes, the newbie forum is for posting stuff like this, so, don't take my comment too seriously. At least it made you think and in the end, solved the problem.
Epsilon 5 Posted January 8, 2001 Report Posted January 8, 2001 Well, seems your crew loves you so much they don't want to stop working for you...Since bc3k is made so the commander can give any orders, if the problems appens again, you can send your crew off duty or to the medibay manually via the Tactical/crew menu. This raise another question: I can send EVERYONE to medibay (including my alter-ego), but why the ship continues to fly and fight around? Talk about an autopilot!
Guest --John Crichton-- Posted January 8, 2001 Report Posted January 8, 2001 Well, thanks for that advice but.... , I'm not that much of a newbie. I had given them orders to go to their quarters, but they stayed. But all is well , that has been solved, and i appreciate everyone who replied to this post.
Whisper Posted January 9, 2001 Report Posted January 9, 2001 Random thought: You konw what BC real needs? Sleeping pills!*not wishlist, just rambles* *were did I put my Ginkoba? It was right here...*
