First Sightings of BCM at EB

I'm a newbie to this forum. Let me first say I love what the Supreme Commander has done with the simulation and with this forum. I've needed this simulation since I was about 6 years old when I took my first astronomy book out the library.

I'm calling EB everyday at 1pm. UPS arrives there at 11am. So I'm giving them 2 hours 2 unpack the boxes and scan my copy of BCM into inventory. Today it did not come in. I'm really hope Saturday it will arrive.

Whoever get's their copy first from EB, post up here so we can all know about it. Perhaps we can see what regions of the country it's available first.

P.S. Supreme Commander I hope you are cool with links to your website. I added one from one of mines to yours. I want the world to know about you and your efforts

Well Supreme Commander, I'm in the adult part of the entertainment industry. I produce an online magazine featuring women of color, some solo model sites, and a site that features videos of exotic dancers from NY. I have no need to promote that here though. I can drop you the addresses by email if you're interested in the info. I definitely will not assume you are interested. I do admire what you have done. I wish there were more people in the gaming industry who had your vision, focus and insight. Being a huge Sci-fi fan when I was a kid I actually had a whole universe in my head. I had a fleet of ships that I would remote control with my imaginary computer (first person view of course). Had an imaginary transporter pad next to my bed, and I could literally sit in my room and dream up missions. Your simulation allows me to virtually continue on with my own childhood fantasy. I love that! And for that I must spread the word.

Do me a favor and pull that link off of your site until you get approval for it. Considering the nature of this board and the image that we present to gamers and parents alike, I don't believe that is appropriate without Derek's consent.

Thanks.

As a webmaster I have links to all types of sites, mainstream and adult. I would say we represent the softer side of the adult industry. However if the Supreme Commander says, "don't link to my site." Yes I will drop the link ASAP. No problem. Adults come to my sites looking for adult entertainment. Some are into games, and if I can enlighten a few, it's all good.

When the Supreme Commander speaks I will obey.

Thanks Jordan, but please remove the link from your site. This is a non-adult site and the game is rated T. As such, we have a different community and don't want to attract any other.

Thanks for your co-operation!

Getting back to the topic: I passed by an EB today and asked if Battlecruiser Millenium was there. The guy looked at me and said "Battlecruiser Millenium?" I think this is an insult to both the gaming industry in general and 3000AD studios. How could they not know?

Needless to say, i am never patronizing that particular store again, and will definitely buy my BCM online rather than from some inferior real-life store.

Man,,, i've had worse,,, i phoned up my nearest EB and i asked them when they would have some copies of the game(BCM and GCO),,, she told me, in no uncertian terms, that the game was already out and that thye had many copies, i then asked her you sure that we're talking bout the smae game, she said: Yea Battle Chess 6000,

I told her that she must have heard me wrong and i asked her for BCM copies, she did'nt know what i was talking about...

The folks at my local EB are not out of touch at all. 80% of the staff are avid game players, and the other 20% are at least helpful. Perhaps I'm just one of the lucky ones. I'm glad I work at home so at least I can get the game as soon as it comes in. If I had a 9-5 gig and I couldn't get to the store until afterwork, I'd go crazy. I'm sure some stores will not have a full stock on all pre-orders, so do your best to get there ASAP.

One more thing, my store had the huge promotional box cover at the entrance of the store for a good 2 months. Even though they have taken it down since the game was delayed, but I don't understand how any employee could of missed that floor display. I've never seen a box cover that big.

I saw one of those huge BCM boxes in front of EB around two months ago. Haven't seen it since. The employees were pretty good across the board. That EB hasn't moved from it's spot since Marley Station (the mall) was built back in the mid 80s.

Guys at my EB are polite too, and when i ask about BCM they tell me if date has changed.

Even tho i see that they are holding some negative comments they have on their mind about the game, probably so they can make another sale.

i pitty those poor bastards, they dont know any better.. really.

Not really having any "EB"'s around, I fear for the availability of my game where I live. Belgium is already one hole of the world, and finding decent games is hard already;; I hope that they'll import Battlecruiser Millenium, but since it's a 'specialised' game already, I doubt it..

By specialised, I mean that I don't think just any gamer will pick it up, and especially not the dumber types (which are in great supply here).

Well it's 3pm here in NY, I just called and the response was, "no sir, not today." I'm now praying it gets there by Wednesday. At least I can take the manual to my ladies house, Thanksgiving requires my presence a day early. I already asked her about installing it on her machine, then I decided that might not be in the best interest of our future relationship.

Apparently, the shipping date is slippery. EBGames USED to say that it would ship on the 16th, then the 17th (when I called my local EB, they told me that New Releases are NEVER shipped on a Saturday), then today's check at EBGames.COM says that it will ship the 19th. A call to my local store tells me that it *should* (their emphasis) be there on 11-20.

PHEW!

I'm willing to wait a looong time. Before I even get the game, i have to get my REAL computer running again (the one i'm using isn't too great)

It's not that the guys at my local EB are idiots or incompetent or whatever, it could have been his first day. but still, I haven't seen any hype about the game coming out in the store. I don't care if I can't get a copy, i just feell that my local EB isn't quite up to date (it's very small) and they should at least know something about the game.
