Guest Ent1ty Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 build structures on a planet? I mean, there has to be a reason for the whole resource gathering element of the game. I assume it is so that you can build structures and stuff. I am really hoping that I can find a nice planet to colonize and spend time on. Something with a little water (but not too much), nice gravity (for bouncing around in), and a whole bunch of exotic and alien fruit trees. However, I am hoping that I don't have so many fruit trees that I have to spend all of my time clearing paths through them.Bye. Can't wait for the game.
Menchise Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 You can't build structures in BCM. Not sure about GCO.The mining drones are just one way of getting money (by selling the minerals in Tradcom).
Commander Jamont Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 In GCO you can build structures read the faq
modarken Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 please give me an url to the GCO Faq
Wolferz Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 http://www.3000ad.com/products/gco.shtml Are you lazy, or what? This is accessible from the main 3000AD page, under products. Enjoy
modarken Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 hehe lazy and stupid, thanx though
Epsilon 5 Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 It's available right on the forum under "development news"!!
modarken Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 sorry, but thats just 1 too many clicks away!
Cmdr Nova Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 How about pressing Alt+(left arrow) a few times? God, it's right on the Forum Index! Before I get too off topic, I want to ask: Will there be only 1 universe? How many servers will there be (or how will the galaxy be split)?
Epsilon 5 Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 Nova... that's what I said... From what I know, there will be one universe that could be expanded is the need for it is present. The systems will be divided on the servers, and for each regional trasition, you'll need a security level to accomplish it, the more "important" the transition is, the higher security level you need (in hypothetical order: space-atmosphere, region, system, server). I don't know yet how you can improve your security level, but I hope it won't prevent fleet ops.
R_wilco Posted September 10, 2001 Report Posted September 10, 2001 So far it seems like the only reason to gather resources with mining drones is to sell them for money. But, the more GalCreds you can get, the closer to that R.A.N.D.O.M.... If I'm not mistaken, GCO will use the existing features in BCM, but use new ones, like buildable structures, internal levels, etc. I bet the developement of GCO will be much shorter than BCM, since the engine is essentialy finished.
rhett Posted September 11, 2001 Report Posted September 11, 2001 Really newbie question. Can you destroy a planet? (without the use of R.A.N.D.O.M.) Thanks in advance.
Epsilon 5 Posted September 11, 2001 Report Posted September 11, 2001 No artifacts in GCO. At least not the random. But I'd like to have the other artifacts... at least the Karanian reactor, the TA shield, the ENM and the TMCD
Guest $iLk Posted September 11, 2001 Report Posted September 11, 2001 I seriously doubt you can destroy an entire planet unless1. You were extremely bored2. Had a few months of spare time3. Had a ton of money and bugnors4. A great deal of patienceThen I suppose it's possible to wipe out every living thing on the planet and destroy all flora and fauna...Kind of twisted though...
Shadow of the Past Posted September 11, 2001 Report Posted September 11, 2001 What's wrong with the total destruction of a planet and it's lifeforms? We did it all the time back in the day...
